Gary Sinise, who plays the lead role on “CSI: New York,” has disclosed that his son, McCanna “Mac” Sinise, passed away at 33.
Mac lost his fight against chordoma, a rare type of cancer, on January 5 after a five-and-a-half-year struggle with the disease.
On Tuesday, the Gary Sinise Foundation posted a photo of Mac on Instagram, saying, “In Honour & Memory of McCanna ‘Mac’ Sinise 1990-2024.” Mac Sinise was married to Gary Sinise from 1990 until 2024.

Additionally, Sinise is well-known for his roles in “Forrest Gump,” “Apollo 13,” and “The Green Mile.” He has been honored with an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Tony Award.

“Just like any other family that has suffered such a loss, we are inconsolable and have been coping with everything to the best of our abilities,” he wrote.
When a kid passes away, it is a very terrible time for parents. To everyone who has experienced a loss comparable to this one, as well as to anybody who has lost a loved one, my heart goes out to you.
To a certain extent, every one of us has been through it. Throughout the years, I have gotten to know many families of our fallen soldiers.

It’s not just tricky, but it’s also unfortunate. Throughout five and a half years, our family endured a battle against cancer, which got more difficult as time progressed.
We are soothed by the knowledge that Mac is no longer suffering, and we are impressed and touched by how he managed to go through it.
At the same time, our hearts are breaking because we miss him. Mac and Moira both received cancer diagnoses in 2018, with Moira’s being breast cancer, according to the actor who disclosed this information.

Since then, Moira has made a full recovery. Sinise continued by saying, “He fought an uphill battle against cancer that has no cure, but he never quit trying,” so extending her statement.
“Mac was a huge movie fan, and we always told him that he reminded us of the soldier at the end of the extraordinary film 1917.
He was running through the battlefield as bombs went off all around him, knocking him down one after the other. However, he kept getting back up, refusing to quit, and continuing to run forward.”
Anecdotes regarding his son’s musical abilities were included in Sinise’s collection, as well as photographs of himself and Mac.

Mac had a passion for drumming, and Sinise said he attended the USC Thorton School of Music to study songwriting and composition.
Furthermore, he said that Mac Sinise’s music videos are accessible on the YouTube website for Mac Sinise and that he was now working on an album titled “Mac Sinise: Resurrection and Revival,” which would be released at a date that has not yet been communicated.
The disease known as chordoma, according to Sinise, “is one in a million cancer.” According to what he wrote, the disease originates in the spine and affects an average of just 300 persons in the United States each year.

It is possible to remove the original tumor in seventy percent of instances, and the patient is cured—nevertheless, the disease returns in thirty percent of cases, around ninety individuals annually.
Because he and his family “hope to shine a little bit of light on what has been a difficult time,” Sinise decided to open up about his experience.
In addition, he said that “Mac was a true light for all of us.” “He confronted his struggle with elegance, bravery, and love, and he was a tremendous inspiration to all who knew and loved him. “

“Even though he had one failure after another, he never stopped living, learning, creating, giving, and loving over his whole life. He had affection for every member of our family. “
“While I was working hard to handle the day-to-day medical treatment, his lovely mother, Moira, was his constant companion. His amazing sisters, Sophie and Ella, and their children were also there. “
How much he adored her. Lulu and Mimi, his carers, his grandmother, his aunts and uncles, his cousins, and his brothers-in-law are all members of his extended family.

There are a significant number of friends who adored him and who loved him in return. “Thank you very much, Mac,” he continued. Oh, you did it! The Resurrection and Revival will continue to exist.
You, too, will do the same. Within our hearts for all time. Your presence in our lives as a son, brother, and friend was a blessing, and we will miss you and love you for the rest of eternity.
Gary Sinise, the proud father of Mac Sinise, signed his message with the words “Gary Sinise.”
