Exposed: The Shocking Truth Behind the Photo on My Boss’s Computer
A Photo on My Boss’s Computer Ruined My Life
When Tasha awakens, her fiancé sends her a menacing text that ends their relationship. However, she discovers there’s a lot more to the story when she arrives at the office. Is this just a coincidence, or is there another reason?
Imagine getting unexpectedly dumped by your fiancé by SMS.
Tash, we are no longer able to be together. Please do not attempt to contact me. It’s finished.
In that very moment. What about our nuptials, too? In just two months.

Naturally, I was a mess. We had dated for years, Jonathan and I. However, I knew I was going to have a busy week because it was Monday morning. I was too poor to curl up in a corner and cry.
Jonathan could not have an impact on my work. The breakup text had altered everything else, with the exception of my work.
“Life goes on despite heartbreak, Tasha,” I told myself as I looked in the mirror.
So I tried to keep my head down and concentrate on my task. I felt compelled to call Jonathan and inquire about the reasons behind this sudden separation. However, I had to honor myself.

A few hours later, Mr. Clark, my supervisor, called as I was working at my desk. He was a formidable individual who favored working from his cozy home office.
I took up the phone and his voice burst into my ear, “Tasha!”
“Good morning, Mr. How may I assist? With a swallow of cold coffee, I asked.
“I need you to use my computer to access a few files. Could you please forward them to me right away?”
“Of course,” I replied, getting to my feet fast, as if he was observing me.
“I’ll send you an email with what I need,” he replied. “Thanks!”

Not a huge deal, I told myself. I had to keep myself occupied nonetheless because Jonathan was on my mind all the time.
Mr. Clark’s workplace exuded elegance. Throw pillows blanketed the long couch he owned. I just wanted to curl up on the couch and sleep.
How was Jonathan able to be so chilly? A message? I found it incomprehensible that he would waste so many years of marriage on a text message.
I couldn’t make any sense of it at all. We were doing well, in my opinion. Fantastic, even. I had finally said yes to my ideal outfit a few days prior.
And right now?

The dress needed to be given back.
I turned on Mr. Clark’s desktop computer by pressing the power button and waited for it to boot up.
Feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders, I reclined in the chair. I had to take a breath.
When I signed in once the computer turned on, I experienced the worst shock of my life.
That restaurant, which Jonathan and I used to frequent frequently, was featured in my boss’s screensaver. He had even made the proposal at our regular table, right there.
I saw it as soon as I located the folder I was searching for.

Jonathan’s expression.
My boss was there, grinning back at me, along with Jonathan and two very attractive women. Mr. Clark had introduced us at the company Christmas dinner, so I knew one of the women was my boss’s wife.
Jonathan’s smile extended to his eyes as I studied his face. The woman’s hand was holding his as he wrapped it around her waist.
Jonathan had a joyful expression.

I called my employer from his office while I was in a panic.
“Sir, why on earth is my ex-fiancé on your desktop?”
“What do you mean?” Mr. Clark enquired. “My wallpaper?”
“Yes!” I cried out, conscious that my voice was higher than usual.
“Ex-fiance, did you just say that? Tasha?” he enquired frantically.
Indeed! Jonathan was my fiancé until this morning,” I remarked. “How do you know him?”
“My son-in-law is going to be that man soon. Next weekend, my daughter Kelsey and he will tie the knot.”
He was taken aback.

“Tasha, I’ll see you at the office soon. Await my arrival,” he said.
Mr. Clark set to work and poured whiskey for each of us from his top shelf.
Then he opened out to me about his personal life. Mr. Clark announced that Kelsey, his daughter, recently became engaged.
About a year ago, she introduced my wife and I to Jonathan. And on her birthday this year, they announced their engagement. Compared to me, my wife has been more involved in the wedding plans.”

He hesitated, raising a sip of his beverage.
You just swiped your card, I said, instantly regretting my actions.
Mr. Clark’s brows went up.
Sincerely, I said, “I’m sorry.” I’ve had a terrible day. Kindly proceed.”
“Last week, Jonathan came over for dinner, and he and Kelsey announced that they would be moving the wedding date up.”
I just stared at the hole in my stockings and said nothing.
He questioned, “You didn’t suspect anything?”
“Not at all. I did not live with Jonathan. Our wedding, which is expected to take place in two months, was the only reason we intended to move in together.”
Mr. Clark said, “You have a lot of difficult phone calls to make.”
I gave a nod.

After that, Mr. Clark questioned me extensively regarding Jonathan’s full name, address, date of birth, and other details. Though his face was staring back at us from the computer wallpaper, he wanted to be sure we were talking about the same individual.
My Boss went into protective dad mode after the first shock. We introduced Jonathan to Kelsey after he called her in.
Seeing her cry allowed me to finally let go of my feelings.
Mr. Clark, not sure what to do, gave us both tissues.
He abruptly remarked, “You girls have to teach him a lesson.”
We decided to have a family meal and catch up, and Mr. Clark would invite Jonathan to the restaurant.

“He wouldn’t turn down a free dinner,” Kelsey remarked.
Mr. Clark said, “Meet us there,” as I was heading off for the day.
I took a tremendously hot shower at home and felt the water against my skin. I was excited to show Jonathan that I wasn’t brokenhearted by his betrayal, so I had prepared to dress up.
Our favorite restaurant served dinner, and it was filled to the brim with all the memories I had of Jonathan.

It was priceless to see the expression on his face when he saw me sitting with the Clarks. I was reluctant to speak. I was worried that I might crumble the mask I had put on.
Mr. Clark took the initiative to tell the truth: we had figured out Jonathan.
“It’s not what you believe,” said Jonathan. “I love you both.”
Kelsey held onto my arm the whole while Mr. Clark was speaking, like she was clinging to it for dear life.

Ultimately, Jonathan left our life by walking out. Connected by our common suffering, Kelsey and I promised to help one another. Additionally, Mr. Clark urged me to take a break.
“Tasha, paid leave,” he murmured. “Your job will be waiting for you.”
For a change of pace, I took the time off and hired out a little cabin.
Well, I’m done with Jonathan, for now. My heart aches still, nevertheless.
