Wedding Wars: When Love, Loyalty, and Revenge Collide
My Brother Proposed at My Wedding during My Bride’s Father-Daughter Dance – We Took Revenge
- My wedding day is meant to be the happiest day of my life. However, my brother chose to take center stage.
- My brother took advantage of the chance to pop the question to his girlfriend while my bride and her father were dancing.
- Don’t worry, though; we caught him red-handed. He was seeing stars when my wife and I came up with a strategy for retaliation.
Now, everyone, fasten your seatbelts, for I have a rather interesting family drama to tell you. This story revolves on love, treachery, and retaliation, and it all begins with me, Alex.
As you can see, I am the oldest of three siblings—my sister, Anna, is 32, and my younger brother, Jeff, is 29. Due to birth problems, Jeff had to spend a month in the critical care unit and had a difficult beginning to life.

My parents were very kind and caring toward him, even to the point of ignoring Anna and me, as you may understand. Please understand that although I adore my brother, there are moments when I feel as though I’m living in his shadow.
At family get-togethers, he constantly steals the show and makes it all about him. And let me tell you, it has really strained our bond with both our parents and him. But hold on, it gets even more juicy.
After falling in love, Jeff began dating 24-year-old Emma. Emma did something you won’t believe during Anna’s baby shower. She disclosed that she was expecting a child. Isn’t that incredible courage? And let me tell you, this revelation didn’t exactly improve things; tensions between Jeff and the rest of us siblings were already rather high.

Let’s go back in time to my own wedding day. I’m getting married to my beautiful 30-year-old wife, Lily. I had planned a straightforward elopement when I originally proposed to her. But Lily insisted on bringing her family along, bless her heart. I invited Jeff and my own family out of obligation. And I have to admit, I almost felt bad about that choice.
As the wedding gets ready, my closest friend James notices that Jeff has a jewelry store receipt peeking out of his pocket. Naturally, James confronts Jeff about it because he is a good friend, and, well, let’s just say that things got out of hand pretty soon.
“Hey, what’s that in your pocket, Jeff?” James looked at the receipt and inquired, his eyes hardening.

Jeff tried to cram the receipt back into his pocket as his face grew pale. “Oh, it’s nothing, just some… um… spare change.”
James did not accept it. Jeff, hurry up; I’ve seen what it was. “Were you planning to pop the question?”
Jeff sighed as his shoulders went down. “Yes, I was. I wanted Emma to have a memorable day.”

I experienced a mixture of disappointment and annoyance. “Jeff, this cannot be happening during my wedding. I apologize, but I must ask you to resign from your role as my groomsman.”
Tears sprung into Jeff’s eyes. “But I adore Emma, Alex. For her, I wanted to make it extra special.”
I gave a headshake. “Yes, Jeff, I understand. It’s not the appropriate time or location, though. Please be mindful of this.”
I discovered my dad and Jeff having a furious fight later that evening. “Jeff never acknowledged preparing a proposal, Alex. Your actions are unjust,” my mother urged.

“You are aware of Jeff’s past, Dad. I countered, “He always manages to make it about him.”
With a groan, my father ran his hand through his hair. “Look, Alex, let’s just get through the wedding without any more drama, okay?” However, I wasn’t going to let him off the hook so lightly.
As the big day finally arrives, Emma is surprised when Jeff proposes to her in front of everyone by waltzing over to her during Lily’s father-daughter dance. Drama, with a capital D, is it possible?

We were enraged by now, and Lily was on the verge of tears. When we finally met after the dance, I could see mischief in her eyes.
“What’s up with the smirk? You think it’s humorous that our lovely moment has been ruined?” I enquired.
It goes without saying that Lily is furious and planning her retaliation the night after the wedding. Thus, she and Anna devise a scheme to have Jeff taste his own medicine. And do we deliver, oh yeah.

After a few months, Jeff and Emma’s wedding was drawing near. From selecting the ideal cake to deciding on the location, they were occupied with all the preparations. Naturally, Anna, Lily, and I were there to assist at every turn.
When the big day for Jeff’s wedding finally arrives, we’ve prepared everything, including the invites, the location, and the food. The worst part is that we forge the invitations, so Jeff and his bride are the only ones who accept. What a plot twist, do I get it?
“Alex, he wrecked our beautiful day. With a determined look in her eyes, she added, “We cannot allow him to escape punishment.”
I agreed and nodded. “Lily, you’re correct. He must understand that his acts have repercussions.”

We thus devised a retaliation plan. Jeff would be duped into believing that everyone was attending the wedding by us pretending to be the invitations. And then we would not show up on the day of the ceremony.
I: “Alright, Lily, we need to make sure everything goes smoothly today.”
Lily: “I concur. We can’t allow Jeff to sabotage this again after all of our hard work.”
Me: “Definitely. It’s unbelievable that he had the audacity to perform that act during our wedding.”

Lily: “It was totally inappropriate, I know that. However, we have the opportunity to give him a taste of his own medicine today.”
Me: “That’s right. Okay, let’s start this performance. Are you ready, Anna?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be,” says Anna. Let’s make sure everything goes according to plan.”
Lydia: “Alright, let’s do this.”
[After at the location]
Me: “Everything is arranged flawlessly. Emma and Jeff won’t have any suspicions.”
Lily: “Hopefully not. This revenge scheme needs to be carried out perfectly.”

A tiny bit of retaliation goes a long way.
Anna said, “I can’t wait to see the look on Jeff’s face when he realizes what’s happening.”
When the wedding day finally arrived, Emma and Jeff were prepared to exchange vows. Anticipating the arrival of their loved ones, they waited impatiently at the location. However, as the hours passed, it was evident that something was off.
Jeff: “Everyone is where? There seems to be a problem.”
Emma: “Jeff, I’m not sure. Perhaps they’re simply behind schedule.”
However, Jeff sensed something wasn’t quite right. Then a postcard and a tiny wedding cake for two arrived in the mail.
“What’s this?” asked Jeff.
Emily: “It’s a cake… for us.”

The postcard has a little message on it. It said: “You took our special events, now we decided to take yours!”
As Jeff read the postcard, his cheeks flushed crimson with rage. “What’s the intended meaning of this? What is happening?”
He suddenly realized, “Our revenge has been served!” at that point. Jeff and Emma were meant to be alone on their special day, but Lily, Anna, and I had planned the entire event.
Lily said, “I can’t believe we pulled it off.”
Jeff: “It’s unbelievable that all of you did this to me. I considered us to be relatives.”
Me: “You took over my wedding day, Jeff. This was inevitable for you.”
Emma: “They’re correct, Jeff. People’s treasured moments cannot be simply destroyed, and you cannot act indifferently.”

Jeff was obviously pissed off. He wished to break things off and never talk to us again. He understood, nevertheless, that he had it coming. Jeff own up to his error, and one by one we all started to patch up our damaged ties.
Jeff: “I suppose I earned it. I apologize to everyone.
Me: “I accept your apology, Jeff. Let’s go on and put this behind us.
Emma: “I concur. Let’s put our marriage first and put the turmoil aside.”
[We all give each other a hug, eager to move on.]
What about Emma and Jeff? They did, however, ultimately tie the knot—albeit in a far more modest and intimate setting. However, there are instances when the simple things—like learning to value and not take for granted what you have—matter the most.

And that, my friends, is the crazy roller coaster that is the drama in my family. We discovered a priceless lesson: a family can be restored with a little love, forgiveness, and even a little bit of retribution.
Others have posted their tales of retaliation online in the same manner that Alex did. These tales demonstrate that although there are many different ways to exact revenge, sometimes the most delightful is the most unexpected.
In one tale, a pizza delivery guy exacts precise change from obnoxious patrons as payback. He tosses the penny into the street with dramatic flair when they eventually acquire enough money to deliver it to him. He was thrilled that they had witnessed him accomplish it.

Another internet user displayed a homeowner’s creative counterattack against a neighbor who kept damaging their Halloween décor. The home’s owner came up with a really smart concept.
They grabbed a big pumpkin and put concrete inside of it. This rendered the pumpkin indestructible. The car broke when the driver attempted to drive into the pumpkin. The finest aspect? The motorist was left without a car after the owner had it taken away.
A woman’s brother was involved in her retaliation. He had gotten her upset once in high school when she was with her brother. She thus desired to exact revenge on him. She disconnected the TV, removed the batteries from the TV remote, and scrawled “broken” on it.

For days, her brother was unaware of what she was doing. On the internet, a lot of people found it funny and felt sorry for her brother for not seeing it sooner.
Another revenge scenario had a colleague who continually emptying another person’s desk bin of trash soaked in ketchup. The coworker refused to stop, even after being urged to do so. The irritated party made the decision to exact revenge.

They told the coworker that because they didn’t like the smell of old ketchup, they couldn’t use their own bin. Subsequently, they began concealing the ketchup bottles behind their colleague’s desk drawer. Even with six canisters stashed there, the coworker failed to discover.
Someone told them about their untidy roommate who strewn things all over the bathroom. Money was discovered among several things one day, and it was placed in the roommate’s drawer. As the roommate cleaned the bathroom, she searched for the money.
The person made the decision to wait to speak until the roommate had finished tidying up. The person placed the money in the roommate’s hamper since they felt it was inappropriate to disclose its whereabouts. The roommate was pleased to find it, and the bathroom remained cleaner as a result.

A woman told her story of getting even with her brother and his dirty ex-girlfriend. Numerous possessions were left behind by her brother’s girlfriend. Later, the brother’s fiancée cheated on him, threw him out, and demanded the return of her belongings.
The woman shipped back the items with some modifications, showing support for her brother. She ruined the ex-girlfriend’s clothes by leaving personal care goods open and writing an apologetic note on a piece of paper that was sitting on the garments. The ex-girlfriend never got in touch with the woman’s brother again after discovering the parcel full of torn clothes and other belongings.
