Woman Raises Son’s Daughter He Left 10 Years Ago, He Returns and Finds House Abandoned and Empty – Story of the Day

A man left his little daughter with his mother when he moved with his new wife, and when he comes home after years, he finds that both the daughter and his mother are missing without any sign of them.

Her husband left when her son Nicholas was only seven and so, Doris Dakkar had to raise him on her own. Doris did her best and held two jobs to ensure that her son didn’t lack for anything.

She was thirty years old back then. Becoming a single parent for the second time in life, at the age of 60, had never been anything she imagined. Neither did she expect her son to cut his daughter off. His father was hardly the person she imagined him to be.

Unfortunately, the lovely Sandra, Nicholas’ wife, passed away when their daughter, Paige, was still only nine. This is how Doris explained Nicky’s quick actions: He felt lonely and chose to start a new relationship and marriage right after Sandra passed away.

She was worried to notice how little Paige seemed less cheerful, but she excused this behavior because of her mother’s absence. For a while, she continued to think her son was a good person, but eventually that didn’t last.

Selfish people are not concerned with other people’s happiness.
As Paige turned ten in summer, Nicholas talked to Doris and wanted to take care of her for three weeks, since he and Donna were going on a vacation in Alaska alone.

Mom, Nicholas believes all couples should have time to be alone sometimes. Paige has changed recently and not for the better. She has personal issues with Donna that she doesn’t like to talk about.

Doris was startled yet she went along with it. “OK Nicky,” she told him. Having a break could be good for everyone. Still, I believe Donna understood the risks of Marilyn’s life when they met. She was aware that you were a parent to a daughter. It is important for a grown woman to be strong when dealing with a young girl who is just starting to make sense of her mother’s passing and her father’s instant remarriage.

Nicholas turned bright red and sucked in his breath just as she had seen many times before. I really should have expected that you would disagree with me. he cried. For Donna, the fact that Donna loves me and makes me happy matters most in life.

I assumed SOMEONE would support Paige, and I am surprised it’s not her father. Reaching happiness in your child should also make you happy!

Nicholas stormed out, but a week later, when he came back with Paige and her suitcase, everything seemed back to normal for him. Jacob kissed Paige as a sign of friendship and gave Doris a warm hug.

“Mom, I am leaving and will be back here on August 27,” he said and drove away waving cheerfully.

During the next decade, Doris and Paige wouldn’t have any more contact with him. Nothing happened on August 27th and Nicholas wasn’t there. She called her son, but to her surprise, he could not pick up since his number had been cut off.

Nicholas had been out of contact with his daughter on the phone but he was responding to her messages now and then. Now he had disappeared somehow. Doris found out that the home that was supposed to be Nicholas and Sandra’s new place had already been purchased by someone else. She found that she was alone.

He left his daughter in his mother’s care without saying a thing or caring about her welfare.

Doris spoke to Paige and assured her: “Listen, Paige, we will get through this together.” Please don’t feel worried about anything. I’ll make sure you are well taken care of. I love you Paige and I am sure that your father will feel remorse for his actions soon.

Unfortunately, what Doris predicted proved to be true. Years later, Nicholas went to his mother’s house in his car. The place was bright and peaceful from a distance, but it soon became clear that it was abandoned and declining after I got closer. Plants had taken over and blocked the windows.

Nicholas had to attend his mother’s neighbor’s movies himself because she couldn’t accompany him. When the husband came to get the daughter’s address, the woman was surprised and wasn’t willing to give it to him. She noticed that his clothes were worn and his car was very old.

Paige got married and Doris shares a home with her. Do not expect a warm welcome like that given to the Prodigal Son, she added with a tone of bitterness (she was her grandmother’s best friend). Considering your actions, any unpleasant result would be a logical outcome for you.

Nicholas did not answer back at all. He stopped, turned and walked away. He felt at ease because he was used to handling his mother.

When Parijat got to the address, he was really surprised. It seems that his daughter and his mother were staying in a huge and luxurious house.

He went to the door and rung the bell. He requested to talk to Doris or Paige Dakkar after the maid opened the door.

Would you say ‘Mrs, Dakkar of Mrs. Henderson’? She corrected him with an arrogant smile, and she ushered him into a fancy and spacious sitting area.

Paige walked in the office a few minutes after that. Nikolas could tell from her face that she had been notified the neighbor would be by for a visit.

“Paige, my dearest baby, … he commented and approached the woman to embrace her, since she turned out to be such a beautiful daughter.

“What is the reason, father,” she added without appearing upset, passing over to him the cloth robe.

He said, “I wanted to visit both of you, grandma Doris, my favorite.” I’ve really missed you a lot …

Doris appeared in the dorm at that point. Likewise, she gave off a calm vibe and seemed a lot younger for her age. She turned and said to Nicholas. What is it that you are looking for?

Nicholas flushed. He was asking to be with his family again. I was wishing for everyone to be really kind to me.

You left me all alone, father, she said with contempt. You look like you were hoping for a warm welcome?

“Mom?” whined Nicholas. That was not something I did. Donna…she insisted. She chose to leave after saying she’d rather move on.

“Oh!” “That’s right, Doris said with a nod and a smile. Even so, you’re all by yourself. Does that suggest that, with no money left, Donna stopped her activities too?

Nicholas felt jealous as he looked at the beautiful room. You seem to be a tall guy. he said in a bitterness voice. I would’ve hoped you could share, as I don’t have money and am struggling every day.

It really surprises me that you are asking us for help, father. Although you were not there when we needed you, we dealt with it somehow. Our lives are much better now due to the help of my husband.

Nicholas said with anger, “I’m not going to change what being your father means.”

“You mean nothing to me,” she said, and yet she still touched her grandmother’s hand. Tears and sadness were clearly visible in Doris’s eyes as she looked at Nicholas. Because grandma Doris cares about you, I will help you.

Paige went to a Louis XV desk and then opened the drawer using her key. She got a set of house keys and put a certain amount of money into an envelope. Using these keys will help you enter the old house.

There are five thousand dollars inside the envelope. Think that is your last paycheck, so there’s no point returning.

Paige and Grandma Doris were led out of the room by Paige as she put her arm around her. The maid quickly entered the room and ushered Nicholas out so that he couldn’t get his hands on the obvious valuables.

Nicholas remained in his car for quite some time, just looking at his daughter’s huge place. He just signed because that’s what needed to be done. How come other people don’t see how much I’ve gone through? Graciousness is not found in the world today.
