‘Full House’ Actress Lori Loughlin and Husband Mossimo Giannulli Separate After 27 Years – Details
The actress and the fashion designer are at a turning point in their relationship after more than 20 years together, and a spokesman has shared their plans.
According to People, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli have formally separated as of October 2, 2025. As they work through this new phase, the couple, who have daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli, are spending time apart.

“They are taking a vacation from their marriage and living separately. Elizabeth Much, Loughlin’s attorney, stated that there are currently no court procedures underway.
Online responses show a combination of sympathy and cynicism. One netizen posted on Instagram, saying, “Unfortunately. So depressing. “Is it because of the college scandal?” inquired another.Has that been simmering for years, or what?

Speculation grew on Facebook. “Might have been the ultimate fallout from the college scandal,” wrote another. “People grow and change and don’t always find themselves wanting the same thing anymore,” someone else observed.
While some weren’t at all surprised, others wondered if Loughlin’s marital troubles had finally caught up with her legal troubles. Others wrote off the news as just another Hollywood breakup, while others thought the couple had already parted ways.
Shortly after Loughlin was seen dining with actor James Tupper in West Hollywood, the split was made public. Outside The Bird Streets Club, a secret hangout for the city’s elite, the two were spotted having a lengthy talk and briefly hugging each other.
The outing was later described as strictly amicable by Loughlin’s spokesperson, who also mentioned that she and Tupper have previously collaborated on projects together, including co-starring in the 2023 movies “A Christmas Blessing” and “Fall Into Winter.”

Years before, when they were both involved in the 2019 college admissions bribery scandal, their private lives were already being scrutinized by the public.
Although neither girl participated in rowing, prosecutors disclosed that they had paid $500,000 to get their daughters admitted as rowing recruits to the University of Southern California (USC). Over fifty parents, coaches, and university administrators were implicated in the investigation, which was part of a larger federal crackdown.

Giannulli and Loughlin both entered guilty pleas. Loughlin was freed in December 2020 after spending two months behind bars at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California. In addition, she was sentenced to 100 hours of community service, two years of supervised release, and a $150,000 fine.
During a virtual sentencing session, Loughlin admitted to intentionally taking part in a plan to give her daughters an unfair advantage while applying to colleges.

She acknowledged that even though she thought she was doing out of love, the decision ultimately undermined her morals and her daughters’ achievements.
She also acknowledged the wider social ramifications of her choice, pointing out that it had exacerbated already-existing disparities. Loughlin became tearful as she was finishing her remarks, apologizing for her decisions and reaffirming her will to accept responsibility and move on.
“I sincerely, deeply, and profoundly apologize,” the TV personality said in court.I’m prepared to accept the repercussions and put things right.”
In the meantime, Giannulli was released to community confinement in April 2021 after reporting to prison in November 2020 and spending five months in the Federal Correctional Complex in Lompoc, California. In addition, he was sentenced to 250 hours of community service, two years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.

The pair had been hailed as a model of Hollywood tenacity long before their legal troubles. In 1997, the “Full House” star wed fashion designer Giannulli.
During an interview with Closer Weekly in 2016, Loughlin talked candidly about how strong their marriage is. “My marriage has lasted for eighteen years! She remarked, “I always [knew] I was in it for the long haul.”
Knowing when to let things go had been crucial, she said, reflecting on the significance of choosing peace over pride. “Just always remember to pay attention to your partner and pick and choose your battles carefully,” Loughlin said. “Don’t sweat the small stuff, let it slide.”

She also emphasized how important it is to set aside specific time for each other despite their hectic schedules. As a method to catch up and rekindle their relationship at the end of each week, Loughlin disclosed that she and Giannulli had a custom of setting aside Friday nights for dinner dates.
