Heartbreaking News: 49ers’ Charvarius Ward’s Daughter Passes Away

49ers Star Charvarius Ward’s 1-Year-Old Daughter Dies

The 49ers cornerback shared a lovely picture of his late 1-year-old daughter, who was smiling while sitting in front of another loved one. He launched his nonprofit, Charvarius for Change, in 2021.

In addition to this picture, Charvarius sent a meaningful note that started by expressing his sadness over Amani Joy Ward’s death on Monday morning (October 28, 2024).

“She was the greatest blessing we could have hoped for,” he continued, “and her cheerful disposition made us smile from ear to ear.” She instilled in us an optimistic view on life, patience, and trust.

The grieving father, who attended Hinds CC (MS) for his first year of college, highlighted his daughter’s strength and courage.

He praised her for overcoming hardship at such a young age and for illuminating every space with her joy and charming smile.

Along with talking on how being Amani’s parents gave him and Monique, the girl’s mother, a unique view on the world, Charvarius also mentioned how this experience improved them both.

“She will always be her mother’s little girl and her father’s best friend.” “Amani Joy, you will always be loved and missed,” Charvarius said at the end of his caption.

Charvarius posted two posts on his Instagram Story in addition to his Instagram tribute. One of them featured the words “I’m Broken 💔💔💔💔” overlaid on a black background.

A cute picture of Amani wearing a onesie with the words “My Baby” inscribed in yellow was featured in his second post. My Life. Queen of my realm. My Heart. Everything I Own 💔💔💔💔.”

Similar to Charvarius, Amani’s grieving mother Monique posted an Instagram Story where she wrote, “My baby. God, why? 💔💔.

The 49ers’ official Instagram account also paid a touching homage to little Amani and her family on social media.

Once the football team had shared their grief, they wrote, “Amani truly embodied pure happiness and brought joy to all those around her with her sweet demeanor and contagious laugh.”

Lastly, they expressed their love and support for Monique and the 2023 NFC Pro Bowl player, saying that they stand together in mourning.

Amani’s father celebrated World Down Syndrome Day on March 21, 2024, by posting a series of touching photos and videos of the late infant on Instagram months before she passed away.

Pictures included Charvarius and Monique sharing heartwarming moments with Amani, as well as her grinning and inquisitive gaze at the camera.

In the long caption, the philanthropic parent acknowledged how much Amani was a blessing to him and Monique and acknowledged that he had once considered Down syndrome to be a disability before realizing it was “a gift from God.”

“Being Amani’s father has taught me to be patient and to let things happen as they happen. “We have no control over whether she had Trisomy 21, but we do have control over how we feel about it,” the NFL player revealed.

Charvarius continued by acknowledging that initially, he and Monique were depressed and angry, but it quickly passed after they saw their baby girl, who was born on November 17, 2022.

Charvarius also revealed that Amani had had heart surgery near the end of the letter, and he and Monique emphasized how much they loved her.

The Instagram account that Amani’s parents had created for her prior to her death features seven posts that document significant events in the adorable girl’s life, such as her birth and a video of her playing with her father.

We send our sincerest sympathies to Amani’s parents and other loved ones during this difficult time as they deal with their loss.
