The six-year-old was eager to start first grade.
Emmy had celebrated her kindergarten graduation from Euharlee Elementary School just weeks before she

passed away. The 6-year-old was eager to start first grade, according to a tribute posted by Bartow County Schools.

She was excited to meet her classmates again and had even chosen a dress with a rose motif for Open House.

She was affectionately referred to as “Little Momma” by her instructor due to her concern and empathy for other pupils.

Emmy was also recalled by the district as a young child who “never met a stranger.” She had a smile that lit up every space she entered, loved everyone, and was always willing to provide an embrace.

The family was already dealing with heartbreak.
The family had already been dealing with another devastating loss in the days preceding Emmy’s hospital

visit. In a heartfelt Facebook message on July 26, Emmy’s mother, Abigail McKenzie Street, expressed her grief over Zachery’s passing.

Abigail considered the qualities Emmy inherited from him in the post. “All of my daughter’s quirks that she inherited, being sly, her crazy laugh when she gets too wound up, her wide grin.”Her large feet, her lovely

little nose, her naturally puffy little eyes, her sick sense of humor, a tan I’ll always be envious, and her innate ability to attract people are all highlights of Abigail’s post.

The Family Anticipated a Standard Process
Emmy went to the hospital for what was

supposed to be a “routine” tonsillectomy, according to her family, as reported by WSB-TV. Rather, on July 27, the young girl passed away.

Her family was abruptly left organizing a funeral and looking for answers instead of going back home to finish getting ready for first grade.

Emmy’s sister recalled the adored little girl.
Jordan, Emmy’s sister, posted a sorrowful tribute on Facebook while family members tried to come to

terms with the death. We feel as though we are trapped in a terrible dream because yesterday was the worst day of our lives.

We are unable to comprehend Emersyn’s visit with Jesus yesterday afternoon. She didn’t even have a genuine chance at life because she was only six years old.”

Jordan claimed that although she had many unanswered concerns, she took solace in the fact that her sister’s brief life had been filled with love:

“Although I’m deeply saddened, I also find comfort in the knowledge that she had the happiest six years of her life.

She was constantly grinning and showing goodwill to everyone in her vicinity. Her heart was larger than the sun, her laugh was infectious, and she had the most stunning large brown eyes.

Jordan continued, “I wish she was still here with us, but I’m sure she’s up there catching up with daddy and in the arms of Jesus.”

She also thought of their strong relationship. “I always took her with me since she was my best friend. She aspired to

be exactly like her big sissy. I was even granted permission to give her the name Emersyn Paisleigh Bridgers.

A Daily Procedure
The tonsils are removed during

a tonsillectomy, which is most frequently done on youngsters, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Typically, the procedure takes 20 to 30 minutes.

More than 530,000 tonsillectomies are carried out on children under the age of 15 in the US annually, according to additional

information from ABC News. Although the surgery is usually well tolerated, bleeding, respiratory problems, dehydration, and persistent pain are possible risks.

Investigators are still awaiting more medical information, and authorities have not stated that Emmy’s death was caused by a tonsillectomy complication.

The Community Joined Forces for Emmy

The Bartow County community has come together in support of Emmy’s family while the inquiry is ongoing. Alvis Miller & Sons Funeral Home decided to pay for her funeral and burial in full, according to

the family’s GoFundMe site. Instead, all donations will go directly to Emmy’s family as they grieve, according to the organizers.

Along with announcing a biker escort to go with Emmy on her last trip, the fundraiser urged supporters to “pink it out!” by donning pink clothing or adorning motorcycles with pink ribbons.

Visitation was planned on August 4 from 2 to 4 p.m., followed at 4 p.m. by a celebration of Emmy’s life, according to Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. As friends and family were ready to bid each other farewell,

Jordan thought about the enduring influence her younger sister had on her life. “In a lot of ways, you saved me.

I already wear my heart on my sleeve, but you inspired me to do so more. to forgive with ease and to love loudly. “To laugh whenever you can and never refuse a sweet treat!”
