Brandon Blackstock, Talent Manager and Ex-Husband of Kelly Clarkson, Dies at 48 After Three-Year Cancer Battle
Kelly Clarkson’s former husband and well-known music manager, Brandon Blackstock, passed away at the age of 48 following a more than three-year battle with cancer.
In a statement, a family spokesman verified the information to People:

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brandon Blackstock.
For for three years, Brandon fought cancer with courage.
He died quietly, surrounded by his loved ones.
We appreciate your prayers and thoughts, and we kindly ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this extremely trying time.
Blackstock was raised in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was born.
His father, Narvel Blackstock, formed Starstruck Entertainment, where he developed a prosperous career as a talent manager.

He has handled some of the biggest names in country music throughout the years, such as Emily Ann Roberts, Carly Pearce, and Blake Shelton.
He received recognition for his commercial acumen and client support.
His collaborations with Blake Shelton were particularly crucial to the singer’s professional development.
He met Kelly Clarkson through his work in the field, and he later oversaw her career during their marriage.
“I wouldn’t have hired Brandon to be my manager if I didn’t see first-hand how great he is at that and how much he cares about Blake,” Clarkson said in a 2018 interview with Marie Claire of his professional abilities.
His mind truly does function in a very different way, and he is incredibly talented at what he does.
Following a quick courtship, Blackstock and Clarkson were married in October 2013.

Clarkson told People that she knew they would be together from the moment they first met, which had been years before.
Everybody laughs as this person passes past.
“I’m going to end up with him,” I declared.
I am aware of that.
River Rose, born in 2014, and Remington Alexander, born in 2016, were the couple’s two children together.
In addition, Blackstock had recently become a grandfather and had two elder children from a previous marriage, Savannah and Seth.
Clarkson frequently discussed their close bond.

“This isn’t a downer to anybody I dated before him, but I never felt, honestly, sexually attracted to anybody before him,” she stated in a 2017 SiriusXM interview.
He had a certain quality.
Their divorce was formalized in 2022 after their marriage ended in public in 2020.
Clarkson continued to refer to him as the father of her children even after they parted ways.
Following his passing, Clarkson announced on Instagram that she will be delaying the remaining August Studio Session performances in Las Vegas in order to spend more time with her kids.
Although she usually keeps her personal life private, she added, “I need to be totally present for my children right now because their father has been ill for the past year.”
“I truly apologize to everyone who purchased show tickets, and I sincerely appreciate your understanding, generosity, and grace.”

She didn’t reveal any new dates for the shows that were postponed.
Fans, coworkers, and friends recall Blackstock for his humor, laid-back demeanor, and affection for his family.
He had a reputation for putting people at ease and making them laugh.
His four children, one granddaughter, and a well-respected position in the music business are his only survivors.

For years to come, people will remember his influence on the careers of well-known musicians as well as his roles as a father and grandpa.
