Man Leaves His Old Mother-In-Law with Gang Members, Returns Later and Doesn’t Recognize Her Home

In order to prevent his mother-in-law from pestering him about her home repairs, a guy comes up with a scheme involving a local gang. When he rushes over to her house two days later, after hearing from the gang members that “the job is done,” he finds something unexpected.
Michael didn’t make much money working in a tiny grocery shop in Mexico, so he and his wife Victoria lived in a modest home and made every effort to conserve money. Michael would so become furious whenever his mother-in-law, Betty, harassed him with her demands.

“Why is that woman acting like that? Why won’t she just leave me by myself? He used to frequently whine when she called.
Nevertheless, 85-year-old Betty was a weakling who frequently called her son-in-law to ask for assistance since she was unable to recognise the sign that he had no time to assist her.

Her calls had increased dramatically over the past six months, much to Michael’s dismay, and this time she was asking for help with home maintenance.
She cried out nervously over the phone, “Michael!” “My bed is broken and my roof is leaking!” Would you please finish the repairs this weekend?”

“Here she comes again!” Michael silently spoke to himself.

“What the hell happened?” Michael walked up to the slightly ajar front door of the house and considered.
He tried not to lose his composure and added, “I’m sorry, Mrs. Lester.” “I’m so overwhelmed by work that I won’t be able to assist you! How about you ask your neighbour for assistance?”

“Oh dear,” she laughed gullibly. “With such a lovely son-in-law, why would I go ask people for assistance? I am an elderly bird, darling. I wouldn’t have needed your assistance if I could handle things on my own. Would you kindly complete it for me?”
“I’m sorry, but—” Michael was unable to complete.

“Or do you want to get your mother-in-law a new house?” With interest, she enquired. Alternatively, how about taking me on a resort vacation? You know, while I go out and have a little fun, you can fix my house. That seems like a really good concept to me!”

Michael answered, “Uh, well,” in a frustrated tone. “More spending is not necessary. I’ll try to have those repairs done later by taking some time off. Don’t disturb me again, please! When I’m free, I’ll give you a call. Farewell!” After growling, he hung up.

Michael had to find a different method to handle his issue with his mother-in-law, though, as he knew in his heart that he would not be able to assist her with the repairs. By good fortune, he was given the opportunity three days later.

Michael saw a group of boys outside his store that day as he was heading home from work. They would often hang around there; they were all in their early twenties, so young yet poor. At that moment, Michael had a brilliant idea.

He glanced around to make sure no one saw him and approached the youngsters, who were hanging out at the far end of an alley across from the business where he worked that particular night.
Peter, the child who looked older than the rest, stepped forward and gave a frightening laugh. What, you loser, don’t you work at the grocery store across the street? I don’t think your meagre income will allow you to pay us anything! He chuckled, and the other boys joined in, saying, “And we don’t take up gigs for free!”

Michael groaned, “All right then.” “I suppose I’ll just hand over the $200 to someone else so they can finish the work. Alright. “Goodbye,” he replied, turning to walk away.

A voice stopped him cold. “Hold on a second. Did you mention $200?

“Yes,” Michael replied with a smile as he pivoted. “That’s right!”
Peter replied, “All right, good.” “We’re in, but before the work is finished, we’ll take half the payment. It is a rule.

“Well, it suits me! Here,” Michael responded, removing a $100 dollar and giving them a letter. This has my contact details and the address of my mother-in-law. She’s been waiting for you. Be sure to take care of her. This contains all of the instructions. Contact me after the task is completed.”

The boys nodded together and said, “Done!”

Michael left his house, hoping that his troubles would be over quickly. At last, he would have a calm existence and Betty would cease to annoy him. Though he hated to “waste” $200 on Betty, he knew it would be money well spent.
Michael’s phone rang two days later when he was working at the grocery store, and a message from an unknown number displayed on his screen. We really enjoyed ourselves with her! We advise you to visit her home and take a look at it.”

When he read the message, Michael grinned. “I can finally stop being annoyed by that woman! He thought to himself, “I hope they did a good job!” as he quickly took the day off from work to visit his mother-in-law’s home on the outskirts of town.

After parking his car and getting out, he realised that the house was unlike anything he had ever seen. As he got closer to the front door, which was ajar, he wondered, “What the hell happened?”

He was startled as he looked through the opening. Inside was Betty, and she was not alone herself. She was serving tea and biscuits to the boys when they arrived at her house!

As Michael stood there listening to their chats, he heard Betty laughing aloud and enjoying herself while chatting with the boys.

In his entire life, Michael had never been more confused. As he walked into Betty’s house, which had been expertly restored to look brand new, he wondered, “What is going on?”
He went inside, and Betty came over. “Oh, Michael,” she said, clutching his arm. “I appreciate you sending these boys to assist me, sweetheart. They showed me such generosity!”

“Won’t you join us for tea, Michael?” Peter walked up to Betty and asked. She was grateful that you took the time to help her, and you told us to take care of her. As we had promised, we did indeed take good care of her. Yes, Mrs. Lester?” he inquired, grinning.

She blushed and said, “Oh, of course, Peter!” Betty remarked, “They are right, Michael.” “It’s unbelievable… Though they seem weak, these youngsters are quite capable… Two nights ago, as I was getting ready for bed, these boys knocked on my door without warning.
“Being elderly and living alone, I was first scared to answer the door…These boys told me you had sent them and that all they wanted to talk about was repairs, but you know how the news these days is all about crimes and thefts.”

Michael was surprised at how different Betty’s home suddenly appeared. “Whoa! “It’s unbelievable that they carried out this task independently,” he remarked, looking around the home in confusion.
“Oh, stop acting dumb!” Betty carelessly struck him. “You sent these boys to assist me, and now you’re behaving as though you’re unaware of the boys’ extraordinary aptitude. They spent two days with me, during which they made repairs to my home.Michael, they didn’t even charge me a thing! I really appreciate you helping me out.
She put her arms around him and exclaimed, “None of this would have happened if you didn’t help me!” “I apologise for bothering you so much with my calls.That’s the reason you would complain about everything.But since you were going to assist me, why were you being so impolite? I was correct, too! The world’s greatest son-in-law!”

Overcome with passion, Michael gave her a hug back. All he wanted was for the repairs to be completed and Betty to be put out of his misery. He had not anticipated Betty’s happiness or the boys’ flawless execution of it. The way that annoying old woman looked today, it brought him to tears.

“Mrs. Lester, I’m happy they could be of assistance. I-I,” he retorted, stifling his sobs. “I was aware that your home needed work… Holding her hand, he continued, “But I was saving up for Victoria, so I couldn’t give you the money.” “She is expecting, and you will become a grandmother! And very soon, you’ll be able to play with your granddaughter in your just remodelled house.”
“What?” Betty’s gaze expanded. Did you just say, wow, that’s amazing! I will become a grandmother! Peter, did you hear that? God, oh God! Let me see Victoria today and finish off this dessert. Oh, I will take care of everyone! I’m overjoyed. She said, “I’m going to be a granny,” and made her way to the kitchen.

That day, Betty’s delight had no limits. She was ecstatic beyond measure, and Michael felt bad about treating her badly after witnessing her like that. We are grateful to Peter and the lads for helping him recognise his errors.

He said, “Thank you, Peter.” I now understand that I shouldn’t have treated my mother-in-law so disrespectfully after everything you done for her. Many thanks for it. Curious, he questioned, “But how did you get everything fixed for just $200?”

Peter disclosed that he and his lads were proficient in performing simple repairs. They were sorry to see Betty’s living conditions when they got to her residence. Her furniture was in terrible condition, the door creaked when it was opened and closed, and her roof leaked.

“I simply wasn’t able to see her that way! So I helped her along with the boys! We were unaware that she would be so ecstatic! She even fed us while we stayed over at night. In actuality, she’s quite kind!

“You know what, Michael, your family is still more important than money,” he continued. Betty is incredibly giving; we had to do this much for her because of how nice she was to us.”
Michael realised that the guys were correct to assist Betty and that he had erred in ignoring her. In an effort to give back to the guys for helping Betty, he went to a buddy who was a carpenter and secured them work so they could support themselves.

Apart from that, Michael started helping the lads on occasion by bringing food from his grocery shop to their families.

Later, when Michael and Victoria did eventually welcome their daughter, Beth, she had a whole GANG of uncles who loved to spend time with her in addition to her parents, grandparents, and playmates.
