Following six years of courtship, Reba McEntire and Rex Linn have formally announced their engagement. In front of flashing cameras at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 14, 2025, the couple confirmed the happy news.
Zuri Hall, a “Live From E!” correspondent, stopped the couple as they were standing arm in arm outside the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles and gave the shocking introduction.
“Joining me now is one of tonight’s performers, Reba McEntire, and her fiancé Rex Linn co-starring on ‘Happy’s Place’ too, from what I hear, yeah?” Hall said, revealing the unexpected information.
“We’re having a blast on ‘Happy’s Place’ and so glad to be here tonight,” McEntire said gently, his smile beaming.
In a brief statement to E! News, McEntire’s agents confirmed the news, putting an end to the engagement rumors. But their relationship wasn’t the only thing that happened that night.
Onstage, McEntire was as impressive, giving a moving performance honoring “The Golden Girls” on its 40th anniversary. Throughout the night, cameras captured the couple posing for many pictures, exuding joy.

“We didn’t get to see each other from January ’til June 16,” she said. However, if we had been together all that time, we wouldn’t have developed the intimacy that we did. Since June 16, 2020, we have essentially been with each other constantly.
McEntire revealed the secrets of their enduring connection in an open interview in May 2025. According to her, “Well, Rex and I get along in every aspect,” “I definitely appreciate that he’s a better cook than I am. We both entered the entertainment profession because we adore Longhorns and the cowboy and cowgirl lifestyles.”
She went on to laud with sincere admiration. “He performs as an actor. I sing. I enjoy acting. We act together now. Thus, it’s unquestionably the ideal union. We also get along well. Now we do argue. We have a lot of arguments, but we also like them.
