Bride Asks Homeless Man to Leave Her Wedding—Then He Starts Singing Her Late Father’s Favorite Song
Bride Kicks Out Homeless Man from Wedding until He Sings a Song Her Late Dad Sang for Her — Story of the Day
Jessica had been fantasizing about her wedding day for years, thinking it’d be the happiest day of her life. When that day finally came, she came across a homeless man whom she thought was there to ruin her plans, only to hear him sing the tune her late dad loved to sing.

For Jessica, her wedding day was something she had looked forward to all her life. Having grown up in an orphanage, she clung on to a fairytale daydream about how her life would play out.
She fantasized that a prince would fall in love with her and take her home to a magnificent home where they have a family one day. As she had her eyes on that exact goal, it eventually happened for her.
Don was a perfect fit for Jessica. He was a young businessman in the district when they first met, and Jessica was a senior in college. They fell in love, and when he asked for her hand in marriage, she felt she’d be able to live out her fairytale fantasy.
Everything was planned for their wedding. They reserved the most beautiful location in town, which was decked out with fresh flowers. To organize what they hoped would be the “wedding of the century,” the couple engaged the top coordinators, event planners, and caterers.

Nothing could darken the wedding day until just before the reception began, Jessica was contacted by a security guard. “Ma’am, there is an elderly man who would like to see you, but he is not dressed according to your dress code, and he doesn’t seem ready to attend the reception,” the security officer stated to her.
As Jessica approached the entryway, she noticed an elderly man who appeared to be depressed. “I don’t know this man,” she informed the security guard right away. “Please, take him away before my guests smell that stench.”
Do you not recognize me at all, Jessica? “I am your dad,” the elderly guy murmured feebly. Jessica was surprised and starting to get more agitated.
“Dad? You have no right to treat my father with such disrespect. He passed away a long time ago. In an effort to ensure that none of the visitors could hear the disturbance, she spoke quietly.

The security guards were already dragging the elderly man to the side as he attempted to clarify his position. Jessica went to the buffet to fetch some food for him because she believed he would want some. She reasoned that perhaps this might persuade him to leave.
The security personnel informed her that the man had left and that they had resolved the matter while she was at the buffet. With a sigh of relief, Jessica returned to the gathering.
The homeless man, however, sneaked into the wedding and even claimed the stage when everyone else was occupied with eating. Before Jessica could say anything, the man got a microphone and started singing a sad song that left everyone in tears.
Jessica also broke down when she heard it because she hadn’t heard the song in twenty years, when she was seven years old, just before her father’s alleged death. At the time, her aunt had told her that her father had grown ill. She had to be taken to the orphanage since her aunt could not raise another child. “Could it be him?” she whispered.
The man praised Jessica after he finished singing and stated he didn’t want to bother her any more. As he gave her a necklace, he said:
“Your mother owned this necklace. She sacrificed her life for you because she loved you so much, even though you never met her. I wish you luck and guidance as you begin your married life with this necklace.
Before he left, he gave her daughter his address in case she ever wanted to speak with him. Jessica watched him leave the room after taking the necklace.

She discovered a small box she had saved from her time at the orphanage a few days later while she and Don were moving boxes into their new house. She discovered the necklace the man had given her there, along with the only picture she had ever had of her mother.
She informed Don, “He wasn’t lying,” while they examined the picture. “That man was my father.”
The man said he would be there, so Jessica went there. When she arrived, he gave her a smile and thanked her for coming. They went to a restaurant together and talked about their past experiences.
The man said, “My name is John,” “Your mom passed away not long after you were born. I was offered a well-paying position in Alaska, but I still wanted to raise you. I asked your aunt to drop you up at an orphanage since it was too risky to transport you there,” he said.
“I’m sorry, Jessica. I was greedy, chose money over my own family, and got my karma. I lost my business and went back home but lived on the streets. I know I can’t take back all those years, but I wanted to apologize to you and tell you how big I made a mistake,” the man told her.
Jessica was in tears. She felt outraged that her aunt opted to lie to her about her father’s death instead of telling her the truth. However, she resolved not to dwell on the past.
While she didn’t love her time at the orphanage, she recognized she wouldn’t be the strong, independent woman she is now if it wasn’t for her experiences. With no doubt, she forgiven her father in an instant.

“I believed I couldn’t be happy than when I got married, but I was mistaken. I’m doubly thrilled now that I found you, dad. I have always dreamed for a family, and now, I don’t only have a spouse, but I have my dad by my side, too,” she said.
Jessica vowed to take care of her father now that she could do so. Don joyfully put up a tiny cottage outside their property for John to have his own area. They would eat their meals together every day, and the happy elderly father cared for his grandkids once they came.
What can we learn from this story?
Family is priceless. John only recognized that he made a mistake putting money above family when he was older. He was fortunate to be able to start anew and reconcile with the daughter he had previously abandoned.
Making the decision to forgive can result in wonderful new beginnings. Jessica made the decision to forgive her father, who had once abandoned her, rather than harbor resentment. As a result, they were able to start afresh and experience what they had always desired—being a part of a happy family.
Tell your loved ones about this tale. It could brighten their day and motivate them.
