Viewers Blast Mark Wahlberg & Halle Berry in ‘The Union’ for ‘No Chemistry’ & Her Hair: ‘So Awkward’
Many are dissatisfied with Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry’s performance in “The Union,” pointing out that they don’t have any chemistry. The director of the picture did, however, disclose why the romance was so subdued.
Hollywood actors Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry’s Netflix film “The Union” has been a huge hit. Nevertheless, for a variety of reasons, internet users are not thrilled with the performers’ performances, even if the film is among the most watched in the US.
From August 12 to August 18, the romantic spy thriller ranked as the top film on Netflix’s “Top 10 Films in the US” list. It was far superior to several well-known films, including “Jack Reacher,” “Night School,” and the cult favorite from the 2000s, “White Chicks,” which came in at number 10.
Despite the data above suggesting that viewers can’t stop watching “The Union,” negative reviews on the film’s content have a negative impact on the film’s statistical success.
Critics believe Berry and Wahlberg didn’t provide their finest performance, especially when it came to Berry’s portrayal, and are disappointed by the absence of synergy between their personas.
In the comments area of a media outlet’s post about the film, one Facebook user shared their opinion, asserting that “The Union” is becoming a “must watch” movie.
“I wonder who is saying all this?” they wrote. I think Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg don’t have chemistry, the writing was terribly written, and the tempo was erratic.”
“It hurts to watch Halle Berry,” voiced criticism from another internet user. Another person said, “This is a terrible movie. They have no chemistry together and are utterly boring.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen two human beings with less chemistry than these two,” another Reddit member echoed. Complete garbage, this film.”
Another critic said, “This movie did not deserve to be made.” Another strong-willed social media user wrote, “This ‘The [Union]’ movie’s attempt at romance is so weird. Halle’s persona appears somewhat… She probably has a no-kissing provision in her contract.
However, some others brought up how Berry’s blonde and dark brown pixie cut seemed in the film. “Will I recall it the next week? Just Ms. [Berry’s] terrible hair,” a Reddit user claimed. Another internet user expressed even more contempt for the actress’ hairstyle by saying, “[Her] hair is distracting.”

“[The] person who picked up the hairstyle for Berry should never work again,” said an individual. Some expressed their want for Berry and Wahlberg to have at least one private moment together. Someone said, “I wanted them to kiss,” on X.
Although the actors in the movie took a lot of heat for their roles, other people found the movie entertaining. One admirer said, “I’m watching the movie ‘The Union.'” Fantastic film.”
“I gotta say, I laughed […] Great action scenes […],” said one more fan. I heartily endorse it [8.7/10.”

“The Union” director Julian Farino explained how Berry and Mark Wahlberg purposefully avoided sharing a kiss, to the disappointment of many viewers.
Farino recently spoke with a media outlet about the action film, which tells the tale of two estranged high school sweethearts: blue-collar construction worker Mike (portrayed by Wahlberg) and secret spy Roxanne (played by Berry).
He revealed that while Roxanne and Mike’s decision to forgo a kiss was “long debated,” they finally made the decision in an attempt to tantalize audiences with more.
“After we reach a certain point in the relationship, I believe you need to give yourself a lot of room to grow. Whenever we started a new project, Netflix would always tell us to consider it a potential three-movie idea. Therefore, in my perspective, we’ve definitely done okay if the audience leaves wanting to kiss,” Farino said.
It’s evident from Farino’s remarks regarding the decision to forgo a kiss between Berry and Wahlberg that he and the rest of the film’s crew succeeded in getting the desired result from the audience.

The criticism about the movie’s lack of intimacy and chemistry comes right after Halle Berry’s seductive outfit from the August 12 Los Angeles premiere of “The Union” had everyone’s mouths dropping. Online, her appearance created quite a commotion.
Berry stunned everyone with her stunning debut in a silky black outfit. This audacious ensemble made a statement rather than just being a stunner.

Featuring a tight waist, a deep V-neckline, and a flowery lace pattern, the knee-length dress artistically displayed just enough to keep the focus on the star.
The Ohio native struck poses for eager photographers from every angle, obviously enjoying the limelight. Her dress’s thin material offered enticing views that caused heads to turn.

Berry added a touch of refinement to her attire by selecting black shoes with semi-sheer mesh material and double leather straps.
Her face was equally intriguing. Berry radiated carefree grace with her chin-length chestnut hair fashioned in soft, beachy waves. She went for a beautiful, sun-kissed look with a bit of soft pink blush, a sparkle of gold highlighter, and a glossy nude pout, keeping her makeup basic with warm dramatic smokey eyes.
Berry wore understated yet elegant accessories. She wore round diamond-studded earrings on her ears and stacked a few little rings on her fingers. Her manicure, done in dazzling white, made a dramatic contrast.

With her recent appearance on the red carpet, Berry left little to the imagination and generated a whirlwind of responses from both fans and critics. “She looks good in it,” praised one ardent fan. I adore it as underwear, but not as much as a dress.
Berry’s audacious wardrobe choice seems to have some people questioning if it belonged in a boudoir rather than at a premiere. Another trending theme was glamour that defied age. Berry,58, had admirers in awe of her glowing youth. “58???? What????” cried out one stunned fan. They went on, “Dang, she looks beyond amazing ❤️❤️.”

Equally impressed, a different admirer said, “How is she 58? My mind is acting strangely! She looks amazing. 🔥” “I’ve seen the prettiest 58-year-old,” said one other person. There was no doubt among her followers that Halle Berry, at fifty-eight, remains the pinnacle of glamour.
But not everyone approved of Berry’s audacious ensemble. After voicing their criticism, one commentator suggested that people “put some clothes on and have some class.”
“She’s better than this,” mourned another, while a third remarked, “This ain’t an age-appropriate dress 🤦.” It’s evident that although Berry’s ensemble stunned a lot of people, it also sparked discussions about age, class, and style.

The effortlessly stylish Wahlberg, 53, joined her, demonstrating that age is no longer a hindrance to elegance. He wore a black pair of slacks, a muted blue zip-up jacket, and a white T-shirt for a stylish yet modest ensemble.

His effortlessly attractive suit was given a contemporary twist by his white sneakers. The actor was beaming broadly when he posed for a family shot with his supermodel wife and their children. They presented a picture-perfect family time together.
Berry and Wahlberg had obvious connection as they posed together. Critics’ comments were prompted by more than simply her daring attire, though. One individual remarked, “Low class hugging him dressed like that and he’s married.” One more person merely said, “Oh no no NO!”
