One day, on the occasion of his mother’s special day, a young boy presents her with a gift that warms her heart and accompanies her down the aisle. She bursts into tears at what she discovers inside.

eleven years old Luke had a deep sorrow for his father. Andy was not only his best buddy but also his partner in crime and his company for the baseball games that took place on Friday nights. Things, however, shifted when he passed away.

In the years following Andy’s passing, Luke had stopped watching baseball, and he had never witnessed his mother, Claire, in a cheerful mood. After two years, she continued to shed tears whenever she looked at his photographs. Luke was not pleased with it, and he wished that he knew how to bring his mother back to a state of happiness.

Even though he was only 11 years old, Luke was an intelligent youngster who was aware that his mother went on dates. However, upon her return, she would be in a melancholy state. Luke was under the impression that no one could make her as happy as Andy did.

But the reality was that Claire was not prepared to allow someone else to fulfil her need for happiness. It seemed like a shame to her to allow Luke and another man to have a place in their life instead of her. How could she possibly be able to let go of the man she loved and make room in her life for a new acquaintance? Under no circumstances will she act in such a manner.

Immediately after putting Clarie’s hands in Mike’s, Luke reached into his pocket and pulled out a box, which he then gave to Claire. “Dad wanted you to open this now, mum,” he stated in response.
“But the living have to live on, mom,” Luke informed her one night. “But everything must continue.” Then, at that point, things began to shift.

“Luke, do you believe that you are prepared to have a new father? Honey, your mother is not putting any pressure on you,” she had murmured, and Luke had bowed his head and pursed his lips.

If I were to receive a new father, would you be glad for me, mum? “If you are content, then I am as well,” he stated. When I was growing up, my mother and father would often tell me that life must go on. The realisation that I could be content after Gran Molly had left us came to me in this way. She was incredibly dear to my heart!

It was the words “Living have to live on” that stayed with Claire, and after much deliberation, she made the decision to tell Luke about her new boyfriend, Mike. It had been two months since she had started dating Mike, and she had developed a strong attraction to him. However, the one thing that had prevented her from accepting their relationship with all of her heart was the idea that she might have cheated on Andy.

After hearing Luke’s words, she felt more at ease and prepared to move on to the next step. Because of this, she made the introduction between Mike and Luke one evening after dinner.

Luke was on the verge of bursting with excitement when he finally got to meet Mike. Exactly like Andy, Mike was the same! While Claire was sitting at the dinner table, he retrieved the chair for her, and after they had finished eating, he assisted her in cleaning the kitchen when they were finished.

Can I ask Luke whether he would like to have some ice cream? After he had finished speaking, Luke smiled and remarked, “I was wondering if chocolate would be a good choice.”

According to him, “That is mom’s favourite.” “Mine too!”

“All right, how about we go with chocolate? I prefer vanilla, but I guess chocolate comes out on top!” he laughed before continuing.

In a dissatisfied tone, Luke inquired, “Vanilla?” “Why is that so dull? I don’t think so, Mike!

“Actually, I have the same thoughts. Luke smiled and winked as he said, “I’m going to upgrade my favourite to chocolate now because both of my favourite people are chocolate fans.”

As time went on, Luke and Mike developed a strong friendship. Every weekend, Mike would take Claire and him out to dinner, and they would gather together to watch other people play baseball. In addition to that, he was an excellent chef!

On a particular Sunday afternoon, he prepared the most exquisite cheeseburgers and barbecue, and Luke quickly became his most devoted follower.

That was something that Claire noticed, and she also observed every other occasion that Mike had made memorable for them ever since he had entered their lives into their lives. She was content with him, and Luke was as well; so, on that particular day, she made a proposal to him, and Mike responded with an unequivocal “Yes!”

Cheers! As he hugged them, Luke said, “So it’s finally time for me to call you dad!” Nevertheless, Mike, I hope it is not a problem for you to know that my late father will forever be my favourite person. To a greater extent than anyone else, I adored him.

Mike responded, “No problems, champ,” while throwing his arms around Luke and Claire. It makes no difference to me whether I finish first or second. It is wonderful to have both you and Claire here with me.

Luke experienced a great deal of emotion on the day of Claire’s wedding, as she was standing in her room wearing her bridal gown. If you are a mother, you are aware that I will be the one to walk you down the aisle. “I am interested in doing this,” he told her.

Luke then accompanied Claire down the aisle. “Dad wanted you to open this now, mum,” he stated in response. He began by pulling a letter out of another pocket and said, “But before you open this, mum, I have to tell you something…” with the letter in his hand. “Before he was admitted to the hospital, Dad wrote it down. My interest is in reading this.

As Luke cleared his throat, he started reading Andy’s letter, which went as follows: “Luke, I am confident that your mother will always love me as much as I love you both.” However, it is acceptable for her to bring another man to our home at some point in the future. You and your mother both have the right to be happy, but you absolutely must make sure that he is someone who is concerned about both of you and your mother. If he is that man, then I already have a great deal of respect for him. Additionally, you are required to respect him.
