Homeless Woman Discovers $1 Million in Trash, Returns It Only to Be Kicked Out by Ungrateful Owner
Homeless Lady Finds $1 Million in Trash Bin, Returns It to Ungrateful Owner Who Kicks Her Out — Story of the Day
An haughty businessman degraded and threw out a homeless woman after she gave him back his $1 million. Years later, karma caught up with him.

50-year-old Edith was homeless and relied on her job at an animal shelter for financial assistance. She alternated between living beneath a bridge, on the street, and these days in an alley where, unlike the road and the bridge, no one bothered her as she slept.
Edith had a wonderful family to take care of her as she worked as a pastry chef. However, she lost everything in the house fire, including her daughter and husband.
Edith was devastated for a considerable amount of time following the awful incident. She spent some time living with her parents, but after they departed to live in paradise, she was left on her own.
Edith lived off the money her parents gave her for a few days because she was still a young girl and didn’t have a job. However, she eventually incurred debt and lost her parents’ house as well.
Fortunately, Edith’s neighbor was gracious enough to talk to his buddy and secure her employment at the animal shelter, where she had spent the previous ten years.

It was fortunate for Edith that she didn’t have many duties at the shelter since as she grew older, she frequently complained of knee trouble. All the woman had to do was make sure the garbage bags were disposed of on schedule and clean the shelter each day.
When she went to dispose of the plastic bags one day, she found that some of the packets were left outside the trash cans and the bins were already full.
One of the bags suddenly ripped off the edge, dumping a dollar into the floor as she started to pick them out one by one and stuff them into the trash pail. She was confused when she unzipped the bag and saw multiple bundles of cash inside.
Her gaze stunned Edith beyond belief. She had a fleeting thought about how her life would be different if she had all those dollars. She could construct a home, get her knee fixed in a reputable hospital, and, most importantly, lead a happy life.
Just as Edith was getting buried in her thoughts, she heard a car honk from behind. The driver said, “Hello, old lady, please get out of the way.” “You are obstructing the path!”
She hurried back to the shelter after regaining her sense of reality, picked up the bag, and gave it to her supervisor, Bill.

“Where in the world did you find this?” Startled, Bill questioned her.
The trash cans were close to it. That’s a big sum of money—I didn’t count it. The proprietor must be concerned. How are we going to locate him? Edith asked.
Edith, it’s a million bucks! We also don’t need to search for him. A few hours ago, he stopped by and left his business card. It appears that his housekeeper had left the incorrect luggage behind and left.
Edith commented, “Well, that’s a relief then.” “Anyway, I’ll go now that my work is done.”
Edith, hold on a minute. Adam remarked, “I need a favor from you.”

Would you kindly go to his house and give it to him? He stated it was urgent and seemed quite tense. He even left money so I wouldn’t have to pay for the fare. Either way, he’s only two blocks away. It’s a short walk there, but you are familiar with these wealthy folks. Could you kindly do this for me? I have an urgent task to complete.
“Okay, I’ll take care of it,” Edith answered, taking the bag and leaving.
Instead, Edith walked to the man’s house and kept the fare for herself. The home was huge, and in front was a vast, exquisite garden. After glancing around, Edith realized she might easily become lost in that place. She actually took a while to reach the door and ring the bell. She was greeted by an elderly woman as the door opened.
Is this Mr. Carter? Edith said, “I’m here to give him his money back.”

“My goodness, you discovered that at last? I sincerely appreciate you. The woman clasped Edith’s hands in hers and said, “Thank you.
“Hey honey, who’s there?” Mr. Carter stated upon exiting. In addition to his round glasses, he was dressed in a suit.
“Honey, look what this woman found! Money!” She deserves our gratitude. stated Mrs. Carter.
Edith smiled kindly at Mr. Carter. “Mr. Carter, this is your cash.” I came across it. Edith started to say something, but Mr. Carter interrupted. Yes, that’s right, all right. Simply place it on the stairs, then walk out. And Linda, why are you clasping her hand?
Edith looked at him in confusion.
How come? Because of the dirt on your hands and the bag, I am unable to touch it. Just stop there, then. A helper from our team will take it.
Edith quietly dropped the luggage and turned to walk away, but Mrs. Carter intervened. Would you mind joining us for tea? You traveled to our place in great distance only to give the money back.

“So?” Mr. Carter stared at his spouse. “You don’t need to treat her with such consideration. Please take this and go. Mr. Carter threw a $100 bill to the ground. “I think that’s enough for her.” Just take a look at her—even $10 would do just fine.
Although Edith’s eyes filled with tears, she remained silent. After taking the money and thanking Mrs. Carter, she turned to leave.
Bill made her an offer to work full-time at the shelter the next day. Edith had never refused anything he had asked for, and her honesty had really pleased him.
Edith was able to rent a modest apartment shortly after using the money she made. Bill’s children later grew rather close to Edith as a result of their regular visits.
Edith made muffins for everyone one day when they were all around for dinner. After tasting the muffins, Bill was so thrilled that he advised Edith to launch her own pastry company.

“Edith, I’ve known you for a long time. You’ve been employed by me for ten years now. Why don’t you launch your company? You’re an amazing baker!
Edith remarked, “Bill, I’m too old for that.” “Moreover, who will take care of it?”
“I’ll help you,” Anyway, I have some eager folks at the shelter who can help me. So why don’t you give it a shot? I’ll assist you monetarily as well, so don’t worry.
Edith considered it for a while before deciding to launch her own company. It was astonishingly successful, and within two years her financial circumstances improved. She soon became well-known and had three stores in the community.
Edith once got a sizable contract to cater a businessman’s party with sweets. However, it turned out to be Mr. Carter’s house when she arrived at the address given in the order. At the front entrance, she stopped all of her staff and walked right to Mr. Carter.
“Mr. Carter, I hope you remember me,” Edith remarked. “Do you still remember that $1 million you lost?”
He was taken aback. “You? Why are you in this place?

Edith gave him a smile. “Well, you ordered something for a party tonight from my shop. I wanted to let you know that I gave my staff the order to bring all of the pastries we had prepared back to our shop. You won’t serve them at your party.
How come? How is it possible to abruptly cancel? I’m here with some very big investors. How will they perceive me? Mr. Carter was very enraged.
Edith remarked, “You can yell as much as you want, but we won’t carry it out.” Then she pulled out a $100 bill and gave it to him. Additionally, I hope that this $100 and your conceit will enable you to arrange for tonight’s celebration. Regarding the pastries I’ve prepared, I’m going to donate them to the homeless rather than to a sleazy salesman like you!
At Mr. Carter’s party, everyone looked at him with sympathy, and he just stood there looking humiliated.
