‘Wheel of Fortune’ Host Pat Sajak Says ‘The End Is Near’ After 40 Years
It looks like Pat Sajak is prepared for his final Wheel of Fortune spin. Sajak, 75, told Entertainment Tonight,
“In most television shows by this time, you would have said, ‘That’s probably enough,’ but this show will not die.”

Sajak joined Wheel of Fortune in 1981, after it had started in 1975. Sajak and his 65-year-old co-host Vanna White have been the series’ recognisable faces during his four decades on the show.
“It appears I may go before the show,” the emcee said, indicating his next course of action.
Sajak conveyed thanks while looking back on his career, saying, “It’s an honour to have been in people’s living rooms for that long.”
We were greeted by people outside. Sajak, who also likes to joke around with celebs on the Celebrity Wheel of Fortune spin-off of the show, remarked, “We’re happy and proud.” His ideal competitor would be Meryl Streep.
Years pass by quickly, Sajak admitted. But he also said, “We’re almost there. It’s been a while ago. This will not be done for another forty years. The end is not far off.
In December, Sajak commemorated his 40-year hosting career with a tribute from his daughter Maggie.

She tweeted a picture of her father hosting the show in the past along with the words, “Happy 40th Wheel-iversary to this guy!” “History began on this day in 1981 when @patsajak hosted his first episode of @WheelofFortune.
White has had the opportunity to host the show once the devoted presenter took a leave of absence to undergo surgery for a blocked bowel.

Fans and viewers alike get ready for the end of an era on Wheel of Fortune as Sajak makes suggestions about his impending retirement.
