Streisand was born in 1942 in the city of Brooklyn, New York, in the United States. She started her career as a vocalist in the early 1960s, and her first record, titled The Barbra Streisand record, was an enormous hit when it was released. After that, she went on to release over 60 albums, many of which reached platinum or multi-platinum status upon their initial release.
