Thanksgiving Drama: Husband Reveals Wife’s Affair to the Whole Family

Husband Discovers Wife’s Affair, Exposes Her and Secret Lover to Entire Family on Thanksgiving – Story of the Day

Michael’s world falls apart when he learns startling news concerning his health. However, his suspicion that his wife, Jen, has betrayed him—with the most unexpected person—deepens his anguish. Secrets are revealed, allegiances are put to the test, and one family’s Thanksgiving takes a sinister, unforgettable turn at a heated Thanksgiving dinner.

Michael stormed out of his parents’ house on Thanksgiving. Chaos broke out behind him, with chairs scraping, hands thrown in shock, and a flurry of words.

Half-full plates fell to the floor, and food splashed on the walls. Through the commotion, Jen’s voice cracked as she begged, “Please, Michael! Just listen to me, don’t leave!

Her hand was quivering as it reached out to him, her face hot and teary. However, he didn’t turn around. He was unable to.

Terry, his brother, stood close to the doorway, appearing like a little child caught in a lie, guilty and little. Their parents yelled at one another, each accusing the other of being the reason why everything had gone wrong.

A couple weeks prior to now…
Driving home from the hospital, Michael was in his vehicle. He kept thinking about what the doctor had said. His fingers were white as he clutched the driving wheel, unsure of how to tell Jen the news.

Would she abandon him? He felt a new rush of fear at the concept. He gathered his confidence as he sat outside the home and gazed at the black windows. His cell rang.

What time will you return? I’ve been holding out.

After inhaling deeply, Michael opened the door and went outside. She was there with a radiant smile. He made an effort to return the smile, but anxiety held him back like a shadow.

“Is everything okay?” Examining Michael’s face, Jen inquired. She looked into his eyes and saw the weight in his face.

Michael hesitated, his lips parched. He said, “We… we need to talk.”

With a gentle yet inquisitive smile, Jen cocked her head. Her voice was cheerful and friendly as she replied, “Well, before that, I have something for you.” Her pleasure was almost childlike as she reached out and took his hand. “Come along with me.”

She ushered him into the bedroom, where a small box on the bed was resting next to a pair of tiny baby socks. Michael gazed, bewildered, his thoughts lagging behind.

He managed to ask, “What… what is this?”

Jen’s eyes glistened. “I intended to take you by surprise! It wouldn’t be as special if I told you. She gave the box a nod. “Open it up now.”

Lifting the lid, Michael snatched it up with trembling hands. A positive pregnancy test was found inside. His mind was jumbled, and a cold went through him. This was not feasible.

“How, wait?” he stumbled.

Jen’s smile widened. “I’m not sure! I’m finally expecting after all this time! Are you not content?

As she embraced him, Michael responded, “Yes, I’m happy,” but as he held her close, his thoughts was racing with astonishment and hurt and questions were racing through his head.

He was bearing the burden of bad news after returning from the doctor’s office. He kept thinking about the doctor’s words: “You’re infertile.” You will not be able to conceive.

His world seemed to be falling apart. Everything he had ever imagined for his future with Jen was altered by this. And suddenly a horrible idea took over after seeing that positive pregnancy test.

There was just one reason. The person he trusted the most, Jen, whom he had loved for more than 15 years, had betrayed him.

Michael and Jen sat at the breakfast table a few days later. “So, this year’s Thanksgiving will be spent with your family?” Jen stirred her coffee and inquired. “Your parents, your brother, oh, and my parents are also coming along.”

Michael gave a nod. “Yes.”

Jen grinned as she looked down. However, let’s keep the pregnancy a secret for now. It’s still early. Maybe we should wait till Christmas, in my opinion. It feels unique for us to know for the time being.

Michael tried to maintain a steady tone as he said, “Whatever you want.” However, his innermost thoughts were far from serene. He wanted to yell and demand an explanation for her betrayal.

Even though his wrath was boiling inside of him, he wondered whether he could accept it in some way. Could he raise a child for someone else? Before finding out he was infertile, he had considered adoption, but this was different. He was kept back by the hurt of her treachery.

Jen watched him with her head tilted. “You’re off in your head again,” she remarked, chuckling.

Michael looked at the clock and said, “Yes, I’m sorry.” “I should leave now.” She bent to give him a farewell kiss, but when her lips met his, all he felt was contempt.

Work was the last thing Michael was thinking about as he climbed into his car and clutched the steering wheel. He had taken the entire day off in search of answers rather than to relax. His heartbeat quickened as he parked a short way from the house, staring at the front door.

In an attempt to validate his greatest fears, he had been waiting for this moment. A sight of the man Jen had choose over him was all he needed. He needed to find out who had replaced him and who was her child’s father.

His head had been full of questions ever since he learned of her affair. What had gone wrong with him? Was he insufficient? Only Jen could respond, but he wasn’t prepared to face her head-on. He required evidence, something indisputable. He needed to find out who her child’s father was first.

He was startled out of his reverie when a car approached. He saw Jen go outdoors, her expression relaxed and leisurely. Unaware that Michael was keeping a close eye on her, she got into the car and drove away.

As they navigated the streets, Michael quickly became aware of her destination. She paused in front of a house he was familiar with. His stomach twisted with shock and rage. She had picked HIM out of everyone.

Michael clutched the door handle with trembling hands, eager to rush inside and put an end to this. He desired to face them, yell, and cause chaos.

Then he had a more gratifying, colder thought. Why allow them to silently get away with it? He would sabotage them in public. He could wait until Thanksgiving, which was just a few days away. They would both pay for this transgression if he exposed them.

When Michael and Jen arrived at his parents’ house on Thanksgiving, Michael’s gaze went over the familiar faces: his dad, Roger, having a lengthy conversation with Jen’s parents, Carla and Scott, and his mother, Mila, carefully laying the table.

However, Terry, Michael’s older brother and the last person he wanted to see, was standing close to the doorway, smiling with that same self-assured smile.

He was more resentful than ever when he saw Terry. Terry had always been everyone’s favorite, the golden child, and incredibly endearing.

“Young brother!” Terry called, strode up, and, as he had done since they were young, gave Michael’s hair a friendly ruffle.

Michael tightened his jaw. He retreated a step and used a forceful swipe to push Terry’s hand away. “Don’t,” he said in a hurried voice.

“You’re not very courteous!” Terry turned to welcome others, laughing as if undisturbed.

Michael greeted his mother briefly in the kitchen, his thoughts on the next charade. Fake smiles and hesitant hugs filled the room as family members who didn’t often see one another tried to be close.

Perhaps this was the true meaning of Thanksgiving, Michael thought, a forced assembly of individuals who hardly accepted one another. At last, Mila invited everyone to have a seat and begin by expressing gratitude.

The others alternated, each expressing gratitude in a courteous manner. Michael knew exactly what he wanted to say when it was his turn.

It was Michael’s time at last. Holding his glass aloft, he stood up and looked around the table at everyone. “I want to express gratitude for one thing on this wonderful day,” he said steadily, “and that is that my lovely wife, Jen, is pregnant!

There was silence in the room. When Jen’s face went white, she hurried to her feet and leaned in his direction. “Michael, we agreed not to tell anyone yet,” she whispered.

Michael’s face became stern. With a low, sharp voice that cut through her like ice, he answered, “And we also agreed to be faithful in marriage.”

Unaware of the strain, Mila’s expression brightened. “Oh, Michael! “Congratulations!” she said, drumming her hands.

Carla added, grinning, “Yes, we’ve waited years for our daughter to give us a grandchild,” while Scott nodded in agreement.

Roger gave Michael a proud expression. “At last, my son will become a father! This is fantastic news.

A sour grimace twisted Michael’s lips. Yes, it’s fantastic, all right. His brows narrowed as he replied, “But it’s not the son you think.” “Because Terry is the child’s father.”

The table echoed with a collective gasp. Terry sat in startled silence, unable to look anyone in the eyes while his face went colorless.

“What are you saying, Michael?” Jen stared at him, her eyes wide with bewilderment, and her voice trembled. “Terry? What makes you believe that? This baby is yours, and you are my husband! Michael’s face hardened as he snatched his hand away from hers.

“Jen, don’t tell me lies. He answered sharply, “I saw you at his house.” “What made you pick him? After all? I’ve always felt inferior to Terry and never good enough, you know. Even my own wife chose him over me now.

Terry shifted uneasily and raised his palms in defiance. “It’s not like that, brother, come on. She was merely offering me some suggestions for my space. I sought her opinion, so she took several design lessons. That’s all.

Yes, Michael, that was all there was to it. I promise. Jen’s voice broke as she replied, “You must believe me.”

With icy eyes, Michael shook his head. “I’m infertile, Jen.”

Jen’s face lost its color. “What? You never told me, did you?

He muttered, “I learned the same day you showed me the test.”

“Please, Michael. I’ll stop communicating with Terry altogether. I swear I won’t see him ever again. “Please don’t abandon me,” she pleaded.

He answered in a bland tone, “You’ll receive the divorce papers tomorrow.” Sign them. I would never have done this to you, thus the one thing for which I am grateful today is that you have shown me who was really inferior here.

Michael put his glass down definitively, feeling the heat as he drank it in one quick motion. He turned toward the door without looking back, his steps purposeful and heavy.

Voices exploded behind him, rising in frenzied uncertainty and rage. He heard glimpses of Jen’s frantic cries, his mother’s horrified sobs, and his father’s efforts to reassure everyone. In the confusion he had left behind, he believed he could even hear plates clattering and food splattering against the walls.

When he got to the door, Michael hesitated for a second, holding on to the handle, and then firmly clicked it shut. This Thanksgiving would be their final family gathering.y
