NASA Astronaut Reveals Surprising Struggles After 230 Days in Space

Stranded NASA astronaut says she’s lost ability to do these basic human functions after spending over 230 days in space

After being stuck on the International Space Station for an extended period of time, one of the astronauts from NASA has provided some surprising insights into the physical side effects.

Sunita “Suni” Williams and Barry “Butch” Wilmore have already been lost in space for more than 230 days, adding another terrible chapter to the narrative of the NASA astronauts who have become stranded. In June of 2024, the two individuals were a part of the first crewed flight of the Boeing Starliner.

However, because to technical faults with their vessel, it was flown back unmanned, and they were left stranded on the International Space Station.

Williams and Wilmore never imagined that they would be in space for such a long period of time, despite the fact that they have been in good company with other crew members aboard the International Space Station.

After spending 243 days in space, Williams has admitted that she has been experiencing some negative consequences as a result of her time there. In addition, Donald Trump and Elon Musk have been formulating a strategy to rescue the astronauts who have become stuck in space; however, it is not as easy as sending an Uber to come and retrieve them.

It has been reported that Williams has been making headlines due to concerns regarding her health and her’shocking’ weight loss.

Williams admits in an open and honest interview that she has lost the ability to carry out fundamental bodily functions at this point.

An astronaut was addressing pupils at Needham High School in Massachusetts when he made the following statement: “I’ve been up here for a sufficient amount of time, and right now I’ve been trying to remember what it’s like to walk.” I have not gone for a walk. I am not currently seated. I have not yet taken a seat.”

Williams and Wilmore are expected to experience a deterioration in their circumstances as time passes. Microgravity is also responsible for the degradation of muscles, and it is estimated that astronauts lose approximately one percent of their bone density for every month that they spend in space if they do not take safeguards.

However, NASA has pushed back the date by which the stranded astronauts were expected to return home on SpaceX’s Crew-9 spaceship to December 2024. The schedule was originally scheduled for February.

The extended stay in space that Williams and Wilmore are going to have is not going to be able to break any records, of course. Due to the fact that he has spent a total of 878 days in space throughout the course of his career, Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko is no stranger to out in space.

Even while NASA makes sure that astronauts undergo routine medical checkups and monitors their health on a regular basis, neither Williams nor Wilmore anticipated that they would be stationed on the International Space Station for such a lengthy period of time.

Because they have been there for such a long time, they were even forced to spend an unplanned Thanksgiving amidst the stars.

There is no need to hasten things, despite the fact that Musk and Trump have expressed their desire to send the astronauts back. “I have just asked Elon Musk and Space X to ‘go get’ the two courageous astronauts who have been virtually abandoned in space by the Biden Administration,” the President stated in a post that he made on Truth Social.

They have been waiting on the Space Station for a considerable amount of time. Elon is going to arrive in a short while. I am hoping that everyone will be safe. Success to you, Elon!!!”

NASA has indicated that work is now being conducted, with a post explaining: “After careful consideration, the team determined that launching Crew-10 in late March, following completion of the new Dragon spacecraft, was the best option for meeting NASA’s requirements and achieving space station objectives for 2025.”
