Despite his love for the house, the seller informed the Redditor’s mother that he was unable to continue living there. He added that in the living area off the kitchen, his beloved late wife passed away. After considering her options, the mother of the Original Poster (OP) made the decision to move in.

Later, she talked to him about renovating the house. The man told her he would come back later to see the improvements. After he eventually left, everything briefly appeared to be ideal. The OP clarified:

“My mum woke up in the middle of the night to find my brother playing in his room, a few weeks after we moved in.”

The brother of the original poster had an oddball spiral arrangement of his beloved toy cars. At first, it appeared strange. His room’s TV was turned on, but all it showed was static. His mother asked him, inquiringly, what he was doing at this late hour.

The young child informed her straight out that he woke up to play because of his “friend.” Whatever the OP said didn’t make sense to his mother, who freaked out. Since she believed he was hallucinating, she put him to bed. The OP explained in detail:

Over the course of the following few months, this occurred multiple times. My brother told us all one day while we were having dinner as a family that his pal was in the living room observing us eat as he was seated in his high chair.

Everyone believed his brother said whatever was on his mind at the time, even the original poster. After engaging in some playtime, the OP gradually asked for more information, beginning with the name of his “imaginary” friend.

Her brother claimed that she was named Anne and that she was never able to have children. He went so far as to say that she enjoyed having them stay in that house. “Anne” seemed like an odd name for an imagined companion to the family. They disregarded the little boy’s assertions because they didn’t know anyone by that name.

He claimed he was afraid to live in the house since he couldn’t foresee the spirit’s plans.
A few weeks afterwards, the former homeowner got in touch with the OP’s relatives. Although they were happy to have him around, they were unprepared for the unsettling confession he made.

The OP stated: “He was impressed when he came over and told my mum how much his wife would have liked what she had done with the property.

“Just wondering what your wife’s name was, my mum asked him? “Anne!” was his response.

He said that his brother had no memory of anything, and he even questioned whether the buyers of the house had encountered anything eerie there. He claimed he was afraid to live in the house since he couldn’t foresee the spirit’s plans.

A small boy revealed to his mother that he had been playing with his grandfather, shocking her. The boy’s grandfather died a year before he was born, so the boy’s mother recognised it couldn’t be true.
