During a recent address, Donald Trump made an eyebrow-raising remark that left some in the audience surprised and many chuckling.
In an unexpected and illuminating moment, the president opened up on his prospects of entering heaven.

The commander-in-chief spoke candidly to reporters on October 12, 2025, about his Christian beliefs, the conflict in Ukraine, and his chances of entering paradise.
An Odd Admission from the Air
It began when a reporter questioned Trump about a startling remark he had made earlier: that he might be rewarded with a place in heaven if he helped put an end to the war in Ukraine.
“How is this beneficial? “Is it beneficial?” the reporter asked. Trump answered with his trademark smile and startling openness:
“I’m being a little charming, you know. Nothing, in my opinion, will bring me to heaven [sic].
“Well, I’m really, I think, I’m not maybe heaven-bound,” he said after laughing. As we take off in Air Force One, I might be in heaven right now.
“I don’t know if I’ll be able to make heaven.”
Trump, who regularly boasts of his support from evangelical supporters, publicly questioned his own spiritual destiny in a moment that was equal parts revealing and irreverent.
In a rare moment of humility, he added, “I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make heaven,” “But I’ve made life a lot better for a lot of people,” he said.

His remarks follow Trump’s recent hospital readmission. As previously reported, the president’s health has come under scrutiny again after an enigmatic hospital visit, a troubling summer diagnosis, and new test results.
On Friday, October 10, 2025, Trump, 79, returned to Walter Reed Medical Center for a planned hospital stay, three months after medical professionals identified a vascular ailment that may cause long-term issues for the aging leader.
The trip took place in spite of earlier reports that Trump had completed his yearly medical earlier this year, and it coincided with scheduled statements to US troops.
White House physician Capt. Sean Barbabella released a well-crafted statement detailing the president’s most recent examination a few hours later.
According to him, the visit was a component of Trump’s “ongoing health maintenance plan” and comprised a number of preventive evaluations, sophisticated imaging, and laboratory testing.
‘Exceptional Health’ for Trump: White House Doubles Down
The statement supplied with People stated that “President Donald J.
Trump remains in exceptional health, exhibiting strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance,” Barbabella reported. Trump, he continued, “continues to maintain a demanding daily schedule without restriction.”
Barbabella did not, however, provide information about the specific imaging tests that were conducted or the results of those preventive screenings, notwithstanding that positive evaluation.
However, he did attest that Trump had received his most recent COVID-19 and influenza shots, and that his test results were “exceptional.”
Based on data from the Heart Foundation, the statement claims that Trump’s cardiac age is 14 years younger than his true age.
Leg Swelling Caused a July Diagnosis
The most recent testing follows Trump’s diagnosis in July of chronic venous insufficiency, a disorder that primarily affects older persons and impairs blood flow in the legs.
The president’s slight lower leg edema, which lasted for several weeks, was the initial indication that something was wrong.
President Trump had a thorough evaluation with the White House Medical Unit after he complained, which included an echocardiography and vascular imaging to rule out more serious issues.
In his letter from July, Barbabella said, “Bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”
He pointed out that no signs of systemic illness, heart failure, kidney dysfunction, vascular disease, or deep vein thrombosis were present. According to reports at the time, Trump was feeling “no discomfort.”
Medical Professionals Warn: Safe Doesn’t Always Mean Benign
The diagnosis deserves attention, according to doctors CNN spoke with, despite the White House’s efforts to minimize it.
According to Dr. Jeremy Faust, an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, “this is a pretty normal part of aging, especially for someone in the overweight to obese category, which is where the president has always been.”
He continued, “But the bigger concern … is that symptoms like this do need to be evaluated for more serious conditions, and that is what happened.”
A cardiologist named Dr. Bernard Ashby went one step farther. “Even though he’s diagnosed with a benign condition, venous insufficiency, by itself doesn’t necessarily mean it’s benign,” he said. “The question is, what’s causing the venous insufficiency?”
Dr. Chris Pernell added his voice as well, cautioning that although the illness is not lethal, it can become incapacitating if left untreated. Age, obesity, inactivity, and extended periods of standing or sitting are risk factors that are typical of the president’s hectic schedule.
Hand Bruising Associated with Aspirin and Handshakes
The bruise on the back of Trump’s hand, which had sparked rumors on social media, was also included in the July update. It was nothing serious, Barbabella said.
“This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen,” the doctor said in a statement.
The Oldest President in History Is Under Constant Health Examination
Barbabella declared Trump “fully fit” to serve during his yearly physical in April, but the White House has persisted in releasing health bulletins in response to public demand.
Trump is still the oldest elected president at his age, and since Nixon, the media has been very interested in presidential physicals.
“President Trump remains in excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function,” Barbabella said back in April.
The White House now seems keen to project confidence after the completion of this most recent exam and the announcement of the results, stating that the commander-in-chief is capable, fit, and prepared for the future.
