Serena Williams’ Husband Speaks Out Amid Backlash Over Viral Moment
Serena Williams’ husband breaks silence to defend wife after backlash over Crip walk to ex Drake’s diss track
The Super Bowl was the place where Serena Williams was showing off her skills.

She appeared alongside Kendrick Lamar and danced along to his music during her cameo appearance at the Super Bowl halftime performance. Serena Williams made a cameo appearance at the Super Bowl.
Henry “Crip” Heard, a Harlem dancer who was involved in an automobile accident and lost both an arm and a leg, is credited with popularizing the “Crip walk,” which the tennis great performed when he emerged from the court.
The Crips, a group of street gangs in California, were the ones who adopted the dance. Williams had previously performed the dance at Wimbledon in 2012, after she won the Olympic gold medal, which drew a great amount of criticism at the time.

The fact that she performed it once more during the Super Bowl did, unfortunately, result in a few negative remarks being made about her. Some individuals were dissatisfied with the fact that she was dancing along to the song “Not Like Us,” which is about Drake.
It is rumored that Drake and Serena Williams dated between the years 2011 and 2015. Drake has made multiple references to Serena Williams in his songs, and he has stated that his song “Too Good” was about “me and Serena.”
After she had finished her dancing performance at the Super Bowl, she made the following statement: “Man, I did not crip walk like that at Wimbledon; I would have been fined.”
By releasing screenshots of some of the things that people had said about Serena in the past, her husband Alexis Ohanian was completely prepared to defend her against any criticism that would be directed toward her at this time.

In his letter, he stated, “Some of you have no idea how much criticism Serena received for performing the same dance at Wimbledon thirteen years ago, and it shows… Even more important than the music is this.
Ohanian took screenshots from a sports commentator who stated that Williams “deserved to be criticized” in 2012. The commentator also attempted to assert that Williams’ dance at Wimbledon was “akin to cracking a tasteless, X-rated joke inside of a church.” Ohanian published these screenshots with the public.
A video showing Samuel L. Jackson dressed as Uncle Sam during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime concert was also uploaded by him. In the video, Jackson can be seen yelling, “Oh no, no!” What a roar! It’s way too safe! Way too… ghetto.
Then, Ohanian uploaded yet another video clip from the halftime show, this time with the message “meanwhile, let ’em dance.”
As far as it appears, he is not in the mood to listen to the bullshit that people are saying about his wife’s performance at the Super Bowl and her dancing on stage.

“Kendrick getting Serena Williams to crip walk while performing ‘Not Like Us’ is nasty work,” is one of the comments that viewers have made. However, other viewers have stated that it was “a wild flex by Kendrick” to get the tennis star to dance on stage as he was singing about Drake.
During the course of his performance, Kendrick Lamar omitted the most contentious lyric he had written about Drake and asked the audience at the Super Bowl to sing it for him.
There have been charges made against Drake, but he has rejected them.
