Mom Shares Journey of Welcoming Baby Using Late Son’s Sperm via Surrogate

Mom’s update after using dead son’s sperm to have baby via surrogate

After the passing of her son in 2023, the Spanish actress Ana Obregón made a decision that was both exceptional and controversial.

She chose to honor her son’s ultimate request by utilizing his sperm to conceive a child through a surrogate. This action caused her to become a prominent figure in the media.

With only 27 years of life under his belt, Aless Lequio, Ana’s son, tragically lost his battle with illness in the year 2022. Ana disclosed, in the aftermath of his passing, that he had shown a profound want to become a parent, which was a goal that she was resolute to accomplish.

One year later, Ana became a mother to a little girl in the United States through the process of surrogacy.

Later on, she stated that the child, who was given the name Anita, was not her daughter but rather her granddaughter, and that she had produced the child using Aless’ stored sperm.

In April of 2023, Ana expressed to ¡Hola! that the girl in question was not her daughter but rather her granddaughter.

The fact that she is Aless’ daughter means that I will inform her that her father was a hero when she is older. This will ensure that she is aware of who he is and how proud she ought to be of him.

Ana, who is now 70 years old, recently gave a speech on Spanish television in which she discussed the bittersweet delight she has found in rearing Anita, despite the fact that she is still grieving the loss of her only son.

She smiled and replied, “My house is full of stuffed animals and toys,” as reported by The London Evening Standard by the newspaper. “I even have a small ball pool that she constantly forces me to dive into,” she said.

“Picking her up is getting harder on my back,” Ana said, referring to the fact that an increasing number of the physical tasks have become more difficult as Anita has grown.

She expressed her candidness as she reflected on the shock of Aless’ diagnosis, saying, “We go through life thinking that we are eternal, that nothing will happen to us.” When you are 25 years old, you receive the news that you have an aggressive form of cancer from a certain person. That is not the kind of thing that you anticipate hearing when you are young.

As a result of the tragedy of losing Aless, Ana has admitted that she is experiencing a greater level of worry when it comes to raising Anita than she did when Aless was a child.

The decision that she made to have a child through the use of a surrogate garnered a significant amount of public attention, not only because of the extraordinary circumstances, but also because surrogacy is against the law in Spain.

In the United States of America, Anita was born, and Ana eventually adopted her and became her legal guardian.

During previous interviews, Ana has been candid about the profound sadness she experienced following the passing of her son.

She has stated that she felt as though she had been “dead for three years.” It wasn’t until Anita was born that she started to have a sense of vitality once more.

Anita’s second birthday was recently celebrated, and in a recent interview with ¡Hola!, Ana offered her thoughts, saying, “I know I’ll never feel the happiness I had when Aless was with me again.

” There is no way to get rid of the discomfort. The death of a child is something that cannot be accepted or overcome. You just have to learn to take everything in stride.

As she continued, she said, “Thank goodness, Anita now occupies my days.” Up to the birth of Anita, I had been dead for three years, beginning with Aless’s passing. The whole essence of life is a cool breeze.
