Maid Discovers a Hidden Family Secret After Finding Her Mother’s Photo in Her Boss’s House
Young Woman Gets a Job as a Maid and Notices Mother’s Framed Photo in Boss’s Bedroom – Story of the Day
Caroline went to her first assignment after landing a job in New York as a cleaning girl. Though it was a stunning Manhattan home, she was stunned by something. In the office was a picture of her mother. Then a man entered.

Caroline told herself, “I’m going to do a great job,” before starting her first project. A few days ago, she and her friend Melissa went to New York in hopes of realizing their ambitions of becoming Broadway stars.
However, before they could rent an apartment together, they had to obtain work. Fortunately, Caroline was hired by a home cleaning firm, while Melissa was hired by a clothes store.
It was flawless. Cleaning didn’t take much time, and she enjoyed it because it made her feel at ease. In addition, she could practice her singing if nobody else was home.

Regretfully, she didn’t think of her mother’s face before entering her first house. Helen, her mother, didn’t want her to reside in New York or pursue such absurd aspirations.
Not too far away, in Philadelphia, Caroline was born and raised. Her mother never mentioned her father, and she was born without a father. Helen detested New York for some reason. Caroline also needed to flee because she had given her protection her entire life.
She knew her mother would not approve of the relocation that she and Melissa were planning. Caroline thought she might even pretend to be ill in order to convince her to stay. Caroline, though, had to stand up for her goals. She lived it. She fled after leaving a small note on her mother’s dresser when she was sleeping.

It was strange that Helen had not called her in a few days. Caroline surmised, however, that she was probably pissed off. Hopefully, once Caroline had her Broadway debut, she would move past it. It was time to get serious about cleaning this place.
The agency director claims that since the residence is occupied solely by an elderly guy, it was never too untidy. Caroline didn’t waste any time getting started on cleaning when she eventually entered the house using the key beneath the mat as directed. She started in the kitchen, moved on to the living room, and then finished the bedroom.
“Sir, I’m almost finished. However, may I make a question? This woman—who is she?
She paused briefly at the door of a somber-looking office, but there were no signs prohibiting her from entering. She decided not to get too close to the desk and kept cleaning.

There were enormous bookshelves along the other wall and a gorgeous fireplace with a mantle on top. Caroline had only ever seen this type of office in movies.
She cleared everything as fast as she could, then she paused at the mantelpiece. There were a few photos on top, but she was particularly drawn to one. An image featuring her mother’s face. It was her, however she was at least eighteen years younger. She questioned aloud, “Why is my mother in this man’s pictures?”
She heard footsteps abruptly, and an older man walked into the office. “Hey, hi there! It looks like you’re the new housekeeper. Richard Smith is who I am. With a friendly smile, the man said, “I own this house.” “Are you through with this already?”

“Sir, I’m almost finished. However, may I make a request? Caroline paused, wishing the man would not become enraged if she inquired about the picture. “Who is this woman?”
“Who?” he questioned as he drew nearer to her and adjusted his spectacles. Yes, exactly. Helen is that. The love of my life was her.
Caroline felt her senses begin to ping. “Whatever became of her?” She felt compelled to inquire.
“She perished in a bus accident. At the same time, she was also expecting. Her mother detested me, therefore I was unable to attend the burial at all. It was absurd. I attempted but failed to go on. Richard said, taking off his glasses and heading for his chair. “Even now, I still love and miss her.”
“Sir, thank you for informing me. I apologize for interfering in this way. However, this woman resembles my mother a lot. It’s crazy,” Caroline said.

The senior gentleman scowled at her. “Explain what you mean.”
“Well, this woman and my mother Helen look absolutely alike. She is obviously older now, yet there is an uncanny likeness. She turned back to face Richard while making a gesture at the picture, saying, “I’m 98% sure this is her.”
“Helen? Helen is the name of your mother? Where were you raised?
With a shrug, she responded, “Philadelphia.” Now that she knew that this man might be her father if that was Helen, her eyes grew wide.
Richard put his hands over his lips. “This isn’t feasible,” he said. “May I have the phone number of your mother?”
She answered, “Sure,” and handed it to him.

He asked Caroline to stay here while he called her, and she complied.
After a few rings, her mother’s voice responded when he dialed from his workplace phone right then. “Hello? Is Caroline right?
After giving Caroline a quick glance, Richard made the decision to speak up first. “Is Helen Geller in here?”
Indeed. To whom am I speaking? On the other end of the line, Helen inquired.
“Helen, this is Richard,” he said, his voice growing more sentimental.
“Who is Richard? Give it a minute. Morris Richard? Now that years have passed, what do you want? For some reason, Helen’s voice hardened as she asked.
Richard and Caroline exchanged a bewildered look, but he went on. “What, after all these years, do you mean? I believed you to be deceased.
“What?”
Richard described his knowledge of the supposed event at the time he lost both his future wife and the unborn child. In addition, he described how Helen’s mother forbade him from attending the funeral and declined to speak with him thereafter. Helen, however, told him what she knew despite not understanding what he was talking about.
“You called and said you didn’t want to talk to me anymore, my mother informed me. Thus, I brought up my kid all by myself,” Helen disclosed, shocking Caroline.
“That isn’t the case… I would never give up on you, Helen. I never went on. I continued to think about you every day. I was sad for you. Richard went on, “I’ve been in agony thinking about you and our child for almost two decades,” but Helen remained silent.
“This is unbelievable what Mom would do. That was, however, her style. At last, Helen said, “I don’t know what to do now.” Hold on. How did you discover my continued existence?
Finally, Caroline said, “Mom, I’m here.” She assured her mother that everything was well in New York and quickly described what had happened.

“It’s unbelievable that this is even happening.” I am unable to question my mother for her unkind behavior toward us. Years have passed since her death. However, Caroline, when are you returning home? With a more assertive tone, Helen questioned her daughter.
“Until I achieve Broadway success, I will not be returning. And now, well, now I have even more reason to stay here, Caroline said, flashing a little smile at Richard.

Helen answered, “Okay, but I’m heading up to New York soon,” and disconnected up. Before one of them said anything, Richard and Caroline exchanged silent looks for a short while.
She chirped, “So, I guess you’re my dad.” That’s how they broke the ice, and he chuckled.
What lessons may we draw from this tale?
Permit your kids to follow their aspirations. Because her mother was too protective, Caroline fled. While you should provide guidance, you should allow your children make their own life decisions.
Some parents don’t really care about what’s best for you. Richard and Helen would never know why their mother had treated them so horribly.
Talk about this tale with your companions. It could motivate them and make their day better.
