She is pleased at the prospect of their children growing up together, and Lily is overjoyed when she learns that her sister-in-law, Amanda, is pregnant at the same time as she is. Then, however, she notices that Amanda has a flat stomach, and all of a sudden, things gets different.

My entire family was left speechless as a result of the whirlwind relationship that developed between my brother, Seth, and Amanda.

I was informed by him one day that he had met someone, and that he had proposed to her three months after their initial encounter.

We were all happy to have her join our family since, despite the fact that it happened so quickly, she appeared to be a good fit for our lives.

I found out that I was pregnant not too long after they got married, and the news was received with double the excitement because Amanda also revealed that she was expecting a child at the same time.

Jordan, who is my husband, laughed and said, “Perhaps that is the reason why they got married so quickly.”

“Maybe,” I concurred with the statement. “However, I adore the concept that the infants will remain together as they grow up. They are going to be siblings!

Amanda and I became closer to one another as the weeks went into months and my eagerness rose correspondingly with the size of my tummy. I couldn’t help but feel envious of her because her pregnant tummy was perfectly round, and she didn’t appear to have gained in any other areas of her body.

Despite the fact that she was experiencing swollen ankles, nausea, and backache, she appeared to be as dazzling as ever.

“It’s just not fair,” I lamented to my husband as I dug into a Danish that he had picked up for me during our conversation.

He posed the question with a wry smile, “What’s not fair?”

“That Amanda has the appearance of a famous actress. As you are aware, she is usually perfect, and she is currently making a gorgeous little bun in her stomach.

It was just Jordan who laughed at me.

Nevertheless, I started to have doubts about her after that. We all went out to eat sushi because Seth and Jordan expressed interest in doing so. Because sushi is not recommended for pregnant women, I decided to get chow mein instead. However, it appeared that Amanda did not adhere to that restriction and instead helped herself to a piece of Seth’s creation.

The moment I contacted my mother to inform her about it, she responded by saying, “Perhaps she is not as strict about her diet as she claims to be.”

As a result, I dismissed it, believing that it was unnecessary for me to raise any concerns about it.

But then things followed a another path.

While I was making my way down the hallway to my doctor, all prepared for a checkup and excited to hear the heartbeat of my unborn child, I noticed Amanda having a conversation with her physician, her belly remarkably flat.

Amanda and the doctor were walking to the doctor’s office, and I followed them both. I knew without a doubt that it was Amanda when she let out that signature chuckle that she always has.

First, I went to my brother’s office, and then I decided to postpone my appointment. While I was trying to approach the topic of Amanda’s pregnancy in a sensitive manner, I found it difficult to keep my emotions straight.

Nevertheless, Seth’s perplexity was identical to mine.

While he was listening intently to every word I said, he questioned me, “Lily, are you sure it was Amanda?”

I gave a slight nod. I was aware of what I had observed.

He mumbled, “That doesn’t make any sense,” with a tone of disbelief running through his voice.

In spite of the fact that my infant was kicking up a storm as a result of how worked up I was, I took a drink of water from my bottle.

“The inheritance,” Seth replied in a hurried manner. “It must be that.”

That our father’s inheritance was the only conclusion that Seth could arrive to was the only conclusion. According to the terms of his will, our father had provided that all of his children would receive financial support until they reached the age of twenty-one.

“But wouldn’t you know whether Amanda is pregnant or not?” When I asked him about it, I couldn’t believe it.

It was Seth’s commitment to me that he would comply with my request.

Seth arrived later that day and sat down with Jordan and me so that we could talk.

He voiced his request, “Please pour me a drink.”

The news left him in absolute disbelief.

In the end, it was discovered that Amanda had been acting as if she was pregnant the entire time. However, the most exciting part was that her sister was expecting a child, but she had no intention of keeping the child because she wanted to pursue her education in another country.

The plan that Amanda and her sister had planned was as follows: Amanda would pretend to be pregnant, and then she would take charge of her sister’s child and raise it as her own. In addition to being aware of the secret, the physician would handle all of the paperwork in their favour.

Seth gulped down his whisky and remarked, “I’m at a loss for what to do.”

When I saw how flawless Amanda was throughout her pregnancy, I couldn’t help but feel justified in my envy of her because it turned out that she had a false bump.

Amanda has been forgiven by Seth in the end. He stated that he was unable to comprehend the reason why she did not disclose the truth to him, and that if she had, he would have been in agreement with the idea of adopting the child to begin with.

All of our children, whether they were biological or adopted, were included in the inheritance.

Jordan and I believe that Seth made the proper decision when he assisted in providing the infant with a loving environment. However, I believe that Amanda betrayed his confidence, and I am unsure of how they will be able to make amends for this.

For the time being, I will continue to satisfy my appetites and work on decorating the nursery for my child. It will be more than a few weeks until she arrives, and we will have to wait and watch how the remainder of Seth and Amanda’s relationship develops.

We can only hope that the arrival of a new baby into their lives will mend them and make up for the lie that Amanda committed.
