Ron and his partner first connected as juniors at Burbank, California’s John Burroughs High School. The Oscar-winning director revealed that they clicked right away when they first met.
Ron said that he wasn’t even a “cool kid” in high school when asked if his charisma helped him get the stunning Cheryl. Even though the actor was well-liked, he was shy and introverted, and occasionally people would make fun of him.

“And I found this girl, and she was just so full of life,” he described. She was an aircraft pilot. She was attending night classes in an attempt to advance and doing other things. She also exuded such genuine enthusiasm for life and happiness.” Ron, who was moved to tears, continued, “His wife still has so much energy for life and happiness.”
Ron Howard has talked kindly of his wife and their marriage over the years. The actor stopped into the HuffPost Live studio in October 2013 to talk about one of his projects. Josh Zepps, the host, inquired about his marriage to Cheryl.
Ron revealed that their union has prospered despite the strong probability that it would not. He talked about how fortunate he was to have met the actress.

The actor said, “I felt lucky when we met,” expressing his shock at how far they have gone. It’s absurd. It shouldn’t have worked; we were teenagers. We were young when we were married, which also shouldn’t have worked, but it has.”
In June 2019, during a talk about the keys to a successful marriage, Ron mentioned his wife, saying, “I met her, and there was never anybody else.” That month, when they celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary, he disclosed that communication is the key to their enduring union.
The actor gave an explanation, saying, “People ask me how I do it. There’s not a method. There is no secret other than the need of communication. You have to get better at communicating and holding productive discussions in challenging situations.

Beyond that, the father of four continued, it was only a matter of chance since, in his opinion, no one can compel individuals to develop together or not. Ron went on to say that he considered himself fortunate to have Cheryl as his support throughout his life.
He talked on how supportive his wife has been, especially during his work. He also mentioned how their extraordinary life together has been filled with ups and downs, yet their harmony has remained intact.

A photo of his socks, which featured Cheryl’s face printed on them, was sent with the message. Ron disclosed that they were heading to their neighborhood pizzeria to celebrate their special day and the socks they had ordered.
He also mentioned that they will be traveling in the identical vehicle they had used fifty years prior. “It runs great,” the Oklahoma native said of the 1970 VW Bug he used to pick up his future wife. We also do so.
