Two Couples Get Eliminated This Week on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ – Recap

On “Dancing With the Stars,” audiences exploded in outrage over one dancer’s survival and denounced the result as unjust, while two couples were unceremoniously eliminated.

During “One Hit-Wonders Night,” Season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars” heated things up, with tensions running high as the season’s first eliminations got underway. The evening’s dramatic results reveal, daring song selections, and dazzling dances had the ballroom in a frenzy and viewers swarming to the internet to express their opinions.

The results were determined by judges Bruno Tonioli, Derek Hough, and Carrie Ann Inaba by adding their scores from both weeks with the audience votes from the first two weeks. The season’s first exits occurred when two stars were quickly shown the door after the final numbers were counted under the judges’ close supervision.

The Ballroom Carnage Starts
Baron Davis and professional Britt Stewart danced a Samba to Mark Morrison’s “Return of the Mack,” earning 18 out of 30, while Corey Feldman and professional Jenna Johnson received 15 out of 30 for their Cha Cha to Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.” Following the tallying of the scores and votes, both couples were immediately eliminated from the competition.

The Tango with Gleb Savchenko, performed by Hilaria Baldwin to Haddaway’s “What Is Love,” however, sparked the most discussion. Although she advanced to the following round with a score of 21 out of 30, not everyone was overjoyed.

‘I’m Done Watching This Season,’ a fan exclaimed
While some viewers supported Baldwin and praised her dancing skills, others contended that Feldman and Davis were more worthy.

With the words, “Yeah no, I’m done watching this season since she’s still on,” one fan expressed their annoyance. More than she does, Corey and Baron should be present. was prepared to watch every Tuesday now that I had free time [sic].”

Similar sentiments were expressed by others, who wrote bluntly, “Baron deserved better.” Take her home. “I literally sobbed, I’m not even joking why why whyyyy bring baron back, please, I miss him [sic],” one disgruntled admirer even said.

Some also questioned Baldwin’s eligibility for the tournament, saying, “It’s a shame that Hilaria Baldwin received so many votes on Dwts. She shouldn’t even be on the program because she has a lot of ballroom expertise. Hilaria should have taken Baron’s place [sic] and he should have been saved for another week.

Another user expressed that opinion, saying, “I’m sorry, but I need Hilaria Baldwin gone.” She has previously had ballroom instruction. It’s unfair. However, not everyone opposed her. “Another week of Hilaria giving us the best dance of the night,” exulted one fan.

Another reader wrote, “I understand Hilaria struggles with popularity, but she had the best dance of the night,” in an attempt to disentangle performance from popularity. Her dancing is the only reason I have an opinion. Just letting you know!” Another person complimented her performance, saying, “Best dance of the night! The score ought to have been higher.

Who’s at Risk and Who’s Rising?
Feldman and Johnson received the lowest scores of the contentious evening, while Andy Richter received the second-lowest score of 16 out of 30 for his Tango with Emma Slater.

Stewart and Davis completed the bottom three. After total scores and votes were counted, Baldwin and Savchenko ended up in the bottom three as well. Four couples matched for the night’s highest score of 22 out of 30 at the top of the leaderboard.

Robert Irwin and Witney Carson dazzled with a Tango, Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas gave a powerful Cha Cha, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa brought excitement with a Jive, and Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik dazzled with their Quickstep.

Heartfelt Goodbyes from the Removed
The eliminated couples gave a few parting remarks to the crowd as they exited the stage. Corey said that he felt particularly sorry for Johnson, his partner, saying, “Jenna is incredible. Personally, I feel awful for her because she deserved better. Last year, she was the queen. In my opinion, she deserves to win the title each year.

In a note to admirers, Baron also mentioned that his boyfriend, Stewart, had been the reason behind his actions. He stated that he had “wanted to” win for her, adding, “I haven’t been coached in a while, so to get off my butt was awesome.”

Irwin’s Electric First Dance Leaves Judges and the Internet in Awe
As we previously reported, on September 17, the “Dancing with the Stars” Season 34 premiere got underway in typical showbiz fashion. But Irwin, a well-known animal conservationist and television personality, stole the show and the evening.

Together with professional dancer Carson, the nature-lover performed a stunning jive to Steppenwolf’s well-known hit song, “Born to be Wild.” Irwin first positioned himself on a Land Rover parked in the middle of tall grass, creating a safari-themed scenario.

The charming TV personality used a pair of binoculars to aim at Carson, then leaped off the car’s hood and sprinted to his accomplice.

Every eye was riveted to the floor as the two danced, kicked, flipped, and dipped their way through a performance. The ballroom erupted in applause when Irwin and Carson, dressed in eye-catching matching outfits, performed with such accuracy and vigour.

Judge Hough was overcome with admiration after he and Irwin’s sister shared the prized mirrorball trophy in Season 21. He lavished Irwin with compliments, even making a light-hearted inquiry about whether the 21-year-old had been training covertly for all these years.

Hough said, “That was one of the best first dances I’ve ever seen on this show,” and fans enthusiastically concurred online.

“Robert was hands down the best performance of the night #DWTS #robertirwin #minneapolisbct,” said one fan. Another added, “I feel bad for every other contestant ngl Robert’s gonna take the mirror ball no question 👏🏼.” “Excellent! According to another admirer, “He’s dancing like a pro.” One supporter extended the praise by exclaiming, “my [sic] winner.”

“Robert had the best dance of the night omg!!” said another admirer, echoing the feelings. #DWTS Whitney’s [sic] choreography was flawless. “The best ‘DWTS’ premiere in a long time was that one. One admirer exclaimed, “I’m betting on Robert & Whitney [sic] 🪩 #DWTS.”

One spectator even emphasised how wonderfully Irwin performed in spite of the fact that he had never danced before.

Fans brutally tear Feldman apart as his tango fails.
One contestant’s turn on the dance floor made fans cringe, even though Irwin’s performance was amazing. Feldman, who has a long history in films, tried the tango with professional dancer Johnson but didn’t do well.

Wearing sparkly outfits, Feldman wore a black suit and Johnson a striking, figure-hugging two-piece, the two danced to Billy Joel’s “It’s Still Rock & Roll To Me.” Feldman directed them with strong dance as Johnson kicked and swirled.

The routine received scathing criticism online from viewers who didn’t keep back, despite their best efforts. Armchair reviewers quickly vented their rage, calling the performance one of the worst of the evening.

“It hurts to watch! One observer commented, “Oh Corey, that wasn’t good,” while another wrote, “Yell at me if you want!!!! 🤪.”

The statement, “Next week he’s gonna go he can’t even move him and Andy are the first to go [sic],” was even made by another person. One reviewer said, “He knew the steps but has no rhythm at all,” while another said, “Nope don’t like that 😒 [sic].”

Unfortunately, there was more criticism to come. “Sadly, he won’t make it very far because this season has too many outstanding dancers. According to one onlooker, “He’s seeing the bottom [sic].”

More internet users made less optimistic predictions about Feldman and Johnson’s futures during the season. Even someone said they were sorry for Johnson.
