Canadian body-positive influencer Alicia Mccarvell has amassed a sizable fan base of more than five million on the well-known video-sharing website TikTok. She met Scott Mccarvell when she was just 15 years old, and the two are now happily married.
On social media, she frequently shares videos of her married life, which receive millions of views and comments from online users. Alicia shared a TikTok video of herself cuddling with her hubby in June 2022. The caption said:

GETTING CRITICISM
After being seen in towels for 12 seconds, the couple looked fully clothed and prepared to attend a wedding together. To far, the viral video has garnered over 35.7 million views and over 60,000 comments.
According to Alicia, one user sent her husband a direct message telling him he need to date someone who looked like her.
Alicia, however, claimed that people harshly attacked her romantic moment with her husband, which went against her beliefs. Some people, she said, thought Scott was with her because she was wealthy, while others questioned whether he was secretly gay or had a “fat woman fetish.”

Alicia made the decision to reply to the naysayers in a second video as the criticism kept coming in. She stated:
“I shared a little transition video of my spouse and I getting dressed up after changing from towels. Couples from a wide variety of backgrounds use this app for similar purposes. I’m sure we all know why my video became viral. It’s because we don’t make sense by beauty standards.
She claimed that people immediately appreciated Scott more than she did when they saw her and him together. People complained that Alicia and her husband’s relationship equation didn’t add up, so they tried to add things to make it make more sense to them, according to Alicia.

The TikToker also discussed another important topic: the ideals of beauty that she felt many people had been striving to meet their entire lives. She also said:

Although the woman who contacted Scott was a “10 out of 10 by beauty standards,” she asserted that a person’s worth was not determined by how well their body matched society’s ideals of beauty.
According to the TikToker, the commenter was overvaluing herself based on her appearance, just as she had undervalued herself based on her body. According to Alicia, her spouse appreciated her sense of humor, love, devotion, and compassion. She added:
“If my physique changes, none of these things that [Scott] cherishes about me will change. ‘But what else?’ he asks when someone leads with their body first while sliding into his direct messages.
THE COMMENTS THAT SUPPORT
Over 20.5 million people have seen Alicia’s comeback video, in which she retaliated against the online haters. Her fans sent her encouraging and supportive notes in addition to the critical ones. Someone wrote:
“You are an amazing advocate. You give me encouragement every day.
“I think it makes perfect sense!” remarked a second user. He is fortunate to have you! “You are so adorable!” “Very well said and spoken,” a third person said.
