“An American patriot of the deepest conviction, the finest quality and the highest caliber,” he said, and “a fearless warrior for liberty.”
Donald portrayed Charlie as a brave defender of liberty and considered his impact as a prominent voice for conservative values. He called him a loyal American as well. The president underlined that Charlie died while he was defending his faith and convictions on campus.
Referring to the killing as a “horrible, heinous, demonic act of murder,” the president said it had ended the life of a man who was committed to fortifying the nation. Donald claimed that in the weeks following Charlie’s passing, the organization’s influence had only increased. “In his final moments, Charlie testified to the greatness of America and to the glory of our Savior with whom he now rests in heaven,” said Donald. According to the president, Charlie’s legacy and message are now even more relevant.

Several high-ranking Trump administration officials, members of Congress, and well-known conservative media personalities attended the event.
