My Mom’s Desperate Call from Her Honeymoon Revealed a Chilling Truth About Her New Husband
My Mom Called Me from Her Honeymoon Begging Me to Save Her from Her New Husband
I believed my mother was in grave danger when she called me from her honeymoon, pleading with me to protect her from her new husband. There was nothing that could have prepared me for what she told me or the fact that I had to intervene to correct it.

Diane, my mother, and I have always been close.
She has taught me everything I know about love and resiliency, and she has been my best friend and rock. However, things changed once my dad died ten years ago.
She grew silent and reclusive, a shadow of the vivacious lady she once was. She hardly ever texted or called these days, and if I tried to reach her, she always claimed to be okay.
I could tell, though, that she wasn’t.
I eventually lost my patience.
“Why don’t you come stay with me for a while, Mom?” I phoned her. It will be enjoyable. We can overindulge in ice cream and binge-watch your favorite cookery series.
She initially objected, but after some persuasion, she gave in.
I made it my goal to revive her when she moved into my guest room a week later.
I began pushing her to go out, meet new people, and go to events in the area.
I told her, “You’re still young, Mom.” “You deserve to socialize and enjoy yourself. Your father would want you to have that.
That wasn’t the simplest thing to do, to be honest.

Every time I recommended joining a gardening group or a book club, she would roll her eyes and moan. Eventually, though, she began to answer yes.
I watched as the spark gradually returned to her eyes. She began to talk about her new companions, laugh more, and even resume some of her previous pastimes.
Seeing this side of her again was such a relief.
Then Mom told me about Greg around a year ago. One day she invited him to lunch.
She reassured me, “He’s just a friend,” but I could tell by the way her cheeks flushed.
Greg was a tall, silver-haired man with kind manners and gentle eyes. He gave off the impression of being a friendly man who would hold doors open and often say “please” and “thank you.”
I couldn’t resist making fun of her after he left.
“So, Mom, does Greg have a deeper story or is he just a friend?”

She flushed more deeply.
“Well, uh… “He’s my boyfriend,” she acknowledged.
“OMG, what?” I gave her a wide-eyed stare. “Mom! You never mentioned him to me.
“I didn’t know how to…” she mentioned. “I mean—”
“I’m so happy for you, Mom!” I interrupted her and drew her into an embrace. “That’s so, so amazing!”
She said, “But, uh,” first. “Is it acceptable in your opinion? I mean, is it okay to date someone else after your father?
I placed my hands on her shoulders and said, “Mom, it’s okay, of course.” “You are deserving of happiness. Consider Dad. He always wanted you to be happy, don’t you think? He would encourage you to go ahead and take action. Your life cannot be put on wait indefinitely, can it?
She nodded, her eyes sparkling. “You’re correct. I only hope that I’m acting appropriately.
“You are,” I asserted. Greg appears to be a wonderful man. Additionally, you are permitted to try again for happiness.
She accepted her connection with Greg wholeheartedly from that point on. After some time of dating, she accepted his proposal.
Their wedding was a tiny but lovely event that was full of laughter and love. Perhaps this is my mom’s happily ever after, I thought as I watched her go down the aisle.
And everything appeared to be ideal for a time. After that, though, I got the call that made me shudder.
Thus, Mom and Greg went to the Florida Keys for their honeymoon after being married. Mom deserved every moment of the trip, which was her ideal vacation.
I was ecstatic for her.

The day after they came, I noticed her name on the screen when my phone called. I assumed, of course, that she was calling to tell me how wonderful things was.
“Mom!” I replied with a smile. “How is paradise doing?”
But I could tell something wasn’t right by the trembling voice on the other end.
She muttered, “Kayla.” “Please. Save me from him, please. I implore you.
“Mom, what’s going on?” I sat up straight and asked. “Are you okay?”
“It’s Greg,” she declared. “He’s not who I thought he was.”
The worst-case possibilities were racing through my head.
“What are you saying? Was there something he did? Is he a threat? Already, I was reaching for my vehicle keys, prepared to drive to Florida if necessary.
She inhaled deeply.
“If I told you,” she added sourly, “you wouldn’t believe me.” On our honeymoon, however, he brought his children as well as their children. He also anticipates that I will watch them.
“What?”
She said, “He told me he had a surprise for me yesterday.” “I assumed it would be a romantic event, such as a couples massage or a supper at sunset. Rather, his grown children arrived with their young children.
It was unbelievable to me that Greg was capable of such a ridiculous act.
“Kayla, there are four of them. “Four,” Mom exclaimed. “And now I’m forced to watch the kids while Greg is with his kids all the time.”
“You mean to tell me that he attended your honeymoon with his whole family? Without requesting you?

“Yes!” she exclaimed. He is now claiming that it is my responsibility to assist since I am “the new mom.” Assist! I’m on my honeymoon! What is he doing, in his opinion?
Her voice was filled with resentment and tiredness, which I could detect.
On what should have been the happiest trip of her life, my mom—the woman who had sacrificed everything to raise me after my dad died—was being treated like a nanny.
Anger shot through my body in waves.
“That’s crazy!” I lost my temper. “Who does he believe himself to be? Mom, don’t worry. We’re going to stop this bullshit, and I’m coming.
“You don’t have to—” said Kayla.
“No, Mom,” I cut in, my tone abrasive. “I won’t allow him to handle you in this manner. Assemble your belongings. I’ll arrive in the morning.
I got to the resort early the following morning. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there to unwind even though I was in such a lovely location. I was there to engage in combat. to inform Greg that my mother could not be mistreated.
I chose to capitalize on the ridiculousness of the circumstance in order to make my point very evident.
I picked up some props from a store before going to the resort. A bib, a pacifier, and a bright pink children’s sun hat.
I would demonstrate to Greg how absurd it would be to have my mother work as a nanny.
I saw Greg right away as I entered the resort’s outside lounge.

Unaware of what was coming his way, he and his adult children were relaxing by the pool.
I assumed Mom was trapped babysitting because she was nowhere to be seen.
I put the pacifier in my mouth, fixed my pink cap, and rushed toward him.
“Daddy!” Loud enough for everyone to hear, I yelled. “Where is Mommy? “Give me my juice box!”
Greg had a priceless expression on his face.
When he spotted me, his laughter stopped.
“Kayla,” he said. “Why are you in this place?”
I took the dummy from my mouth and said, “Saving my mom.” “And while I’m at it, calling you out on your nonsense.”
I turned to face his grown children, who were now looking at me with wide eyes, before he could reply.
“Hello, everybody!” I forced a phony smile as I said. Apparently, I’m Greg’s other child, Kayla. When he converted my mom into a babysitter and invited the rest of you to her honeymoon, he neglected to include that person.
“We… we didn’t mean—” stumbled one of his daughters.

“Oh,” I interrupted, “save it.” I’m going to assume that he informed you that my mom would be pleased to keep your children so you could have a pleasant trip. Is it her honeymoon, did he mention that? You know, the vacation when she was meant to unwind rather than change diapers?
That’s when my mom showed up, looking like she hadn’t slept in days, with a screaming toddler on her hip.
I approached her and carefully removed the toddler from her embrace.
I handed the infant back to one of Greg’s children and said, “Here you go.” This one is probably yours. Instead of throwing your kids on a lady you hardly know, consider raising your own.
“Kayla!” Greg lost his temper. “That’s sufficient. You’re creating a commotion.
“Oh, am I?” I crossed my arms and shot back. “You brought your whole family along for what was meant to be a romantic vacation with your new bride. Additionally, you have been treating her more like a nanny than a romantic companion. What sort of man would do that?
“This is a family vacation!” Greg quarreled. She is now a member of the family. Families are there to assist.
“No,” I firmly answered. She is not your maid; she is your wife. She didn’t sign up to be a babysitter on her honeymoon. And to be honest, I can tell everything I need to know about you from the fact that you felt this was OK.
One of Greg’s daughters began to apologize at that point.
She muttered, “We didn’t mean to cause trouble.” “Dad said she would accept it.”

“He did, of course,” I retorted. “Because he avoided asking her.”
As the incident played out, the people surrounding the pool were completely silent. Greg appeared to want to vanish, but I wasn’t finished yet.
“Mom, pack your bags,” I urged. “We’re heading out.”
She looked at Greg and paused. “However—”
“No,” I interrupted her. “You owe him nothing at all. You deserve better than the disdain he showed you.
She nodded despite the tears in her eyes. Greg muttered excuses as I took her hand and escorted her out of the pool area.
Mom was silent the longest on the way home. Before she eventually spoke, she continued to stare out the window.
“I’m grateful, Kayla,” she murmured quietly. “Without you, I don’t know what I would have done.”
I reached over and squeezed her hand, saying, “Mom, you don’t have to thank me.” “You’ve supported me always. I’m merely giving back the favor.
She smiled at me a little, tearfully. “I believed he loved me.”
I remarked, “A loving person wouldn’t treat you that way.” “You deserve someone who prioritizes you.”
“You’re correct,” she said, nodding. “I’ve had enough of Greg.”
She blocked his number and began researching annulments as soon as we got home.

Greg’s life, meanwhile, was completely upended by karma. After learning what he done, his children stopped talking to him since they weren’t happy about being included in his honeymoon plan.
He was spending his days by himself, wondering where it all went wrong, when I last heard from him.

The sense of relief I get from preventing Mom from being taken advantage of for her generosity is beyond words. I’m glad she called me that day rather than keeping up with that man’s crazy reasoning and quietly caring for his grandchildren.
