Man Ridicules His Unemployed Wife Daily—Until a Heartbreaking Note Changes Everything
A conceited man often makes fun of his wife for being a bad housewife, but after learning his lesson the hard way through karma, he subsequently retracts his comments.
Shannon Miles believed she could quickly balance work and home life when she welcomed her first daughter, Claire. She wasn’t totally incorrect, though. She was able to do it flawlessly. Her situation worsened, though, once she gave birth to twins, Lucas and Justin.

It was tough to raise three kids while working, and she made bad blunders at home because she couldn’t concentrate well. She occasionally left the iron on or ended up burning the garments while ironing them, and occasionally the meal was burned.
Martin became irritated with his wife because he was fed up with her inability to handle both the house and the job. He told Shannon to resign from her work and devote herself full-time to raising their children. The woman paused and claimed she would handle both sides, but she was unable to do so, so she was forced to resign from her position.
But once her twins were born, her life saw other changes as well. After she became a stay-at-home parent, Shannon discovered that Martin was frequently annoyed with her. For everything she did, he reprimanded her.
Shannon was to blame if the dishes were unclean. Shannon was at fault if their children’s toys were left on the floor of the living room. Shannon was at fault once more if the food contained excessive amounts of salt.

According to Martin, Shannon was meant to be error-free, and every time something went wrong, it was his fault. Martin would therefore snap at his wife anytime things went wrong, calling her lazy and that she was incapable of doing anything well!
Martin would frequently make fun of her by saying, “I can’t believe you’re the same woman I fought with my mom to marry, Shannon,” recalling their earlier relationship in which he had begun dating her against his mother’s wishes.
Shannon clearly felt horrible when she heard Martin utter such things, but she chose to keep quiet since she didn’t want her family to disintegrate while focusing on her kids. That was incomprehensible to Martin, and one day the man simply went too far.
“SHANNON! Are you unable to hear me? Come on in now!” Martin let out a yell.

That day, Lucas and Justin had a party at home to celebrate their first birthdays. Shannon was in the twins’ room that night, trying to lull them to sleep with a lullaby, but Martin made it impossible because the babies started sobbing when they heard him.
Shannon put the babies in their cradles and hurried to the living room. “What the devil is wrong with you, Martin? Are you unable to be silent? I’m having trouble getting Lucas and Justin to sleep, and Claire just fell asleep.”
“Having a hard time?” Martin gave a mocking laugh. “I suppose you’ve forgotten that’s what you’re meant to do, baby. It’s not like you work for us, after all.
“You mean it, Martin? Don’t pretend that you help us a lot! Everything around the house, including the laundry, clothes, and dishes, is done by me.
“Observe, Shannon! I’m not here to listen to your supposed feminist discourse. Make sure you finish the dishes after you’ve put the kids to bed. I’m so tired that I’m going to bed. A smelly kitchen is the last thing I want to see when I get up. Martin pointed angrily to their kitchen sink, which was overflowing with dishes.
“Martin, you can’t be serious! You can’t possibly expect me to handle everything by myself. I’m currently occupied with the babies after having to prepare meals for everyone. At the very least, could you assist me?

“What should I do? “Help?” Martin chuckled. Shannon, it’s your job. At least one time, do it correctly. Alright?” Before leaving for their bedroom, he added.
“Look, Martin….” Shannon felt a little lightheaded just as she began to speak. “Martin, I haven’t had time to eat anything since morning,” she added, holding on to the edges of a table. “Ca-Can you.” Shannon felt her head heaving and fell to the floor before she could say another word.
The vase on the table dropped and shattered as Shannon fell, creating a loud noise that alerted Martin. He scowled when he turned around and noticed Shannon had passed out. “Shannon, wake up! Do you hear me? You see, it’s not hilarious if you’re simply acting.”
The man became concerned when Shannon didn’t answer. He hurried to the kitchen to grab a drink of water after dialing 911. Shannon didn’t wake up even after he splashed her face with water!
Martin asked Mrs. Cameron, his neighbor next door, to watch the children while he waited for the ambulance.
Martin thought the wait would go on forever, yet it ended in ten minutes. Holding Shannon in his arms, Martin hurried out to the ambulance as the paramedics arrived. He was told by the physicians that Shannon had passed out from weariness and would be monitored for some time.
Martin trod on fragments from a broken vase while getting a drink of water in the kitchen after returning home from the hospital late at night. When he noticed a letter on the floor, he knelt down and started to gather them up. He took it up and began to read it. Shannon had a to-do list.
5:00 a.m.: Wake up!

5.30 a.m.: Get ready for school and take a shower.

10:00—If you’re still alive, read a book!
Shannon, you’re capable!
When Martin read the list, his eyes were astounded. Shannon didn’t have any free time during the day. She was constantly distracted by something. It makes sense why she was worn out! Then I was shouting at her all the time! Martin regretted his outburst at her.
He tried to perform the housework the following day after applying for a leave of absence, but he was unable to complete even half of Shannon’s list. First of all, he discovered that he had already neglected almost half of the things on his to-do list when he woke up at 10 a.m. With a saltless soup for dinner and burnt toast for breakfast, the remainder of the day likewise didn’t go as planned.
That’s when Martin understood he shouldn’t have been so hard on his wife. For them, she was going above and beyond! He therefore bought Shannon’s favorite flowers from a flower shop when he visited her in the hospital the following time.
At the hospital, he apologized to Shannon and gave them to her. “I apologize, sweetie. According to the medics, you fainted due to weariness. I shouldn’t have treated you that badly.”
The unexpected gesture from her spouse surprised Shannon. “Martin, are you alright? I mean.
Before Shannon could say another word, Martin stepped up and gave her a hug. “I certainly am. Would you kindly let us stay this way for a bit?”
“Martin, are you sure you’re okay?”
“Yes, darling. I adore you and I’m sorry.”
Although she was a little surprised by her husband’s sudden care for her, Shannon reassured herself, “I love you too, honey,” and was grateful that he was there for her.
Since then, Martin had changed into someone quite different. He employed a nanny to help Shannon around the house, and he assisted his wife with housekeeping on the weekends when their nanny wasn’t around. It took Martin a while to learn that being a homemaker is a difficult profession.
What does this narrative teach us?
Until you put yourself in someone else’s shoes, you cannot comprehend their circumstances. Martin spent a day trying to complete Shannon’s list, but he was a complete failure.
Honor each person’s occupation. It requires a lot of effort and hard work to complete any assignment, regardless of the employment. After spending a day in Shannon’s shoes, Martin discovered this the hard way.
