Woman Fails to End Call, Husband Accidentally Overhears Her Conversation

While Jeremy traveled for work on multiple occasions, his wife Clara stayed at home. However, he discovered one day that she hadn’t hung up the phone after they had spoken on the phone. He overheard Holly, her friend, utter some startling things that Jeremy found hard to believe.

“All right, honey. Jeremy responded, “Talk to you later,” taking the phone out of his ear to survey his Miami hotel room. After being away on this business trip for a while, he had just spoken to his wife Clara, and they both missed each other terribly. Everyone admired the kind of pair they were.

In addition, he put a lot of effort into providing his wife with the greatest living imaginable. They had also been unsuccessfully attempting to conceive for a long time, but they remained hopeful. Either that, or they would have to adopt. In any case, they would eventually have children and build the happy, loving family they had always wanted.

The night Clara chatted with Jeremy, she was in their hometown of Austin, Texas, with her friend Holly. They said their goodbyes, and she believed she hung up. Jeremy could still hear her talking, but it was to Holly on the other end of the line. Holly inquired about him just as he was about to end the call.

“What is Jeremy’s status?” Holly enquired.

“Explain what you mean.” Clara asked a rejoinder.

“Well, Clara, all those lovely folks. What if, you know, Jeremy is out there?

“Hey! Are you deranged? His spouse angrily retorted.

Clara, it’s not a crazy idea. Jeremy travels the world for work, and he has been in Miami quite a bit lately, am I right? Holly added a cryptic note.

What Jeremy heard that woman say astounded him. It was implied by her that he was having an affair with his wife. Something in a million years that Jeremy would never do.

No, Holly. I am not being cheated on by Jeremy. Jeremy grinned at his wife’s assured statement, “I’m sure of it.”

With an aggressive tone, Holly said, “I wouldn’t be so sure with men.”

“Please, can we have a different conversation?” After Clara pleaded, they shifted the conversation.

At that moment, Jeremy hung up the phone. That awful woman could say anything he wanted to hear. However, he was relieved that Clara stood by him completely and appeared to think he was a faithful man.

Two weeks later, Jeremy brought a large bouquet and gifts for his wife when he got home. Her attitude was strange, but she seemed to like them. Jeremy recognized that Holly’s doubts had upset her regardless of what Clara had told her. His perceptive spouse had embraced them deeply.

When he hung up the phone, he had no idea what else that woman had said. However, it was time to investigate more.

When they sat down to supper, Jeremy eventually said to his wife, “Clara, we need to talk.”

She looked up from her plate and raised an eyebrow, saying, “Oh.” “What’s that?”

“Honey, I apologize sincerely for this, but—”

“Are you ending our relationship?” Clara broke off and posed the startling query.

She yelled out, “Are you cheating on me?

“Nah! I wanted to let you know that I heard what you and Holly were talking about! Recall that you were with me when we chatted, and you neglected to end the call. She entered your thoughts, correct? Jeremy, frustrated, enquired.

You heard that, I see. So you’re not going to dump me or cheat? Clara had to make sure.

Naturally, no! The love of my life is you! Jeremy placed his hand on top of hers on the table and demanded.

“Well, that’s good then,” Clara said with an uneasy smile. “What would you like to talk about now?”

Actually, I was about to tell you that I heard what Holly was saying. When you stood up for me, I hung up the phone. However, I assumed that you had begun to trust her because of the way you had been acting since I got here. Gazing closely at her, Jeremy explained his side of the story, saying, “And I don’t know what else she might have told you.”

“Oh, that’s good. Yes, that’s right. Her words must have stuck with me. I should not have listened, though. To be honest, I’m sick of her slanderous attitude. She’s my oldest friend, but I shouldn’t be hanging out with her,” Clara retorted.

Indeed. Actually, though, I had another item I wanted to mention. I believe it’s time to look into adoption.

“I’m expecting a baby!” Just before Jeremy could continue his sentence, Clara shouted something else.

How come? Really? He asked, moving from the table to the other side and giving his wife a hug.

Yes, you appeared very serious at that moment, and I had no idea how to handle it. I apologize for saying it in that way, but I just thought I would simply take the band-aid off,” Clara remarked, giving her husband a tender look.

“You’re the world’s biggest idiot!” Declaring, Jeremy gave her a deep kiss.

They totally forgot about that problem after Clara’s amazing announcement and concentrated on supporting one other through Clara’s pregnancy. Jeremy at last applied for a job advancement where he wouldn’t have to travel as much. He didn’t want to miss anything or give Holly another opportunity to put trash in his wife’s brain.

Jeremy also came to the realization that having money was not the most important factor in starting a family after the birth of his son. It was about love, spending time together, and making enduring memories.
