Halloween Brings an Unexpected Memory for Mom as Kids Wear Costumes She Made for Her Son
3 Years after Son’s Death, Lady Opens Door on Halloween & Sees Kids in Costumes She Sewed for Him – Story of the Day
A grieving mother is shocked when children dressed as her deceased son’s Halloween costumes show up at her house to trick-or-treat. She checks his room right away and is about to be shocked with tears.

“Please, Mrs. Brown, think about it. This time of year, it’s not always possible to get away. This is the only route out, and you must overcome it. The psychotherapist advised Rosemary, 37, to decorate her home or celebrate Halloween.
Rosemary pressed her chin on her knuckles, her eyes full of tears. She felt anxious. “Am I capable of doing it? “Will it help me forget about my son’s fate on that Halloween?” she asked herself.
With a hesitant smile, Rosemary stood up to leave the clinic. In order to get décor, she went to the market. She took the doctor’s advise even though she didn’t feel like enjoying the holiday.
Three years had passed since Rosemary and her son Dave had fashioned glowering jack-o’-lanterns out of meaty pumpkins. Rosemary had been haunted by Dave’s death for three terrible years after he died on the morning of Halloween.
Rosemary’s husband, Lucas, was taken aback when he returned home on All Hallows Eve. He was shocked to see his house completely decked out in the Halloween spirit after being out of town on a work trip.

He came through the door with large boxes of items he had purchased from the city and exclaimed, “Rose, hey…hey…” “I’m so glad you’re taking this action. After all this time, I’m sure our son would be delighted to see you grinning.”
After giving Rosemary a kiss, Lucas went to get dressed. Rosemary stared into the jack-o’-lantern, tears streaming down her cheeks. For Dave, that was the highlight of the event. With his friends, he would always wager on who would have the most hilarious jack-o’-lantern.
That day, Rosemary’s home was stunning and ready for the ideal Halloween. Everyone was drawn to it, but one group of street youngsters in particular.
People we care about never really leave us. Death is incapable of touching some things.
They couldn’t help but believe that Rosemary was beckoning them over for a game of trick-or-treat with her adorned house. They were tempted to visit Rosemary’s house because they had never been there on Halloween before.
In costumes that would later cause the grieving mother to cry, the children marched to Rosemary’s house.
Rosemary heard a loud tap on the door as she was cleaning the crockery and setting the table for dinner. When she answered the door and saw a group of contented little children calling, “Trick or treat!” she became pale with terror.
Rosemary was astounded by what she saw. The children’s costumes were familiar to her. Three years prior, she had made them especially for Dave for Halloween, but he never wore them. On the morning of All Hallows Eve, he was killed in an accident while crossing the street.
Rosemary trembled. Glancing at the kids from head to toe, she closed the door.
“The shirt’s skeleton drawings, buttons, and embroidered… Dave asked me to make a cobweb-like patchwork for his witch hat. ‘D’ for Dave, and these pumpkin buttons… I did the sewing myself. What’s happening? How did they retrieve the Halloween outfits from my son’s room? Rosemary pondered.

“It cannot be.”
Rosemary hurried to her son’s room after giving the children some candy. She opened a trunk she had taken out from beneath the bed. There were no Halloween costumes for Dave.
Rosemary was taken aback. She began to perspire and sobbed while sitting on the ground. “Who abducted them? “Who gave those kids my Dave’s clothes?”
She noticed the condition of her late son’s room when she looked up. It appeared altered and deserted. Nearly everything he owned, including posters, superhero toys, and his favorite shoe collection, was gone. Rosemary discovered nothing but empty hangers in his closet.
A month earlier, she checked Dave’s room and everything was in order. She wanted to keep everything there in remembrance of her deceased son, so she never gave anything away. She was therefore perplexed to see Dave’s room almost completely empty. Rosemary called Lucas right away because she couldn’t comprehend what was happening.
“Everything is absent. Nothing that belonging to our son is visible here. What’s going on, darling? Who removed Dave’s belongings from this location?
Rosemary noticed a strange hesitancy on Lucas’ face at that moment. He just walked away, unable to meet her gaze.

“What’s happening, Lucas? Why do you remain silent? What happened to my son’s belongings? And why are those children dressed as him for Halloween?
Rosemary spotted Lucas staring at the plain wall in the kitchen after following him there.
“What’s going on, darling? Why don’t you say anything? I’m losing my mind. Would someone kindly let me know what’s going on at this house?
Lucas spun around, his eyes welling with tears. He gave Rosemary a hug and confessed.
“I know how much Dave still means to us, sweetie. However, I couldn’t see you being so ruined,” he started.
“My friend and I once went to the shelter at the end of this street. I thought of our son when I saw the little guys there. I therefore gave them everything he owned. Dave, not some weird random kid, comes to mind whenever I see those kids wearing our son’s clothing, jeans, or even shoes.
Rosemary started crying. “So, were those kids who came trick or treating to our house from the shelter?”
“They are, indeed! I noticed them wearing the outfits you had created for Dave on my way home this evening. I hoped you would be pleased to see them, so I asked them to our house for some candy.
Rosemary sobbed as she pushed herself into Lucas’s arms.
“Darling, thank you very much. What you did today is unknown to you.
“I did?” Lucas noticed an odd gleam in his wife’s eyes and became perplexed.

“Yes! Our son Dave was just like one of those young boys. I believe that adopting him and bringing him home as our son was what fate had planned for us to do.
Rosemary and Lucas were so happy that they started the adoption paperwork for Tom, the young child who made Rosemary think of the late Dave. Six months later, they took him home.
Rosemary has never been depressed since Tom came. Together, she, Lucas, and Tom led a happy and dreamy life. They also assisted in finding caring homes for the other kids in the shelter.
Another Halloween a year later…
“Mama, look…my jack-o’-lantern…you like it?” Tom showed Rosemary a beautiful jack-o’-lantern he had built and requested. When Rosemary understood that Tom was nothing more than a gift from heaven provided by her late son Dave, she broke down in tears of happiness.
“Darling, it’s stunning! It makes me think of a loved one. As they prepared for the evening, she sobbed and gave the youngster a hug.
