“I Can Feel My Heart Breaking”: Former Menudo Member Adrián Olivares Passes Away at 48
We regret to inform you of the sudden death of Adrián Olivares, a beloved former member of the legendary Latin boy band Menudo. Fans, friends, and family are in grief for a life full of love, laughter, and music following Adrián’s death on Monday. He was only forty-eight.
Through moving social media posts and a GoFundMe page set up to help his loved ones, Adrián’s family and former bandmates acknowledged his loss. According to the GoFundMe website, Adrián had ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, which were exacerbated by his recent diagnosis. His untimely demise was the result of these health issues.

In order to aid with funeral costs and other necessities for Adrián’s mother and girls, his family and close friends started a campaign. The page said, “The family does not have the means to give Adrián his final farewell, so if you would please consider donating anything you can, it would be greatly appreciated.” His mother, Natasha, will receive all of the funds. Adrián, you are loved!
Twenty years after Menudo’s founding, Adrián Olivares became its twenty-third member in 1990. During his employment, the band went through a dynamic phase that included the publication of several outstanding albums, such as 15 Años, Detrás de Tu Mirada, and Dancin’, Movin’, Shakin’.
Even though Adrián was only 16 when he departed the band in 1993, his influence lasted. His charisma, vigor, and distinctive contributions during a crucial period for the group are remembered by fans.
Beyond his stint with Menudo, Adrián continued to pursue his artistic interests. He was a creative force and entrepreneur who established the Miami, Florida-based multimedia firm Wynwood Podcasting. He further shown his commitment to the arts by owning and running Antenna Sound Inc. before that.

Adrián’s abilities extended beyond music and business; he also made an appearance in the Max miniseries Forever Young, where his genuineness and charm won over viewers.
Eliana, age 18, and the twins, Lia and Lilly, ages 8, are the three daughters Adrián leaves behind. His family’s tributes show how devoted he is to his kids and their well-being.
Eliana conveyed the depth of her sorrow in a heartfelt Instagram post. “I don’t know how to put my sentiments into words. Dad, you will always be loved. You gave me strength, love, direction, and so much more that I wouldn’t have known without you,” she wrote. “I wish I could give you a hug or tell you how much we love you because I miss you so terribly. I will always be grateful for our time together, and you are now my guardian angel.
In remembrance of Adrián, his friends, former bandmates, and even his ex-girlfriend Sylvia Campos went to social media. He was a “great man, singer, son, brother, friend, but most of all a GREAT DAD,” according to Sylvia. “I will always love you, Adriancito,” she continued. I hope you have a wonderful future.

Adrián’s old bandmate from Menudo, Robert Avellanet, expressed his sorrow on Instagram. He wrote, “I am still shocked!” and sent a picture of a young Adrián. “He must provide strength to his family.” I pray your soul has an easy transfer. I will never forget your sense of humor. Brother, we’ll meet up there. Rest in peace, Adrián.
A touching remark was also written by Sergio Blass, a former bandmate: “Fly high, little brother, and find strength for your family.” You had an unrivaled charisma and always seemed older than your years. We shall never forget you in our hearts.
Adrián’s passing is the most recent in a string of unfortunate events involving former Menudo members. Another former member, Ray Reyes, died of a heart attack in 2021 at the age of 51. On Facebook, Ray’s brother posted an announcement of his passing, requesting privacy as the family grieved.
A previous bandmate, Anthony Galindo, also died that year at the age of 41. According to reports, the difficulties the COVID-19 pandemic presented to the music industry made Anthony’s melancholy worse.

Adrián Olivares’s contributions to Menudo, his spirit of entrepreneurship, and most importantly, his undying love for his family will all live on in his memory. Many people’s lives were impacted by his generous heart and lively spirit.
While admirers consider the happiness Adrián brought to Menudo and beyond, the Latin music community laments the passing of a brilliant artist. His family and friends find comfort in the fact that he made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, even as tributes flood in from all over the world.
The loss of Adrián serves as a moving reminder of how fleeting life is and how important it is to savor each moment. May his family find strength in the love and memories he leaves behind, and may his soul rest in peace.
