Over 150,000 Canadians Sign Petition Calling for Elon Musk’s Citizenship to Be Revoked
Over 150,000 Canadians sign bombshell petition to revoke Elon Musk’s citizenship
‘Against the national interest of Canada’ is the accusation that has been levelled against the millionaire.
More than one hundred fifty thousand Canadians have put their names on a petition to have Elon Musk’s citizenship revoked.
Musk is accused of being “engaged in activities that go against the national interest of Canada,” according to the petition that was submitted to the parliamentary committee on February 20.

The evidence suggests that the internet mogul is closely aligning himself with Donald Trump, who has made a number of contentious statements regarding the conquest of Canada and the incorporation of Canada into the United States as the 51st state.
The petition was put forth by Qualia Reed, a novelist from British Columbia, in the House of Commons of Canada, where it was sponsored by Charlie Angus, a member of parliament for the New Democrats and a critic of Musk.
The Chief Executive Officer of Tesla was born in South Africa; nevertheless, he holds Canadian citizenship through his mother, who is originally from Regina, Province of Saskatchewan.

The owner of X, which was once known as Twitter, has been collaborating closely with the administration of President Trump in an effort to reduce the amount of money spent by the federal government in the United States.
In addition to openly boasting about having the United States takeover Canada, Trump has made several threats to levy heavy tariffs on commodities that are imported from Canada.
As a result of his association with Trump, the petition asserts that the founder of SpaceX is “a member of a foreign government that is attempting to erase Canadian sovereignty.”
It requests that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whom Trump has frequently referred to as “governor,” remove Musk’s Canadian passport and cancel his citizenship with immediate effect. Trump has frequently made fun of Trudeau as “governor.”
According to the Canadian Press, petitions such as this one require more than five hundred signatures once they have been properly validated and presented to the House of Commons in order to receive a formal response from the government.
As of late Sunday (the 23rd of February), this has not been a problem. Reed’s petition has received approximately 157,000 signatures, and it is still growing.

In the event that a general election is not called before the 24th of March, the House of Commons of Canada is scheduled to resume its routine operations.
There will be no end to the signing session for the petition until the 20th of June.
The richest man in the world has been instrumental in the harsh cost-cutting measures that President Trump has implemented.
He has been in charge of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is a program that has led to significant layoffs across the government agencies in the United States.
Because of this, hundreds of thousands of civil servants working for the United States government have been impacted.
These individuals include those who are employed by the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Defence, Health and Human Services, the Internal Revenue Service, and the National Park Service, among any number of other departments.

Recent findings from a poll conducted by Economist and YouGov, which included over 1,600 respondents, indicate that Musk and his so-called DOGE endeavour are not nearly as popular with the general public as they claim to be serving. The study also indicated that many Americans are opposed to the steep cuts.
It would appear that Musk is undeterred by the petition, as he continues to utilise his X platform to promote his political ideas.
This particular message was shared by Musk on Sunday, and it read, “Of course, we back Doge! Those individuals who do not support it are not American.
