Woman Demands Husband to Get His Stuff Out after Supporting Him for 23 Years
After having an unpleasant awakening at a cafe, a woman decides to take action. Her spouse was the first person she fired, but did he deserve it?
Despite being 52 years old, Debra Skye still had a youthful spirit. She didn’t think of herself as an elderly woman even though she was in her 50s; granted, she didn’t have much time to think about it because she needed to work three jobs to maintain her family.
After he lost his work more than twenty years ago, her husband, Austin Skye, had gradually become a burden financially.

He initially devoted all of his time to seeking for a new work, but eventually he gave up. Austin eventually became used to living as a dependent with no obligations, and he started to enjoy eating chips and drinking beer while curled up on the couch in front of the TV.
First things changed in his physique, then everything else. Despite the fact that he was unemployed, he was well-fed and clothed.
For a man who had always been a lazy person at heart, it was a dream come true. Because Debra worked many jobs, everything was sufficient for him, but he didn’t seem to recognise her efforts.
Debra was 19 and he was 20, and they had been utterly in love when they got married when they were hardly even adults.
Debra continued to hope that Austin would start putting himself out there for employment again, and she thought about that love. Even when their relatives banded together to make fun of him, she continued to be his ardent defender.
She became pregnant with their daughter, Kayla, which is why they married so young. Of course, if they hadn’t gotten married, there would have been repercussions, but because of their love, it was an easy and even natural choice.
The man divorced Kayla, so like them, their daughter married young and had a child who would grow up without his father.
Kayla was left to care for her child on her own and was unable to go to work due to the small child under her supervision. She turned to Debra for assistance.
Reliable mum Debra made the decision to help out financially, providing Kayla with a regular stipend to take care of herself and her child.
The consistent flow of money never faltered, which encouraged Kayla to become complacent about securing her own source of income. She began to rely entirely on the allowance she was receiving and gave up on finding a suitable job.
That went on like that for a while until Debra was suddenly hit with a harsh reality. The woman left her house early that day and made a quick stop at Starbucks for her coffee, just like any other day.

After entering the cafe, she waited patiently in a three-person queue for her turn while watching her watch.
If I’m late today, Gordon will eat me alive, she told herself.
Although her boss was aware of her workload and typically gave her some leeway, Debra was aware that she had been pushing herself too hard in the past few days. Just as she was about to get her turn, a few adolescent customers boldly entered the café and began to cut in front of her impatiently tapping her foot.
The young man working as the cashier, who had a bored expression on his face, said nothing and just began serving them. Her gaze stunned Debra beyond belief.
She tightened her teeth and muttered, “Excuse me?” “Are you not able to see me standing here? Now it was my time.
“I’m sorry ma’am, kids will be kids right?” With an uneasy smile, the man behind the counter said.
“What’s your deal with that anyway?” said one of the teens.
“Yeah, got somewhere you have to be?” Someone other said in a derisive tone.
The third adolescent remarked, “I don’t think pensioners have anywhere they need to hurry to.”
They massed, “You can stand in the queue all day if you want,” and walked to the opposite end to retrieve their orders. It was shocking to Debra to see such misbehaving kids, but not as shocking as what they stated.
She took a while to look at herself in the mirror as she got back to her car. She spotted a woman who appeared quite exhausted. Her face was starting to show many wrinkles, and her dark hair was gradually becoming grey. The grey strands reminded Debra how much she had been ignoring herself, even though she couldn’t recall when they had first started to appear.

In desperation, she thought, “I can’t even remember the last time I was in a hair salon.”
She wondered what she had been doing for all this time, and the answer came to her right away: working nonstop.
She became quite unhappy about it and realised that all she had ever done was put her family’s needs ahead of her own during her entire life. She said to herself, “This has to end.”
Debra called her daughter as soon as possible to let her know what she had decided.
“Hey, Mama As soon as Kayla answered, she exclaimed, “I was just going to call you.” “I was hoping you could send me my allowance earlier than Friday?”
Disappointed that her daughter had not even allowed her to speak, Debra retorted, “No Kayla, I will not do that.”
“What? Why, Mama?” Kayla expressed dissatisfaction.
“Because you’ve become overly content with your current circumstances. You should go to sleep now.”
“What are you saying, Mama?”
“I’m announcing that your allowance is terminated and that you will no longer be getting it, effective immediately. Get out there and work for what you want—money.”
After that, Debra hung up the phone and looked for a beauty parlour. There, she had her hair coloured and received numerous other services like a lovely haircut and manicure.
After turning off her phone to savour the now unusual experience, she went to a shopping centre and purchased multiple stunning gowns, choosing to wear one of them home. She did not take her old clothes out of the mall.
Her husband, who had answered a call from her supervisor that had been routed to their landline, inquired about her whereabouts when they got home.
From his couch, Austin stated, “Two of your bosses said you didn’t turn up for your shifts.” He chewed a bite of chip and coughed up the chip when he turned to look at Debra.
With wide eyes, “Debs, is that you?” he inquired.
“Yes, it is,” she firmly answered.
He furiously said, “You went clothes shopping and all when you were supposed to be working?”

After giving him a hazy response, he began berating her for wasting so much money on all the beautiful things she was treating herself to.
Kayla entered the house with the assurance of a person who has done something bad as they were having a furious argument. Without stopping to read the room, she questioned, “Why would you cut my allowance off?”
She noticed her mother’s new appearance after a brief moment and made note of how at ease she was spending so much money on herself while ignoring her requests for assistance.
It took Debra a time to collect herself before answering and telling her daughter what had happened. As the youngster struggled to control her shock, her mother came to her father and confided in him about her wish to file for divorce.
“I’m done cleaning up after you Austin,” she replied. The man was taken aback. Debra did not back down, even though he could not understand why she had turned against them so quickly.
“I have carried this family’s financial difficulties for the last 20 years. However, I’m exhausted right now and would prefer to concentrate that energy on myself,” Debra sobbed. It felt a lot like conceding defeat, but she had no other option. The people she was defending had long since given up.
She yelled, “I want you to leave.”
“What? You cannot mean that,” remarked Austin.
She answered, “I do,” and walked by him to their chamber. After the event of that evening, Kayla ceased begging Debra for money, and Austin moved out of their house due to his wounded pride.
After a month, Debra left her demanding and unappealing occupations to choose a position that truly sparked her interest. She went about her life, saw the world, and assisted her daughter in taking care of her grandson when she could.
Despite her husband’s pleas for her to come back once he secured employment, Debra never looked back on her decision to end their marriage. She had told him, “I will keep your offer in mind,” and ever since then, he had not given up attempting to earn her respect.
