No One Paid Much Attention to the Farmer on the Highway — Until His Story Went Public

There was a peaceful rural lane where Farmer John lived.

However, as time went on, the volume of traffic gradually increased at a rate that was worrisome.

Because the traffic was so dense and moving so quickly, his chickens were getting run over at a pace that ranged from three to six times per day.

Farmer John called the sheriff’s office one day and said, “You’ve got to do something about all of these people driving so fast and killing all of my chickens.” The sheriff’s office responded by investigating the situation.

The sheriff said, “What is it that you would like me to do?”

It doesn’t matter to me; I just want you to take action against those insane drivers!

Therefore, the following day, the sheriff ordered the county employees to proceed with the installation of a sign that read: SLOW–SCHOOL CROSSING.

Over the course of three days, Farmer John made a phone call to the sheriff and informed him, “You have to take action regarding these drivers.” The sign that reads “school crossing” appears to cause them to go even more quickly.

Consequently, the sheriff dispatches the county employees, and they erected a new sign that reads as follows: PLAYING CHILDREN AT A SLOW MOVE

They moved much more quickly as a result of that. As a result, Farmer John called and called and called each and every day for a period of three weeks.

At long last, he came to the sheriff and asked, “Your signs are not doing any good.” Do you allow me to hang my own sign?

He was instructed by the sheriff, “Sure thing, put up your own sign that you made.” It was his intention to allow Farmer John to engage in virtually any activity in order to convince him to quit phoning each day to express his dissatisfaction.

There was no more communication from Farmer John to the sheriff.

After three weeks had passed, the sheriff’s curiosity finally got the better of him, and he settled on the idea of calling Farmer John. “I’m curious about the situation with those drivers. Have you hung up your sign or not?

That’s right, I did it. Since that time, not a single chicken has been killed by a chicken. Sadly, I must depart. I am quite busy.” The phone was hung up by him.

“I’d better go out there and take a look at that sign in order to satisfy my curiosity,” the sheriff thought to himself as he became increasingly inquisitive.

It is possible that it is something that we could utilize to restrict the speed of drivers…

Therefore, the sheriff drove out to Farmer John’s house, and the moment he saw the sign, his jaw dropped to the ground from shock.

A sheet of wood was covered in spray paint, and it read: DIST COLONY, NU.DIST
