Former 16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis shares heartbreaking news
Many know Whitney Purvis because she appeared on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant and now she is having to cope with the tragic loss of her 16-year-old son, Weston Owen Gosa Jr.
On the same day, Whitney broke the news on Facebook alongside pictures that showed her son’s emotions. It was a deeply sad post that showed how hurt Whitney was She began, “It’s really tough to write this.” My beautiful Weston has died.
He was a young 16 years old. It’s not fair the way life is sometimes. I am just confused by this. Sharella showed the feelings of a mother struggling to make sense of something unbearable. “Now my baby is not here and I don’t know how to handle things,” she wrote.
She said Weston was “so perfect,” and described how much she cannot believe this happened and how powerless she feels after his death. Whitney explained that this was her ‘worst nightmare’ come to life.
“It’s very hard to live life normally following the death of a child.” I can hardly believe that this is taking place. I wish it could be a dream. I wish I could do anything to be able to hold him one more time. It’s impossible for me to describe how much I am hurting.”
After a hopeful note, Whitney wrote: “I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa.” You are what keeps me alive and well. I was very proud to watch you grow into a young man.
I can’t keep living without you. Goodbye, my dear sweet angel. Your time with us was much too short. From April 2, 2009 to June 2, 2025.” She then published another image, one of herself hugging Weston and wrote, “Rest in Peace, my baby Weston.
” I am always connected to you, my Precious. Why is life always so unfair, I really can’t understand it. I will always call you my little one.”
Stepmother Mary Chappa provided information about what happened through her own posts on social media. She disclosed that Weston had diabetes and a few other health issues before they passed and she shared that an autopsy will decide the actual cause of death.
All we can say is we woke up at 7 a.m. and tried to pull him out of bed.” His chest was not moving. We performed CPR and asked for help by calling an ambulance. As a last attempt, the paramedics brought him to the hospital in Gordon County, but they declared him dead when he arrived.
