A Royal Sparkle: Princess Charlotte Honors Queen Elizabeth II with Heirloom Brooch at Trooping the Colour 2025
At only ten years old, princess Charlotte shocked royal enthusiasts and clothing aficionados alike in the 2025 Trooping the Colour procession with her beautiful attire,

with her light teal dress complemented by a bedazzled diamond horseshoe brooch full of royal significance. Her wardrobe did not only impress the audience but also brought her close to her family heritage.

This is not an ordinary piece of jewelry as the beautiful striking horseshoe shaped brooch seems to shine modestly in the summer light. It was a gift to the Princess by her deceased great-grandmother, the Queen Elizabeth II,

woman who was known to love horses. The brooch (seen last on Charlotte during the state funeral of Her Majesty the Queen in 2022) already earned her arguably reverential comparisons with the young Queen herself in terms of quiet dignity, which were made even before the state funeral.

People assume that the brooch was originally owned by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and thus is a very rare heirloom which has now been worn by four generations of royal woman.

It was observed how the brooch did not only mean richness of the Insignia, but a melancholy compliment, a murmur of the past enveloped in diamonds, and a prophecy that some day Charlotte can

continue the history of the kings and queens who have preceded her. The princess stood tall and brave next to her siblings, Prince George and Prince Louis and in some non-verbal cues, solidified her special position within a royal family.

Her mother, Catherine, Princess of Wales also sartorially tipped a cap in the direction of the past. She was wearing a fine blue coat dress by Catherine Walker and a carved hat by Juliette Botterill, the Irish Guards regimental brooch (her honorary military status), and a pair of Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings, a gift

presented to Queen Elizabeth II on her wedding day back in 1947. The mother-daughter pair managed to produce an impressive visual display that represented the essence of royal continuity and personal memory.

The 2025 Trooping the Colour was as usual as majestic with more than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians taking part in the carefully planned procession in central London.

It was an event that in most cases marked the official birthday of the king who was monarch of the country at the time and the fly past was by the RAF Red Arrows and the appearance on the balcony of the Royal Family at the Buckingham Palace.

His Majesty King Charles III is in treatment of cancer, and so he did not perform his normal duties at the event as he rode on a carriage as opposed to in the saddle of a horse. His arrival, low-key and less

audible than normal due to tonsillitis on the Inner Avocado, was a popular one on the crowds who lined The Mall and cheered him when he waved as he travelled in the open-top landau, alongside Queen Camilla.

Notably, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not attend the celebration, neither did Prince Andrew and his daughters. Their exclusion is supported by the attempts by the new king Charles to keep a downsized, practical monarchy that is centered on service and representation.

But above the ceremonies it was the spectacle of the little Princess Charlotte in her teal dress, standing so composed beside her relatives that the diamond horseshoe brooch caught the light upon her breast, which most simply touched the heart. A faint reminder that in the world ruled by the headlines of change, some traditions and symbols still have strong meaning.
