My Ex-husband’s Fiancée Said I Am ‘Heartless’ – Am I Wrong for Not Feeling Pity Towards Her?
Immediately following the dissolution of her marriage, this woman expressed a need to establish unambiguous boundaries between her former spouse and his new companion. At the same time, she was accused of being heartless, despite the fact that she had made multiple steps to distance herself from the new marriage.
A woman revealed her story of negotiating the delicate balance of co-parenting with her ex-husband while concurrently striving to establish clear boundaries with his new partner in an emotional confession that she posted on Reddit.

The marriage of a woman who was 36 years old and her husband, Tom, who was 35 years old, was terminated when Tom cheated on her with a woman named Tammy whom he began dating at work. At a work event, the Redditor recounted meeting her while she was heavily pregnant with her youngest child. Tammy threatened her, “Better up your wife game, or I might steal him off you.” The Redditor was pregnant with her youngest child at the time. After a period of three months, her husband left her in favour of Tammy.

Tammy attempted to have a chat with Tom regarding the future of their relationship since she would be a part of the Redditor’s life. This conversation took place while she was at her house, assisting Tom with packing his belongings. She went on to clarify that her initial warning was nothing more than a joke, but the Redditor expressed relief that Tammy had taken her husband away from her. My ex-boyfriend made a remark about how her brain was not fully matured despite the fact that she was 23 years old. It was so horrible that it changed my grief into relief,” she added. “I got the ick so badly.”

As a result of the Redditor discovering that her husband had been cheating on her, the divorce proceedings were not complicated. She ended up getting everything in the divorce, and the custody arrangement was agreed upon to be 50/50. A civil relationship with her ex-spouse was something that the mother desired to maintain for the sake of her children.
Because of this, the defunct couple was able to attend gatherings together without any conflicts occurring. After some time had passed, Tammy began to assist with the process of collecting up the children. Tammy would go out of her way to get a response from the mother, despite the fact that the mother maintained a friendly relationship with her on the whole.
In the course of one of the pickups, Tammy made it a point to display her engagement ring. She even went so far as to request that the Redditor be a bridesmaid and that her daughters also participate in the wedding.

The 36-year-old, on the other hand, did not show much interest in the wedding and hardly spoke to Tammy as she discussed it. Additionally, she was in a hurry to get her cat to the veterinarian. Later on, however, she learned from her husband that Tammy was dissatisfied with her lack of interest in the matter.
During a different event, Tammy disclosed that she was expecting a child, and the Original Poster (OP) did not provide her with the response that she had anticipated, which caused her to feel a great deal of anger. A few months later, she informed her that they were expecting a son, and the Reddit user responded by saying, “I’m sure Lord Tom is excited for an heir to take over his lands and titles.” Tammy, on the other hand, did not find her joke to be humorous.

In December, when they were both working as drop-off drivers, the two women had not seen each other since then. The Reddit user noted that Tammy was no longer pregnant when they met each other again during their subsequent encounter. “We lost the baby,” Tammy said with tears in her eyes. “We were devastated.”
She was disappointed that the Redditor did not show her the sympathy that she had hoped for. “I didn’t answer, just told Tom our second daughter has a birthday party tomorrow at 3 and the oldest has gymnastics at 5,” according to her.

In the end, this was the final straw for Tammy. She raised her voice and yelled at the OP, describing her as “heartless” and “bitter.” Additionally, her ex-husband informed her that she had the ability to show some compassion towards the emotionally distressed woman, particularly considering that she was the stepmother of her children.

On the other hand, the Reddit user did not believe that she owed the couple any pity because the only thing that brought them together was their children. “I told Tom I don’t care about what he’s going through because outside our kids, I don’t care about them, and I don’t owe Tammy anything, especially pity,” she explained again.
In any other setting, the OP would not have been troubled by what Tom had to say about her; however, when her former in-laws also informed her that she ought to have been kinder to Tammy, the OP began to question whether or not she was wrong for how she behaved to the situation.
