Prince Harry Visited Queen Elizabeth II’s Final Resting Place
Amidst the controversies surrounding his royal affiliations, Prince Harry returned to the United Kingdom alone on a somber anniversary, reestablishing a connection with a well-known cause.
Not a wife. No kids. No relatives were there to welcome him. Under a veil of royal quiet, Prince Harry landed in the United Kingdom and made his way directly to his grandmother’s grave.
On the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, the Duke of Sussex paid his respects at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor on Sunday, September 8, in a discreet and unexpected visit. Harry’s visit was a solemn act of remembering because there was no royal reunion planned and no Meghan to accompany him.
As a solemn homage to the woman who loved him and once kept a family together that is now more divided than ever, a spokeswoman confirmed that the Duke silently deposited a wreath of flowers at the Queen’s final resting place.

On September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96 in Scotland’s Balmoral Castle. Her last resting place, which she now shares with Prince Philip, her parents, and her sister, Princess Margaret, is the King George VI Memorial Chapel, where she was privately interred on September 19 following her historic state funeral.
For Harry individually as well as the royal family, the Queen’s passing continues to be a turning point. Additionally, St. George’s Chapel is significant to him personally because it was the location of his May 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle. In 2023, he paid a similar visit to the tomb.
His four-day solo excursion to the United Kingdom this year began with his return to Windsor.

On the morning of September 8, the Duke, who has been in California since resigning from his royal duties in 2020, came in the United Kingdom by himself. Meghan, Princess Lilibet, 4, and Prince Archie, 6, stayed in the United States.
At the 20th annual WellChild Awards in London, a cause Harry has championed for 17 years, he will make his first public appearance. He will present the Award for Inspirational Child (ages 4–6), meet with young award recipients and their families, and give a speech during the celebration.

A Family Harry Hasn’t Seen Since February and Reverberations of 2022
Coincidentally, physicians expressed “concerns” about the Queen’s health while Harry and Meghan were in the UK for the 2022 WellChild Awards. The couple stayed in Britain to attend the burial while Harry went to Scotland.
The fact that Harry’s visit this year is a little longer than some of his other visits has raised questions about whether he will eventually meet King Charles III again.
Since February 2024, when the King revealed he was receiving cancer treatment, the father and son have not met in person.
No meeting was held when Harry visited in May 2024 for the Invictus Games’ tenth anniversary and in September 2024 for the WellChild Awards.

Emily Nash, royal correspondent for NBC News, claims that Harry “has made no secret of the fact that he would love to be reunited with his family and his father in particular.” She continued, “Now, we think that could be a possibility.”
She did, however, warn that Harry and Prince William’s relationship is still “incredibly strained,” pointing out that the brothers have not spoken directly and that a reconciliation is doubtful.
Security is still a source of contention and a stinging legal blow.

Harry doesn’t want the dispute to go on much longer, even with the court rulings and damaged relationships.
“I would adore getting back together with my family. “Life is precious; there’s no point in fighting any longer,” he declared. Despite admitting that there had been “many disagreements,” he said he had “forgiven” his family members.
