Renner posted an Instagram photo of his wounded face with the caption, “too screwed up now to write.” The Avengers actor had an accident outside his Reno, Nevada, home on Sunday and was taken to the hospital.
The local sheriff estimated that Renner was run over by his snow plough, which weighs at least 14,330 lb (6.5 tonnes), or three times as much as a vehicle.
His spokesperson said on Monday that he had sustained injuries to his chest and bones. He was in critical but stable condition at the time.
Renner, 51, posted the following on Instagram on Tuesday night from his hospital bed: “I appreciate the support.
I am currently in too much of a muddle to write anything coherent. But know that I am thinking about you and loving you.”
According to Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam’s news conference, the event occurred after a new year’s blizzard dumped almost 3 feet of snow.
The sheriff said Renner’s automobile had become stranded in the snow while being driven by a family member. Renner dug the vehicle out of the snow with his plough and liberated it.

He went out to visit with a relative but found that the snowplough had started moving without him inside.
Mr Balaam added that Renner was attempting to get back into the driver’s seat to stop it from moving when the “very massive” piece of equipment ran him down.
He estimated that the PistenBully weighed about 14,330 lb. According to the Environmental Protection Agency in the United States, the typical vehicle weighs 4,289 pounds (2 tonnes).
“An eyewitness described seeing Mr Renner getting into the PistenBully and not seeing him again until the PistenBully came to rest in a mound of snow in front of his driveway,” Mr Balaam said.
The sheriff praised Renner as a “wonderful neighbour” for his habit of ploughing snow off neighbourhood streets.
He has been highly giving all around town, and most of the time, you wouldn’t even know it since he goes about it so quietly. Nonetheless, his influence has been enormous.
“Iron-willed”
After Renner’s recent health update, several celebrities, including some of his former Marvel co-stars, sent their good wishes for him online.
Capt. America star Chris Evans responded to the actor’s Instagram post with the following: “Invincible; as hard as a rock. To my best friend, love you.”

Chris Pratt, star of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, said that he would be “continuous prayers sent your way, brutha,” and “Love you, buddy,” respectively, were posted by WandaVision actor Paul Bettany. I hope you find peace and healing soon.”
Talk show presenter Jimmy Fallon assured Renner there was “Lotsa love out there for you, mate” after receiving notes of support from Vanessa Hudgens, Heidi Klum, and Orlando Bloom.
Actor Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor, said: “Get well soon, buddy. My heart goes out to you.”
Taika Waititi, director of two Thor movies, remarked, “My brother, I adore you.”

At least sixty people died in eight states due to the snowfall that started the new year. News of rally driving champion Ken Block’s death in a snowmobile accident at his Utah ranch broke a day after Renner’s tragedy.
Renner, nominated for two Academy Awards, is well recognised for his portrayal of Clint Barton/Hawkeye throughout many Avengers films and the TV series that sprang from it.
His performances in The Hurt Locker (2008) and The Town (2010) earned him Academy Award nominations for both best actor and supporting actor.
We pray for Jeremy Renner and hope he makes a speedy recovery.
