Owen Burns was coming home from school on a normal afternoon when he heard his sister yelling in the distance. Even though he was annoyed by the disruption that her shouts made, he was unable to see anything sinister in the way that she was pleading for help.
However, as he turned to look out his window, he was shocked, but he quickly got over it and made a choice that would end up saving his life.

Owen Burns was getting ready to play his favorite game, “Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” when he heard his sister screaming in the backyard. At that moment, Owen was getting ready to play his favorite game on his PlayStation 3. The young lady, who was 13 years old at the time, became annoyed because she believed that she was acting foolishly.
Later on, when the young man was still in his room, he looked out the window and saw an unfamiliar person attempting to drag his younger sister, who was only eight years old, into the woods that bordered their property. The terrified adolescent snatched his slingshot from its holster and scrounged around for anything that could serve as ammunition, including a rock and a marble. He took a direct shot at the abductor, hitting him between the eyes with the bullet.

When they fought again, he struck him in the chest the second time. “He was using profanity. Owen stated to the press that the individual was using profanity.

The gathering took place during the daytime hours at the Burns’ residence located in the Alpena Township of Michigan. According to the children’s mother, Maggie Burns, kidnappings in the area are a very rare occurrence.

The ordeal did not result in any injuries for his younger sister, who is 8 years old, but she was undoubtedly shaken up by it. The identity of the kidnapper, who is just 17 years old, has not been made public by the Michigan State Police; however, they have confirmed that he will be prosecuted as an adult.

“He really is the one that…I believe saved his sister’s life or from something seriously bad happening to her,” Lieutenant John Grimshaw said at a news conference, calling Owen’s efforts “extraordinary.” “I believe saved his sister’s either life or from something seriously bad happening to her,” Grimshaw added. These brave deeds performed by a young boy are an inspiration to us all.
He went on to say that the young man in question ought to be praised for the efforts that he has made. The teenager utilized a typical slingshot; there was nothing extraordinary about it. Because it was on sale, it only cost his mother three dollars. The adolescent stated that going outdoors into his yard and practicing shooting at old orange juice cans helped him improve his aim. He did this on occasion.

The young man stated that when he first saw a stranger attempting to kidnap his sister, he had only one thought in his mind: if the stranger was successful in his endeavor, he would most likely kill his sister or exploit her as a sex slave. The boy claimed that he had only one notion in his mind when he first witnessed the stranger trying to kidnap his sister.

The perpetrator of the kidnapping “came from behind her, grabbed her like you see in the movies — hand over the mouth, arm around the waist — and was attempting to pull her into the woods.”
At that point, Owen drew his slingshot from his backpack and began to fire at the other person. As soon as the kidnapper released go of his sister, she ran into the house sobbing and informed her brother that she had come dangerously close to losing her life throughout the ordeal.

Owen stormed out of the house in a rage and cursed the person who had kidnapped him. He attempted to hit him with a baseball, but it went out of the park. The rubber on his slingshot eventually split, rendering his third attempt useless. He continued to try. After that, he attempted to strike him with it once again.
After that, the children got in touch with their mother, who was on her way home from work when she decided to pitch in and help out a relative at their home. After she overheard her upset and incomprehensible children speaking over the phone, she hurried back to her house to call the authorities. She was able to piece together the word “kidnapper.”

Maggie stated, “I was in shock for a few days,” explaining her state of mind.

The 17-year-old suspect was tracked down and found hiding at a petrol station in the area. Later, at the Alpena County District Court, he was indicted on charges of attempted kidnapping, attempted criminal assault, and misdemeanor assault and battery. All of these charges were attempted crimes.

“He had obvious signs of an injury consistent with those that would have been sustained from the slingshot strikes to his head and chest,” the police said in a press release.
Maggie questioned the veracity of her son’s assertion that he was able to hit the abductor directly in the face and chest from a distance of two hundred feet away. The information was verified, however, when the police stated that the suspect’s marble-induced goose egg on his forehead continued to grow larger as they spoke with him.

“You said I always lie!” “You always lie!” It was Owen who spoke to his mother.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” was her response to my question. “Until there was proof, it just didn’t sound real,” the witness said. It is the kind of thing that would be seen in the movies.”

The young man turned to his mother and explained, “Stuff that happens in the movies can and does happen in real life.” It is very clear that this young man is a hero.
