Mom of Three, Rachel Booth, 38, Found Dead After Disappearing from Local Gas Station

Police found the missing Northwich woman’s body in a lake, ending the tragic hunt for her.

However, there are still unanswered concerns regarding the hours before her disappearance, including a lone visit to a convenience shop early in the morning.

After a thorough two-day search conducted by Cheshire Police, 38-year-old Rachel Booth, a mother of three from Barnton in Northwich, was discovered dead in a lake in Oakmere on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Following her family’s initial report of her missing on Saturday, July 19, there were widespread searches and frantic calls to find her.

Booth was thought to have been wearing a black shirt and black leggings when she vanished.

She was described as having blonde hair, a thin body, and a height of 5 feet 9 inches.

Booth, whose family also called her Rachel Langley and Helena, was last seen on CCTV footage taken from the Shell gas station at Sandiway Garage, which is situated along the A556, at 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 19.

The Sun quoted 19-year-old garage worker Isaac Carolan as saying, “I talked to my coworker who had served her on Saturday morning.

She jogged from forty-five minutes away and bought milk and wine.

She didn’t appear upset or agitated, though, so it didn’t seem strange.”

Police conducted a massive search for her when she was reported missing, including sniffer dogs, specialized dive squads, and cops.

The Oakmere neighborhood in Delamere was the focus of the search.

On Monday morning, two underwater search teams showed up at Delamere Lake Holiday Park, which is close to the Wild Shore Delamere water sports area.

Additionally, a police dog vehicle and an incident command unit arrived at the area.

Wild Shore Delamere was temporarily closed to the public during the operation.

“Wildshore Delamere will remain closed tomorrow, Sunday, July 20th, due to ongoing police investigations in the surrounding area,” a site representative said.

“Although Wild Shore had nothing to do with this tragedy, we want to assist as much as we can, so we will be closing the site till further notice.”

Officers found a body in the lake on Monday.

Official identification verified that the remains belonged to Booth.

A file is being prepared for the coroner after Cheshire Police determined that her death did not involve any suspicious circumstances.

Specialist cops have been notified and are assisting her family.

Booth, her husband, Carl Langley, and their three sons, Alfie, Archie, and Ronnie, lived in the Barnton village when the discovery was made.

Booth was described as popular and lively by locals and store employees.

“We have all been praying for her,” said Raj Kaur, 30, who works at a Premier convenience store next to Booth’s house.

We all wanted her to be found safe and well, and she is in everyone’s thoughts here.

It’s quite depressing.

It’s really depressing right now because she had three kids.

“She is a lovely clever lady — always coming in here for her parcels,” Kaur had previously recalled.

We all enjoyed her because she is pleasant and very active.

An further resident of Barnton, a middle-aged mother who wished to remain anonymous, said, “I knew her from the school and she was always pleasant — she has three boys at the school.”

Through Cheshire Police, Booth’s family published a tribute after her passing.

“Rachel was a beloved family member who we all knew as Helena.

We were all impacted by her strength, love, and devotion, which served as a beacon.”

“A lovely mother, wife, daughter, and sister who will always be in our hearts but cannot be replaced, she was always kind and a strength to everyone she knew.

Her smiles are a memory we will always cherish, yet her departure leaves a void,” the family’s statement stated.

A GoFundMe site was created in Booth’s honor following her death.

Support for her surviving family is the goal of the fundraising.

The aim is £13,000 ($17,600), and thus far more than £8,800 (about $11,900) has been raised, with more donations anticipated soon.

All revenues will go into a trust for her three sons, according to the organizers.

A percentage of the proceeds will also be donated to a foundation that supports families and individuals with ADHD, a subject that is important to the family.

“Your kindness, no matter how tiny, is much appreciated and will have a lasting impact.

The fundraising page’s description says, “We are grateful for your support during this difficult time and for helping us give Rachel the lovely farewell she deserves.”

The focus of the community’s grief is now on helping Booth’s family and paying tribute to her memory through the fundraising set up in her honor.
