Michelle Obama Opens Up About a Special Agreement She Shares with Barack
Michelle Obama Reveals One Marriage ‘Deal’ She Has With Husband Barack
When it comes to the life behind the headlines, Michelle Obama has never been afraid to be honest.

She is now discussing the silent rule that has influenced her marriage to Barack Obama since the beginning and the reasons it is still relevant now.
Michelle Obama recently gave a close-up look at her relationship with former US President Barack Obama, revealing who is the true loser at home.
The former first lady revealed one of the first agreements she and her husband made in their marriage during an open discussion on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast on Tuesday.

The contract? Jokes about her spouse can be made by Michelle, but not the other way around.
“We have a deal, Barack and I, in our marriage, and it started very early,” she stated to Poehler. “It’s like, ‘I can tease you, but you cannot tease me.’
She remembered times when her spouse attempted to argue against the regulation. Michelle claims that she calls the former president out right away when he occasionally quips back.
He typically responds with, “I’m teasing you,” to which she responds, “None of that.” She described her response as a clear reminder that he is breaking the agreement.
However, Barack is outnumbered not only by the rule but also at home. “When me, Malia, and Sasha, all of us, are together, he doesn’t stand a chance,” Michelle stated.
“We pursue him ruthlessly. I let him know that teasing is our love language.
The Obamas’ love language may be humor, but the mother of two adopts a different strategy based on fortitude and distance when it comes to public scrutiny.
She’s learned to turn down the volume after years of being scrutinized. Her strategy for handling public scrutiny is straightforward: maintain your composure, remain grounded, and ignore the others.
The former first lady spoke at SXSW on the enduring stories that have followed her family during and after their tenure in the White House.
“People always ask me and Barack, how did we stay hopeful in, not just the eight years that we were in the White House, but beyond?” she responded.
The criticism was unrelenting. She remembered the circulating rumors and baseless accusations — inquiries concerning her husband’s place of birth, their sense of patriotism, and even his educational background.
“Let me tell you, there was a lot of negative energy flipping our way,” she stated.
The Obamas, however, found strength in perspective rather than allowing the noise to define them. “What kept us sane, and we tried to instill this in our daughters is, that you cannot live through social media,” she said.
Disengaging from internet discourse has been essential to keeping their peace of mind, Michelle made clear. “I don’t think I have ever once looked at a comment section, period,” she said.
She wants to shield her girls’ and her own wellbeing from a society where public opinion may easily go out of hand by leading by example.
Michelle is embarking on a new phase of her life, one that will be influenced by her own decisions rather than her responsibilities, despite the rumors and the attention.
She discussed her recent public absences and what life is like today, after leaving the White House and after becoming a full-time parent in an interview with Sophia Bush’s “Work in Progress” podcast.
Michelle didn’t hesitate when asked about her social life and way of living at the moment. “Anything I want, Sophia, man. “Anything I want,” she declared.

Although a little unnerving, she characterized this moment as freeing. Her time was dominated for years by her First Lady duties, her husband, and her children.
Michelle said that it was simple to use those positions as justifications for turning down chances, frequently citing the necessity for her daughters or her marriage to the president as justifications.
Now that she is free of such obligations, she is alone responsible for making decisions. Michelle said that she can no longer blame others for her decisions.
She thought about how, as a woman, she might have had the ability to make more intimate choices in her early years but chose not to.
Now that she’s over that phase, she’s learning to put herself first, a change that became very apparent this year.

“And so now I have to look at my — I get to look at my calendar, which I did this year,” she remarked, considering that pivotal moment.
“It was a real big example of me, myself looking at something that I was supposed to do — you know, without naming names — and I chose to do what was best for me, not what I had to do, not what I thought other people wanted me to do.”
As we previously reported, when Michelle appeared on Poehler’s podcast, the ladies discussed the former first lady’s reactions and Poehler’s “Parks and Recreation” character’s reaction to meeting Michelle for the first time.
Many internet users were laughing aloud at their exchange and responses to each other.
Poehler adopted a smart-casual style, wearing a deep brown blazer over a slate blue button-up shirt. Michelle, on the other hand, was dressed simply but stylishly in a loose-fitting light-grey zip-up sweater and belted high-waisted trousers.
Their playful dynamic, which developed even more vividly in a TikTok clip that has swiftly become a fan favorite, was made even more charming by the visual contrast between them.
Poehler recalled the day Michelle made an appearance as a guest star on “Parks and Recreation” in the clip, which combined contrived entertainment with real-life gravity.
Michelle, who acknowledges that she is not an actress and had trouble establishing herself, humbly remembers how intimidating the event felt.

She clarified, “I’m running lines and trying to figure out cues,” before Poehler interrupted with a joke, “God is fair.” You can’t do all of that and still be a good actress, really.”
It was evident from their combined laughing that this was a genuine time of bonding rather than just a typical remembrance.
Next was Poehler’s now-famous admission: Poehler, who played Michelle and Leslie Knope, unintentionally drooled as she tried to recite her line in the first take because she was so overcome by Michelle’s presence.
Social media was in a frenzy due to the humorous timing and Michelle’s thrilled reaction, which included her grabbing her chest and laughing hard.
“You can’t recall? I’m very happy that you don’t recall. I started drooling,” Poehler remarked. Was there anything I said about it? Did I see the saliva?
In response to Michelle’s teasing, Poehler praised the former first lady’s ability to continue as a “total pro.”

According to the comedian, “you just looked like, ‘Ok, maybe this is a choice,'” she remembered. But the teasing didn’t end there, because Michelle laughed and said, “What happened? “Why am I drooling?”
When Poehler accused her of having “very active salivary glands,” Michelle retorted, “That’s real acting!” with a humorous surprise.
Poehler said, “Not to brag, Michelle,” and then burst out laughing. The conversation was a smooth fusion of comedy, modesty, and genuineness; it gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at why these ladies are still adored by people of all ages.
The amusing encounter between Poehler and Michelle sparked a quick, lively, and extremely enthusiastic online response. The TikTok video’s comment box was inundated with responses from fans that were equal parts appreciative and amused.
One person joked, citing Poehler’s amusing contradiction, “‘I’m so glad you don’t remember’ reminds her in explicit detail 🤣😅.”
“Drool is the highest form of compliment,” Michelle’s IMO Podcast account said, echoing the current comedy gold. The statement received hundreds of likes.

In a positive review, one viewer said, “Leslie crashing out in front of politicians was always such a hilarious bit 😂.” Another person remarked, capitalizing on the ridiculousness of the situation: “Imagine Michelle Obama asking you why you drooled 😂😂.”
One of the other spectators made a joke about the situation’s reality, saying, “Seems like an appropriate response in the moment.
” Another person said with amusement, “Amy drooling not being in a blooper reel is criminal after talking about how she loved bloopers!!!!! we [sic] must see!!!”
When taken as a whole, the responses depicted sheer joy. Supporters praised the genuine discomfort and playful nature between the adored comedic actress and the former first lady, as well as the behind-the-scenes glimpse.
Following Michelle’s meeting with Tina Knowles for another conversation, they engaged in their much-discussed humorous banter.

On her book tour, she hosted Knowles at The Theater at MGM National Harbor, where she promoted her book, “Matriarch: A Memoir.”
