Donny Osmond, 67, Posts Video from the Hospital, Sparking Concern: ‘What Happened to You, Donny?’

After posting a video of himself singing from a hospital bed, Donny Osmond has alarmed fans.

He assures them that he is getting better but doesn’t provide an explanation for his surgery.

Donny Osmond posted a video of himself in a hospital bed under anesthesia prior to an unannounced treatment on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

He was performing the song “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Disney’s “Mulan,” which he had previously recorded as Captain Li Shang’s singing voice.

Osmond continued to sing while the anesthesia took effect, although his enthusiasm and voice became visibly weaker.

After the operation, he too carried on with the performance, looking sleepy but determined to finish the song.

Announcing that he was “feeling all better now” and that the song had helped him “power through” the surgery, he shared the video with his 212,000 followers.

Supporters voiced worries about his health.

“Donny, is everything alright? HUGS! 🤗 One supporter commented, “(I noticed the purple wristband, by the way!) 💜🙏🏼 [sic].”

“Donny, what happened to you?

Another said, “I’m praying for you from Mexico.”

There were rumors that Osmond had had a colonoscopy.

One internet user observed, “The way he is laying it looks like he is having a colonoscopy.”

It appears to be a traditional colonoscopy position.

Hehe.

I hope everything went smoothly,” someone another said.

Support mails from other fans persisted.

“Oh no!

I hope everything is good on your end!

Before surgery, only Donny could still be singing “happily” and sounding fantastic!

Be and remain healthy!

One wrote, “💜🙏💜.”

“Sending you healing energy and so much love,” an admirer said.”💜✨💜✨💜✨💜”

Osmond is making every effort to maintain his health and fitness at his age.

He talked candidly about his health regimen and how it keeps him nimble back in 2023.

The artist said that, because he makes sure to give it his best, his time on stage also serves as his workout.

“I find it difficult to go to the gym when I work so hard on stage,” he said.

He also disclosed that, although he occasionally eats cheese, he eats a primarily vegan diet.

He clarified, “Moderation in everything is what I say,” “A good steak every once in a while won’t kill you.”

However, he and his spouse have cut off sugar from their diet, with the exception of fruit’s natural sugars.

The artist chooses to be healthy wherever feasible and abstains from soda.

Osmond believes that laughter and kindness are the keys to aging gracefully.

He asserted that “kindness has never been ridiculed,” emphasizing the value of treating people how you want to be treated.

“Start loving life because it has been proven that if you have an optimistic attitude, you’re more likely to stay healthy.”

He attributes his ability to maintain equilibrium in all facets of his life to his wife, Debbie.

“Debbie has brought steadiness to my life.

“She helps me stay grounded,” he said affectionately.

When the outside world becomes too much to handle, the pair has found solace in shutting down the cacophony of daily life and just spending time together.

Osmond, who has struggled with anxiety for decades, has found this grounded approach particularly beneficial.

His wife Debbie was the one who kept him afloat thru it all.

These days, he enjoys every second of his time with his family when he’s not performing.

One of his grandchildren joined him in celebrating the Fourth of July recently.

“I celebrated the Fourth of July in this manner.

❤️ “Baby, you’re a firework!” 😂🇺🇸 #4thofJuly,” he wrote on Instagram, quoting Katy Perry.

Osmond is currently the star of a residency that has been extended to November 2025 in Las Vegas.

An artificial intelligence-generated 3D reproduction of his 14-year-old self is part of his presentation at Harrah’s.

The current version and the young Donny perform a revamped rendition of “Puppy Love” in a special duet that uses archive film from the 1970s and authentic audio recordings from more than 50 years ago.

The performance takes viewers on a musical tour of Osmond’s life.

Any song he has ever recorded is available for guests to request, and he ends the show with a complete Broadway production of his popular “Mulan” song, “I’ll Make a Man Out of You.”

Fans may anticipate seeing Osmond return to the stage in peak shape now that his recuperation is under way.

His tenacity and commitment to his work indicate that he will resume performing with the same fervor and passion that have characterized his multi-decade career.
