Man Leaves Ex-wife with Nothing, Five Years Later She Finds Him Sleeping in Her Car’s Trunk – Story of the Day

After divorcing his wife, he takes everything from her and leaves her with their two children. She discovers him dozing off in her car’s trunk years later.

In college, Sally Burling got to know Oliver Corman. He was one of the most popular guys on college, a talented football player with a bright future, and she was a pretty, shy accountancy student.

Following graduation, Oliver was offered a contract to play for a local team, so he got married and prepared to go to New Orleans with Sally. But Oliver had an accident a month prior to the relocation.

Oliver was struck by a cab after he crossed the street against a red light. Oliver had a tragic mishap that might have resulted in his death. The future he had spent his entire life creating was lost to him. His professional career was put on hold due to a torn tendon in his left ankle, forcing him to reconsider his options.

Oliver was in the hospital, and Sally sat next to him, holding his hand. “Babes,” she murmured in her quiet, resolute manner. “Everything will be OK for us. We dream one dream and lose another.”

It is necessary to gain second opportunities.

Oliver shut his eyes and gave the impression of nodding off. It was okay for Sally to speak; she had not lost anything by doing so. He was angry with life, and for no apparent reason, he was also angry at Sally.

Sally was correct, though. Oliver secured a position as an assistant coach for a prosperous high school team, and she secured employment in a large accounting firm.
The young couple purchased their former home after Oliver’s parents relocated to Florida, and three years later, Sally became pregnant. She was six months pregnant and beaming with happiness.

Sally grinned as she softly covered her swollen belly with her hands. “It all worked out so beautifully,” she sighed.

Oliver lost it. “It turned out well?,” he cried as he hurled his glass against the wall. Teaching snotty-nosed kids half my talent to reach the top is like me being a gimp. All I have is your complaining to me! It didn’t work out nicely.

Oliver later apologised to a tearful Sally, but their marriage had already begun to show signs of strain.

Sally returned to her job after giving birth to twin boys. She received an amazing rise in addition to a prompt promotion. Oliver despised that she was making three times his income. Then he received an offer to coach the football team at the nearby college.
Oliver’s circumstances improved, and he partially recovered his previous standing. A little too much, he also began to notice the attractive girls that attended the sports.

Oliver said to Sally, “I think you should be home with the kids.” “They are starting school and I don’t want them being latch-key kids.”

Sally remarked, “But, Oliver…” “We need the money…”

“Are you saying I can’t support my family?” Oliver posed a tough question. “Am I a loser in any way? An entanglement?”

Sally exclaimed, “No!” “Of course not…”
“Don’t you love your kids?” Oliver enquired. “Or is the money more important to you?”

Naturally, Sally decided to leave her work and spend more time at home with the kids.

Oliver and Sally’s bond become increasingly strained. Although Sally felt Oliver was flirting and even having affairs with the college girls, she was too scared to confront him. His harsh tongue and explosive temper had become her new normal.

Rather, she chose to make the most of her circumstances, and her kids were a joy until the day Oliver ejected her. One day, he simply stated, “Pack your things,” as he entered. You are relocating.”

“What?” Sally gave a start. “I don’t understand!”

“I’m divorcing you, do you understand that?” stated Oliver. “Get out.”

Sally sobbed, “The children…”

Oliver said, “You keep the children.” “Just get out.”

After packing her belongings and the kids’, Sally travelled to her parents’ house. However, she had one more surprise after the divorce. Oliver’s parents still owned the house, thus she had no legal claim to it. With nothing, she left the marriage.

“You have your kids,” her mother firmly stated. “You can always rely on your career. You’ll be all right.

She was, too. Sally secured employment elsewhere. Although her pay was lower, her skill immediately brought her recognition and a promotion. Now that she was back on the fast track, nothing could stop her this time.
After five years, Sally was content. She owned her own home, had a terrific career as CFO of a huge firm, and her kids were doing well.

She grabbed up some cloth shopping bags from the kitchen and headed for her car one Saturday morning when she made the decision to go shopping. She had a severe shock as she opened the trunk to store the baggage. Inside her trunk, sound asleep, was a scrawny, unclean man! With a start, the man awoke upon hearing Sally’s scream.

“Please,” he sobbed. “I don’t mean any harm…”

That’s when Sally realised who he was. She gasped, “Oliver?” “Why are you in this place? Are you pursuing me on the internet?”

“No!” Oliver started crying. “I was unaware that this was your vehicle. The only trunk I could open, and it was just so damn chilly.”
Sally’s eyes were fixed on him. He didn’t resemble the attractive, sporty man she had remembered. “Whatever happened to you?” she murmured.

Tears clouded Oliver’s eyes. “The college… I was accused of getting the kids on steroids…” stated he. “I had to sell the house to pay the lawyer, even though it wasn’t true. I spent all of my money on legal bills, yet I was still imprisoned for a year. I’m not going to be hired now.”

“I see,” Sally replied.

Oliver said, “Sally, everything went down the drain after you left.”
Oliver, Sally reminded him, “I didn’t go.” “You kicked me out.”

Oliver answered, “You don’t understand what I was going through,” with an injured look. Sal, I have never stopped loving you.

Sally’s face became more amicable. “Oh, Oliver,” she uttered regretfully. “How did we get to this?”

“Possibly…Perhaps this is another opportunity,” Oliver remarked. “We could be happy…”

Sally paused. “Oliver, get in the car,” she then ordered. I’ll assist you.

Oliver smiled confidently as he settled into the passenger seat. He was aware that he had the ability to enchant Sally.

However, Sally pulled up in front of a big skyscraper thirty minutes later. She clarified, “This is a homeless shelter.” “They’ll take you in so you don’t have to sleep in my car ever again.”
“But, Sal!” Oliver objected. “I thought we were going to talk…”

Sally stated, “There’s nothing to talk about.” “What have I noticed, you know? You haven’t seen the kids in five years, and you didn’t even inquire about them. Oliver, we don’t need you and we certainly don’t want you. Leave now.”

Oliver exited the car and observed Sally drive off. He then entered the shelter and asked to be placed in a bed.
