A CNN article about Joe’s diagnosis stated that his cancer had spread to the bone and had a Gleason score of 9, Grade Group 5.According to the statement from the 83-year-old’s office, “the cancer

appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management, even tho this represents a more aggressive

form of the disease.” Joe and his family were discussing treatment options with his doctors at the time.

In a post on X, Joe responded to the news by saying, “Cancer touches us all.” Together with his spouse,

Dr. Jill Biden, he continued, “we have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.” We are grateful for your love and support.

For the Biden family, cancer has always been very personal.
Because Joe’s son Beau Biden, a former Delaware attorney general and veteran of the Iraq War, passed

away from brain cancer in 2015 at the age of 46, the diagnosis had an additional extremely personal significance

for the Biden family. Long before his own diagnosis, cancer had already taken center stage in Joe’s public activities.

As vise president in 2016, Joe was asked to head a White House task team aimed at curing cancer by then-President Barack Obama. With the “Cancer Moonshot” plan, which aims to lower the cancer

However, as information about Joe’s personal condition became available, it also became apparent how

long the illness might have existed. According to Dr. Ezekiel J. Emanuel, an oncologist and former provost at the University of Pennsylvania, Joe “had it while he was president.”The physician stated, “He

did not develop it in the last 100 to 200 days.” He most likely had it during the beginning of his presidency in 2021.

Jill, meantime, has openly admitted that her husband’s illness has interfered with his day-to-day activities.

According to a Fox News article regarding Joe’s health and Hunter’s comments afterward, Jill had earlier informed the hosts of “The View” that the former president was still following his schedule but

had significantly slowed down.She stated in June, “I think the combination of everything and the meds he’s taken has made life a little more tough these days. I mean, Stage 4 cancer is— and he’s 83.

In an interview with Paddy O’Connell for BBC Politics and BBC News, Hunter was asked directly how

the family has been with Joe’s diagnosis. “It’s really tough, Paddy,” Hunter answered. “That’s the real answer.”

The focal point of the Biden family, according to Hunter, is his father. “Not just because of who he is as the public person, but completely because of who he is to each one of us, down to his grandchildren

“The cancer has spread,” Hunter continued, stating that the illness has advanced beyond what many

people could have known. It has spread to his bones and other areas. “It’s really painful,” he added. And in many ways, it’s quite crippling. However, he is still at large.
