Happy Couple Shares 10th Anniversary Picture Online, Promptly Gets Flooded with Worried Calls

When Thomas and Sienna posted a picture to social media to mark their tenth wedding anniversary, chaos ensued. The picture featured a spooky face that led to a series of events that confronted the joyful couple with a terrifying reality.
With a swift flick of the camera timer, Thomas joined Sienna in front of the hearth and remarked, “Ten years.”

In response, Sienna said, “Ten years of us.”
Sienna believed she heard a quiet sound in the hallway behind her as the camera’s timer counted down. Her gaze wavered, but she swiftly brushed it aside and returned her attention to their anniversary photo—another snapshot that documented their lives.

There was more than plenty strewn about and decorated on the walls at their house.

Thomas suddenly sighed, feeling nostalgic. His eyes wrinkled at the corners. “I remember when we first moved in here… We spent two nights sleeping on the floor,” he recalled.

“And now, every nook and cranny holds a piece of our story,” Sienna continued. Additionally, we get to distribute these things via social media to other people.” After laughing, she turned on her phone and put it aside so she could enjoy the remainder of the evening.
The sun had woken her up in the morning, but when Sienna opened her eyes, she saw that there was more agitating their tranquilly.

Thomas remarked, “Check that, hon,” his voice heavy with sluggishness. “It’s been pinging for a while now.”

With her eyes half closed, Sienna grabbed for her nightstand and held the phone up to her face. There were just too many social media notifications. She got comfy on the bed by rising a little to check them.
She frowned and continued, “People are saying there’s something weird in our photo.” “I have several missed calls, too.”

Thomas shifted in order to look at her phone. Strange? similar to what?”
As Sienna read a few remarks, her eyebrow furrowed. They claim to see an odd visage in the background. However, that’s not feasible, is it?

With a groan, he picked up the phone and looked at the picture. “Probably nothing more than shadows. Keep it out of your mind.” After giving her the phone back and shaking his head, he got out of bed for the day. However, Sienna carried on reading.

One remark featured a screenshot, drawing attention to a spooky, infantile face that was close to her shoulder in their picture. “Thomas… What on earth is that? Her finger grazed the screen as she uttered a terrified whisper.
Thomas returned and looked over, having by then finished cleaning his teeth. “It’s gotta be a prank.”

However, as Sienna recalled the sound she had heard during the picture-taking, she became frightened. She used her phone to search until she was able to locate the original image in the gallery app.
This is not a bug. It’s too genuine, too well defined. Observe its countenance,” she protested, her eyes wildly agitated.

Thomas was unconvinced, but Sienna would have none of it. She looked through each photo. “Observe. There’s this weird, foggy presence in every picture,” she noted. “It might be a ghost, I guess. Our home might be haunted.”
We’ve spent ten years living here. There was a cracked sound as he scoffed, “We would’ve noticed.” It was evident to Sienna that he was perplexed, if not completely alarmed.

While they were thinking about this strange find, Sienna went to where the camera had been and started capturing pictures in an attempt to figure out why. However, the experiment came to an abrupt end when she shrieked in terror when hands were placed over her shoulders.

“Calm down, my love. “It’s me,” her spouse remarked with a small laugh. “Ignore that picture. Remember that we have reservations for lunch?

After agreeing, Sienna dressed and cautiously glanced around the house before heading out. As Thomas unlocked the car door for her and then made his way to the driver’s seat, she kept her eyes fixed on the surroundings.
Something moved her attention to the window. She gave a start as she saw the same unsettling face. She pointed at the house and demanded, “Stop the car!” Thomas narrowed his eyes, but nothing was visible. Sienna was certain of what she had seen, even though it was gone.

That evening, footsteps and a sombre wail woke Sienna up in their home. “Awaken, my dear. Hearing cries coming from the hallway, she asked, “Do you hear that?”
Thomas also heard the boom when he woke up. He went straight for the phone.

“We can’t call 911 for a ghost!” He insisted on shielding them from a genuine threat, despite Sienna’s objections. He got off the phone, picked up his rifle, and went to investigate.
Sienna declared, “I’m going with you,” refusing to linger behind.

They moved carefully towards the location of the strange noises coming from their house. Thomas went to check on the guest bedroom, but there were footsteps downstairs. As they cautiously walked forward, they heard more noise—a different language—coming from the kitchen.

When Sienna realised at last that their house invader was real, she jumped a little and yelled again. This was no spirit. Rather, they found the same hungry youngster from their photo, and his disturbing presence. He was crying, all the tears and snot covering his thin, emaciated face.

“Freeze!” The youngster shook his head and wept, but Thomas still shouted. When he saw there was no threat, her husband turned his attention to the intruder and lowered his arm. “Hi, everything is well. We promise not to harm you.

“Help?” The optimism in the child’s eyes grew.

His pleas caused Sienna’s heart to race, but instead of dread, it went to sympathy. “You’re hungry, right?” she inquired, her smile soft.

“Hungry, yes.” The young man gave a nod.

“What’s your name?”

“Nikolai.”

The boy had not intended to break in, the pair realised as Sienna made Nikolai a sandwich. He really needed assistance. She said softly, “Where did you come from?”

Staying mute, Nikolai disclosed that he had fled from a “bad place.”
She asked, “Where’s your mother now?”

That gave him a slight smile. With a sniff, he said, “You will help Mama?”

After a moment of fumbled speech, Sienna nodded and said, “Of course we will, dear. Just let us know where to look for her.”

“I see flowers in the garden, like the sky, and a bear on the wall. “Big dog is there, so I run to the wire wall,” Nikolai cried once more. “I’m sorry, son. I flee, leaving Mama by herself.”

Something knocked them out. Thomas had called earlier, and the cops were responding. Even when Sienna assured him that the police were on the way, Nikolai became frightened and attempted to flee through a window. They’ll aid us in locating your mother.”
However, the terrified child ran away, avoiding both Sienna and the authorities. She and Thomas decided to look for Nikolai on their own the following day. They passed his picture across the community, getting a range of responses but no concrete leads.

Nancy, one of their inquisitive neighbours, identified the ‘ghost’ from their anniversary picture. She joined the search, and in due course, others also joined.

At last, Sienna knocked on the door of a dilapidated Victorian home. Not a reply. The sound of barking close by startled her. It originated from behind a barbed-iron fence. She mumbled, “Wire wall,” and as she remembered Nikolai’s remarks, she looked around, noticing the chicory blossoms.

After looking into it more, she discovered a boarded-up window and heard a woman calling for assistance from inside. In a moment, she was holding her phone to make a police call. Then she gave Thomas a call. He soon arrived, and the neighbours gathered around him.
After breaking into the residence, the officers found Nikolai’s mother, who broke down in tears and related her side of the event. “My name is Asya. Together with my kid, I came here to start over. Man of marriage, yet he’s a monster! He held me captive,” she said in halting English.

After Nikolai was located in the basement, his mother was reunited with him shortly after his discovery. Sienna was commended by a policeman for her assistance in the rescue. “Thank you, Ma’am, for bringing this to our attention. These folks were helped by your prompt response.”

“How about the guy who carried out this?” With her arms encircling her body, Sienna questioned.

“We’ve already sent officers to arrest him at his job,” the officer reassured her. We’ll transport Asya and Nikolai to a secure location. She appears to have arrived here from Russia as a mail-order bride. We’ll make sure they get the assistance they require, even if it’s unclear at this time whether her immigration status is lawful.”

When Nikolai noticed them, he approached. He said, “I’m grateful. Now Mama and Nikolai are secure.” Waving, he returned to his mother. After that, a compassionate social worker brought them to a shelter.

Thomas and Sienna eventually made their way back home. Sighing in shock that their photo had sparked everything, they reclined on the couch. As if recalling something, Thomas snapped his fingers, and Sienna tilted her head in curiosity as he grabbed for his briefcase.

He held out a framed image of the couple’s now-famous social media shot and declared, “I think the latest photo for the mantle deserves a special place.”

Sienna remarked, “It’s the best of the bunch,” and the two of them laughed.
