Inside Carrie Underwood’s Lavish $500K Wedding: The $150K Ring and More!

Inside Carrie Underwood’s Reported $500,000 Wedding with the Father of Her 2 Kids, Who Proposed with a $150K Ring

Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood recently celebrated their fifth anniversary. It is said that the lavish nuptials cost half a million dollars. The devoted wife and mother of his boys accepted the former professional ice hockey player’s proposal with a $150,000 engagement ring before they were married.

When Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher first met in 2008, the “American Idol” winner had no intention of getting married, so their love story appears like something out of a fairytale.

Nevertheless, in spite of their difficulties during their courtship and marriage, the couple has found what works for them and is still going strong; they recently celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary on July 10.

First Meeting of Carrie Underwood and Her Husband
Carrie wasn’t interested in marriage or a long-distance romance until her bassist Mark Childers offered to introduce her to his friend, Canadian National Hockey League star Mike.

The singer of “Jesus, Take the Wheel” was concerned that being apart from someone could make dating more challenging than it already was. She was also apprehensive about going on a blind date with a foreign national.

Even though Carrie thought it would be unpleasant, she proposed they meet backstage during one of her performances. Their physical chemistry was off the charts, so even though the exchange was informal, it turned out to be worthwhile.

She then sent Mark a text message that said, “hot, hot, hot.” Mike felt she was even more attractive in person than she appeared on television, thus they were instantly attracted to each other.

They spoke on the phone for three months before getting together once more, which provided them with the ideal setting for their first in-person date, which happened on New Year’s Eve of 2008 and resulted in their first kiss.

It’s interesting to note that Mike wasn’t much of a PDA person, so the country music artist had to start the kiss and force him to kiss her in public.

Because of the nature of their professions, they didn’t see one other during their dating period for weeks at a time. But since they were both well-known, they understood that this was a given and knew what to anticipate.

Furthermore, since they were both autonomous individuals, Carrie was never upset by Mike’s frequent travels. She once said that because she trusts Mike, he is the only guy about whom she has never had to worry.

Carrie Underwood’s Proposal from Mike Fisher

Carrie and Mike made the decision to go for a peaceful stroll in the middle of a snow-covered woodland in December 2009. Mike proposed to Carrie at this special moment, and she was giddy with nostalgia for the occasion.

He called her by her entire name, got down on one knee, and made a proposal. Carrie recalled her response to the proposal: “I tackled him in the snow.” I wasn’t even paying attention; I didn’t even remember to glance at the ring.”

The engagement ring was created by Jonathan Arndt and had a perfect yellow diamond estimated to weigh more than five carats, making it worth over $150,000.

After Mike proposed, they prayed together, incorporating their common faith. Both of them were ecstatic and prayed to God to keep an eye on their future, their marriage, their plans, and themselves.

Carrie’s agent came out of the woods and into the Hollywood flashing cameras to announce their engagement.

While acknowledging that their wedding date was still pending, the representative said, “I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier.” Mike reaffirmed the good news as well. It was stated that he said they were both happy about becoming engaged.

Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood’s Gorgeous Wedding

In front of 250 friends and family members, the couple got married on July 10, 2010, at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia. However, the tale had started far earlier before Carrie took her vows.

Wedding coordinator Jayne Bubis described Carrie and Mike’s big day as “a spiritual expression of thier love.” Their wedding included classical music and their favorite Bible passages, tying in their love for God, their loved ones, and their faith.

Mike and Carrie said of their big day in a statement they gave to a media outlet: “We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!”

They combined the Southern charm of Georgia with the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown, and their wedding reportedly cost a whooping $500,000. They had even reserved every one of the resort’s 251 rooms, according to sources.

The singer of “Cowboy Casanova” reportedly arrived at her wedding in a helicopter, as if things could not get much more glitzy. Visitors were allowed unrestricted access to the hotel’s private golf course and lake, providing them with their fair share of luxury.

There was a floral-decorated reception and an abundance of food and beverages for attendees at the large celebration. It’s noteworthy to note that, despite certain glitzy embellishments like the helicopter, many who went described the wedding as more of a pleasant celebration than your typical chaotic Hollywood wedding.

Speaking about the atmosphere of the day, Jayne revealed, “They wanted a laid-back environment where everybody could be together and have a good time.”

The pair also didn’t focus on celebrities, even though it was reported that Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Simon Cowell—three former “American Idol” judges—would be present. They reportedly did this because they wanted to spend their special night interacting with those who mean a lot to them.

On the wedding day, Carrie talked about her father and how important it is to spend time with those who matter most to them. He was talking about his and my mother’s wedding in this small room as he prepared to walk down the aisle arm in arm with his daughter, Carrie recounted with a laugh. He claimed that he worried he would pass out during their marriage.

Wearing a Chantilly lace and silk organza Monique Lhuillier wedding gown, Carrie exchanged vows with the love of her life beneath a stunning lakeside tent on her special day. “Carrie desired something magnificent and enchanted. Even though she frequently dresses in evening gowns, Monique said, “This had to be really special.”

The unique drop-waist wedding dress included a Chantilly lace corset bodice embellished with silk flowers and crystals. It took over 400 hours to build and was crowned with a chapel-length circular veil covered with pink and clear crystals and secured with a pink ribbon.

Her husband’s stunning bespoke diamond tiara, crafted in 18-carat white gold and containing 40 carats of diamonds, completed her ensemble. The jeweler who created her wedding bands and engagement ring also created the diamond flowers and vines that encircled the tiara.

Melissa Schleicher, the singer’s daytime bridesmaid and makeup artist, recalled, “When we put her tiara on, she looked at me and said, ‘I’m getting married!'” She’s finally discovered her true love. Her prince charming is Mike.”

At her wedding, Carrie donned two different gowns. Monique also made this one, which she changed into for the reception. The outfit featured a corseted party dress with a tattered organza skirt, a jeweled bodice, and straps.

She declared, “I want to dance and have fun” for the celebration. I thought, “Why not show off her amazing legs?” after noticing them.” The second gown’s designer gave an explanation.

Carrie gave her bridesmaids a selection of exquisite Swarovski diamonds to chose from, and Monique complimented her on how wonderful she looked on her wedding day. “I thought she looked like one of the most gorgeous brides I ever worked with–she has this spark in her eyes and a confidence, she owned that look,” the stylist said.

However, the handsome husband of the artist matched Carrie’s bouquet with a white boutonnière paired with a black two-button suit. The couple’s decision to serve cupcakes rather than a wedding cake is one of the many intriguing wedding-related elements.

In an earlier interview, Carrie spilled some information about her wedding ahead of time, saying, “We’re kind of doing cupcakes.” She clarified that even though she views herself as conventional, she wanted to take a somewhat different approach to make sure that everyone enjoyed themselves.

Ivey Childers owns Ivey Cake, a cake store in Franklin, Tennessee, where the cupcakes were created. In addition, Carrie’s close friend Mark, who paired the singer with her future husband, is married to Ivey. Carrie boasted that Ivey was an accomplished baker, saying that she “makes the most amazing cupcakes in the universe.”

The entire audience gave them a standing ovation when she eventually made her way down the aisle, said her vows, and planted a kiss with her now-husband.

Almost Ten Years of Love

The pair, who have been together for 14 years, uses social media to commemorate their wedding anniversary. Carrie shared a photo of herself and her hubby online in honor of their 11th anniversary.

She acknowledged in her commentary that she was surprised by how quickly time had passed, but she was also excited about their future together. Despite their more than ten years of dating, she claimed she still views him as her boyfriend.

Mike named Carrie the ideal spouse for him and included a photo from their wedding day in his 11th anniversary Instagram post. When asked what the key was to their good marriage, his wife answered that Skype, communication, and trust were essential.

Examining the Offspring of Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher
Isaiah Michael Fisher, the couple’s first child, was born on February 27, 2015, and he made his baseball debut in September 2021. Carrie posted a photo of herself with him on Instagram and said she felt more anxious about him than she did about her husband playing hockey.

Carrie posted a photo of their family in November that featured their second son, Jacob Bryan Fisher, looking adorable in his Halloween costume.

Carrie experienced several miscarriages few months into her various pregnancies following the birth of their first son. Mike, though, was certain they would have another boy.

She had always thought of miscarriages as one of those horrible things that happened to other people, and she had never imagined having to deal with one herself, so it was a really sad time for her.

Her husband boldly predicted that one day they will have a second son, a son named Jacob. Mike responded to Carrie’s question about how he could be so certain by saying that he had wrestled and been really honest with God.

He felt that during his encounter with God, God revealed to him that they will have a son, Jacob. Not long afterward, Carrie became pregnant. Sadly, though, she miscarried once more.

Carrie eventually felt bad for being angry with her creator, but not before she had an open discussion with God and expressed her feelings.

She told God that since she could no longer afford to miscarry, they had to either have another child or not. Thankfully, she became pregnant, and an ultrasound revealed that everything was well.

Later, when their second son was born, they discovered the meaning of his name through the narrative of Jacob, who struggled with God to receive his blessing. On January 21, 2019, Carrie Underwood gave birth to her second child without incident.
