McDonald’s fans fuming as fast food chain quietly puts menu prices up
After discovering that the well-known fast food restaurant has recently increased some of its pricing, McDonald’s supporters have started venting their ire online.

Fries, Happy Meals, and the Wrap of the Day offer all cost more in July than they did in prior months, according to Reddit users.
However, upon careful inspection of the menu, it appears that other items have also experienced price increases.

There have been notable modifications to the Saver Menu, and the prices of chicken nuggets, Big Macs, and wraps have gone up a bit.

What changes have been made to McDonald’s prices?
By the end of 2024, a Double Cheeseburger cost £2.29, compared to just £1.99 in 2023. The price has increased to £2.49 on the McDonald’s app as of July 2025.

A Big Mac used to cost £4.69 in June, but now it costs £4.89 on the McDonald’s app and £5.59 when ordered through Deliveroo.

In June 2025, ordering a nine-piece box of Chicken McNuggets from McDonald’s cost £5.09; however, in July, the price increased to £5.19 on the McDonald’s app and £6.19 on Deliveroo.

The majority of products on the Saver Menu have increased in price by 10p. For example, the classic hamburger now costs £1.29 instead of £1.19, the small fries went from £1.19 to £1.29, and the mayo chicken went from £1.39 to £1.49.

The price of a small Americano or white coffee has increased from £1.39 to £1.49, and small soft drinks are now £1.29 instead of £1.19.

Like Smarties and Oreos, the Mini Core McFlurry has also increased. The McDonald’s app indicates that the Mini Core McFlurry is now £1.49 each, whereas it was previously £1.29 each.

The price of the Katsu Wrap, which debuted at McDonald’s UK in December 2024, has also changed substantially.

It used to cost £3.49 for a single item and £5.29 for a meal at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, but today it costs £3.79 for an item alone and £5.39 for a meal.
Indeed, the Wrap of the Day offer has also increased in price, going from £1.99 to £2.29 earlier this year.
How do consumers feel about the price hikes?
After viewing some of the new costs, McDonald’s UK supporters took to Reddit’s r/McDonald’sUK sub to declare they were “done.”

“Chippy food is far better priced than McDonald’s, and you’re getting way more food for just a bit more money,” stated a user using the handle u/HawaiiNintendo815.
After the Wrap of the Day change, u/ThrowawaySunnyLane declared, “If that’s nationwide, I’m done with Maccies; that was my last little pleasure with them.”
“Damn, we got two large Big Arch and two McFlurries and it was £32,” wrote u/4kreso, who was also unhappy. McDonald’s has reached its limit. There is no rationale for these rises.
As u/mr_xcoii commented, “They actually fuck McDonald’s by raising all prices after first removing the Chili Double Cheeseburger and Triple Cheeseburger.”

However, other users noted that when purchasing fast food, the delivery cost would always be greater. One user, u/Virtual_Remote_8467, posted: “That’s the delivery price.” You will pay more because the delivery company requires a commission on the orders.
The u/colawar veteran added, “Why keep moaning?” because he was sick of people whining. Simply stop purchasing!
Why did McDonald’s raise their prices?
A McDonald’s representative told Metro that some pricing has increased as a result of a recent review.

“We refuse to compromise on the quality of our ingredients—which means we have to review our prices when these ingredients cost more,” they stated. We are able to maintain our quality standards by raising some pricing, such as the 100% British and Irish beef used in our beef patties and the 100% chicken breast used in our chicken McNuggets.
We are aware of the significance these hold for our clients. Adding value is still of utmost importance. We consistently strive to provide each client with a tailored value proposition. Our approach includes always-on value deals like our highly popular Wrap of the Day and, of course, our Saver Menu, as well as weekly app discounts.
The news comes after McDonald’s changed the classic burger for the first time in fifty years with the introduction of the brand-new Double Filet-O-Fish.

Additionally, the fast-food restaurant chain has announced that in July, Squishmallows will be back at Happy Meals.
